I'm 12 weeks pregnant, had my first midwife app today which was perfect. I got home and as I walked to my house, blood shot down my legs. Went A&E they've given me app for EPAU tommorow afternoon! .. since then i"m still bleeding but its not heavy, and slight uncomfortable feeling at times on lower abdomen. Btw this is coincidently the same time as I usually start my periods; could it be something to do with that??

Somebody helpp.. I'm so upset ;-( i just dont know what to think or do :-(:-(:-(:-(

Anyone been in same position?

I did have a scan at 6 weeks and heard heart beat and everything was fine

call epau and see if they will see you today?

Fatty12 · 25/03/2015 13:35

I rang them before going to a&e .. they said doctor has to refer me :/ and the doctor at a&e didn't say alot, other than that whether i have a scan now or tommorow, won't have an impact on the outcome. And there could be different reasons for the bleeding.

How helpful of him.

For now, go and rest, put your feet up and try and relax.

I hope everything is ok, there have been lots of ladies who have had sad stories, but also some very positive ones, so keep the faith for now Flowers

FirstOfficerDouglasRichardson · 25/03/2015 13:59

I had a lot of bleeding throughout my pregnancy but never cramps, how bad is the cramping? I know it's terrifying but it sounds like there is very little you can do but try to rest. Did you speak to your community midwife team, they always got me in for a scan in the very day I started bleeding?

Fatty12 · 25/03/2015 14:39

**number3cometome
Just made a cup of tea, and going to try to rest now, thankyou for the support; means alot.

**FirstOfficerDouglasRichardson
I used to have extremely bad period pains, this is nothing compared. They seem to have stopped now. They were very mild when they did happen.

I'v rang midwife team, they can't do much, said that i'll have to wait till tommorow.

just to add from thenstart iv had slight discomfort on my left side of the stomach and left leg at times, and even now. Could that be something?! Hmm

Call around different hospitals. I was having unexplained bleeding and did a walk in at a different EPU.

FirstOfficerDouglasRichardson · 25/03/2015 15:03

I never had cramps at all but TMI had lots of blood (fresh and red) and clots. More so then any period. And they never ever got to the bottom of it. Happened on at least 6 separate occasions between 8-16 weeks and then just stopped. DS was born and is now 4, but I don't want to get your hopes up, I know how frightening it is and the only thing that reassured me in any way was a scan the day it started and my hospital squeezed me in every time.

Phone around and try and get a scan.

Number3cometome · 25/03/2015 15:05

I concur, phone around and see if you can get a scan, try the different A&E's.

Cramps don't mean anything in particular, could well be growing pains, but again so as not to get your hopes too highly up, it could be a bad sign, could be fine.

scarednoob · 25/03/2015 15:17

i agree - hopefully the scan will show it is nothing, especially as you have seen a heartbeat. whilst the doctor may be technically correct that it won't make any difference to the outcome, how could he not think that having to wait 24 hours would not make any difference to your mental health?!

i would try and push harder for a scan today, or even book a private emergency one, if you can. when i had a slight bleed at 6 weeks, they had me in A&E and then straight up for a scan within the hour, and that was in a very busy central london hospital, so it can most definitely be done!

fingers crossed for you x

Fatty12 · 25/03/2015 15:29

I'm going to check online for other epu's now around my area and see if they can squeeze me in. Didn't think of that.

This waiting game is the worst! At times feels like A&E treat you as another patient rather than an individual. He was so rude, I was blatently upset and at the end he said I'm sorry, you'll have to just wait till tommorow and walked off! ConfusedShock

A & E on the whole will turn you away unless you are bleeding very heavily, to the point that you can soak a pad through.

Fatty12 · 25/03/2015 20:06

I knoww Sad
I'm getting cramps now too, each time i move they get worse..

Do you think i should ring NHS on 111

FirstOfficerDouglasRichardson · 25/03/2015 20:31

Ring and ask for advice. :(

Fatty12 · 25/03/2015 21:07

They've booked appointment with GP at hosp in half hour Confused not sure what exactly the GP can do

AuntieDee · 25/03/2015 21:51

You need the EPU - hopefully they will be able to sort it but usually not. I went to A&E after being electrocuted and although they did an ECG on me, I had to phone EPU the next morning for a scan.

Always contact EPU first xx

Fatty12 · 25/03/2015 23:47

She said its most likely a miscarraige, definitely not an ectoptic. She said only the scan will confirm tommorow. SadSadSad

I feel like my Heads all over the place. I dont know what to think and what to do

Fatty I am so sorry. I am currently having a home MMC so have every sympathy of the worry. When you have the scan she may be wrong. I will keep my fingers crossed for you xxx

S2b16 · 26/03/2015 06:51

Flowers hope the gp is wrong.
Fingers crossed for your scan xx

FirstOfficerDouglasRichardson · 26/03/2015 07:01

I'm sorry fatty. Flowers

SandmanSlim · 26/03/2015 07:07

I've had this this week (12w too) and I can't believe they were so dismissive in a&e. I got seen straight away and they called a gynae and a portable scanner.
I know that doesn't really help but just to let you know that you aren't the only one and I would feel the same if I'd been treated like that. Hope you get good news today.

Fatty12 · 26/03/2015 09:29

**AuntieDee aww bless you Flowers can imagine how stressful it'll be
