No symptoms of preganancy - this can't be normal??

I found out I am pregnant and am delighted as it was a planned pregnancy and we got there first time. I 'knew' I was pregnant before I missed my period but other than my boobs getting bigger I am having no symptoms whatsoever!

Everything I have read says that morning sickness is a sign that HCG levels are high - does that mean mine aren't? Is it actualy unusual not to have the usual symptoms of pregnancy?

I wen't for a scan last week as I was having blood loss and stomach cramps but it turns out that was just the placenta embedding and is normal. The heartbeat is strong and baby normal size for gestation (ie tiny).

I'm feeling like I am cheating almost... Am I going to wake up soon and have the most horrendous morning sickness, or at 8 weeks is this all I have to expect until I get the 'getting bigger' symptoms?

I had about 2 days of mild nausea at 10 weeks with ds. Even at 9 months gone i would've have to look down to know I was pregnant. No symptoms at all. All fine. This pregnancy however...............
Go with the flow, you might get symptoms, you might not, either way is normal.

Hotpotpie · 22/02/2015 10:43

With my first child I had no Sickness, nausea or anything, I had a small bleed at 7 weeks but other than that nothing at all, first time I 'felt' pregnant was 18 weeks when I started getting horrendous cramp. She's a slightly wild nearly three year old now. This time my boobs are occasionally a bit sore and at 6 weeks ive started with a mild nausea and I'm terribly constipated but that's it, I'm feeling less sure that I'll make it to 12 weeks without sickness. Some people are just lucky, enjoy it while you can!

mrsmugoo · 22/02/2015 10:46

I didn't find out until I was 13 weeks gone - no symptoms whatsoever!

DS is 11 months and clambering all over me as I type.

Enjoy it - you're one of the lucky ones!!

ambientolf · 22/02/2015 10:46

I'm 11+2 and haven't had any symptons really apart from the odd bit of nausea & sore boobs. Although my skin is terrible & I have spots everywhere! I think the myth of morning sickness meaning a healthier pregnancy is rubbish, everyone is different and I've noticed lots of women on here saying they haven't had symptons. But it's only early days for us!!

ambientolf · 22/02/2015 10:48

Oh and I didnt have a positive test until I was 8 weeks (3 home tests said negative) but I had an early scan and baby is there wiggling about its little heart beating, so I'm trying to stay positive! Grin

AuntieDee · 22/02/2015 10:50

Thanks for the support ladies :) I will continue to be slightly smug until I can be so no longer :)

No usual symptoms here either. I'm now 33 weeks so you're not alone in this. I do think not having many symptoms makes for more worrying but as long as you are doing all you're meant to baby will be fine and happily growing. I calmed down at about 20 weeks when kicking startef.

Nancy54 · 22/02/2015 10:54

I had absolutely no symptoms, was convinced I wasn't pregnant.....got the shock of my life when I found out it was twins!!

Enjoy it!

I'm a bit pregnancy phobic so I'm not sure how I'm going to feel about the kicking until it happens. At the moment the thought of it creeps me out a bit...

My dd - no symptoms whatsoever and yes it does make you worry.

However this pregnancy ( is a boy this time) I've had nearly everything! Horrendous morning sickness until 16 weeks along with heart burn/ cramp etc etc.

Be smug and count yourself lucky! I'm jealous Wink

You'd know if there was something wrong so enjoy feeling like a human

poisonedbypen · 22/02/2015 17:03

I had no symptoms with any of mine. Try not to worry.

feetheart · 22/02/2015 17:08

Very few symptoms with either of mine - one girl (12 today Shock) , one boy.
Hope the snug feelings stay OP, just be aware that other people will be very jealous :)

feetheart · 22/02/2015 17:08

SMUG (though snug sounds nice too :))

sianihedgehog · 22/02/2015 18:54

I felt fine, too! At around 8 weeks I got spells of randomly feeling a bit spewy, but I've still not vomited, and those stopped by 15 weeks. I have had CRUSHING exhaustion from about 8 weeks, mind. And I've been really short of breath since about 12. Have a look at some of the more unusual symptoms if you just find yourself wishing you had some so it felt real. I had nosebleeds, which I never even knew was a symptom!! Not everyone gets sick, lots of women have healthy pregnancies without it!

Littlehopeful · 22/02/2015 18:56

It's completely normal - my consultant said more and more people seem to be lacking symptoms than suffering from them!

scatterbrainedlass · 23/02/2015 09:22

How far along are you Dee? I'm 4+3 and have had cramping, sore boobs and a little bit of queasiness but no actual morning sickness or anything. I know there's plenty of time yet though!

batfish · 23/02/2015 09:43

AuntieDee I am 7+3 and other than sore boobs I have absolutely nothing, don't even feel more tired than usual. it is worrying me that it is a bad sign but then I remind myself that even having loads of symptoms is no guarantee that everything is OK so I'm trying my best and mostly failing to chill out about it! I had a scan at 5+5 and heard a heartbeat so I know all was OK then, just hoping it still is!

Choccywoccydodah · 23/02/2015 11:28

I had absolutely nada with ds. I had a small brown bleed at 7+4 and was scanned due to that and no symptoms and there he was with his little heart beating away!
I had nothing throughout my pregnancy, to a point where they scanned me nearer the end more regularly as I didn't even really show til 7 months so they were worried about him not growing and no symptoms. I was told 2 weeks before EDD I would have a 5lb baby due to the size and not much symptom wise, he came out 8/13!

This time I also have nothing, but only 5 weeks so I'm not getting my hopes up that it'll go as smoothly as last time! But of queasiness has kicked in but that's all.

anroga · 23/02/2015 13:11

Hi Auntiedee

I had my scan last Thursday, saw my tiny little bean and heard its very loud heartbeat, I am 7 weeks 2 days pregnant but like you feeling generally ok!

I have got cramps on and off which the nurse confirmed on Thursday is normal as it is everything down there growing and moving, feel more tired than usual, my boobs have got alot bigger and I am frequenting the toilet more often but no morning sickness, food aversions etc.

My dh said to the nurse on Thursday about the morning sickness and she said you might get it you might not every woman is different so there we are I think at the moment we need to count ourselves lucky!

Got another scan at 10 weeks so counting down the days until that now!
(Am pregnant first time by ICSI so have earlier scans)

x

Lop12345 · 23/02/2015 14:01

I didn't/don't have any symptoms & I'm now 26 weeks! Sore boobs for a coue of weeks around 14weeks but that was it, enjoy it, not everyone is as lucky as us Smile

AuntieDee · 23/02/2015 14:18

Thanks everyone :) I am 7+6 and have my first antenatal appointment on Friday :) :)

I'm 12 weeks tomorrow and still no symptoms as such. I did have 3 days of morning sickness that was all day but I'm not convinced that it wasn't a bug that was going round.

I'm still feeling very strange as I don't feel pregnant. I've got my 12 week scan on the 2nd April (I'm actually 13 1/2 weeks then on dates but my scan at 6 weeks has put me backwards on their calendar) so hopefully I will be more reassured when I see it moving :)

batfish · 16/03/2015 14:58

I'm with you auntiedee - I don't feel pregnant in the slightest, now that I know my baby is OK and I am not worrying 24/7 I forget half the time!

brokencrayons · 17/03/2015 12:56

Please don't worry! I had terrible 's with my daughter, much less with my son and it started about 8 or 10 weeks.

dottiemad · 17/03/2015 13:15

I'm 6+0 and have had some cramps and sore boobs, apart from that...nothing :-/

I've got another pregnancy test to reassure myself I'm still pregnant before I tell the nurse :-)
