Hi ladies,
I'm currently about 8 weeks pregnant with dc2 and don't think I have any symptoms yet (apart from tiredness but that's fairly standard!). I didn't get some mild morning sickness with dc1 but can't remember now when it started. Anyone remember roughly when it kicks in?

I never got any with #1. I had 2 bouts of sickness after smelling cheese and onion crisps, but this was more an aversion to said crisps rather than morning sickness, stayed away from them and wasn't sick again. I'm also not experiencing a single symptom this time round. Maybe we're just lucky?

Bustherb · 19/02/2015 09:52

Hiya, from about 7 weeks and it's stop going strong now I'm at nearly 21 weeks ConfusedConfused xx

Choccyhobnob · 19/02/2015 10:06

10 + 2 here and still waiting!

BadIdeaBear · 19/02/2015 10:10

I'm 19+4 and I've not had any sickness at all - you might escape, you never know!

Good luck!

scarednoob · 19/02/2015 10:13

sorry to hijack with a really silly question but..... what does MS feel like?! after my scan re-dated me, i'm 7w today, and so far i've noticed:

  • i get full v quickly/feel a bit sick for a little while after eating
  • can't seem to fancy anything in particular and find some things offputting
  • i seem to go from feeling normal to STARVING/SICK WITH HUNGER in the space of a second

is this morning sickness? or just general pregnancy weirdness?!

i blame hollywood for making us think that the very first symptom of pregnancy would be having our heads stuck in the toilet from 6am!

NickyEds · 19/02/2015 10:21

pixie For me morning sickness started at 4 weeksSad- it's what prompted me to take a test. It continued until around 12 weeks and then thankfully stopped. It was miserable throwing up all of the time. I didn't get it at all with ds, just a little mild nausea.

scarednoob It feels like car sickness mixed with hangover. I'd get a bit sweaty and hot (nice) and have a sort of woozy feeling that would become nausea, then sick. What you describe sounds more like general pregnancy!

HoneyIsBeePoo · 19/02/2015 10:23

DD - the day before I tested.
DS - about 3 weeks, less intense but lasted right up until about 20 weeks.

weelamb123 · 19/02/2015 10:38

You'll know when the morning sickness hits u, believe me! I'm 18 weeks & have had hypermesis since about 8 weeks. Its easing ever so slightly but I still have bad days where I cant move. Xx

applecore0317 · 19/02/2015 11:04

Not everyone gets morning sickness, I didn't, only time I was sick was when I took pregnacare, switched to sanatogen and was fine. Other than tiredness and bloating I was pretty much symptomless and am now 26 weeks

pinkie87 · 19/02/2015 11:39

One or two days of nausea around 6 weeks and nothing really since. I'm now 12+6.

Thurlow · 19/02/2015 11:46

About 6/7w. I actually thought I was 4w more pregnant than I was, and an OoO GP I was talking to over the phone was the first to say my dates might be wrong as he said nearly all women who get sick will get sick around 6/7w, not 10w.

scared, that sounds more like general pregnancy weirdness to me! As Nicky says, my sickness was genuine nausea - ringing ears, sweaty, woozy, then stomach churning.

sianihedgehog · 19/02/2015 11:50

Some people don't get it. I felt exhausted, and went straight from fine to starving sick, but really didn't get any notable sickness. I felt like I was moderately hungover for a couple of weeks, but none of this head in the toilet stuff.

Sukie272 · 19/02/2015 12:57

Mine started at 4 weeks (initially mild queasiness) and by 5 weeks had progressed to vomiting several times a day and an unrelenting 'travel-sick' feeling day and night, got progressively worse which led to HG diagnosis.

Northumberlandlass · 19/02/2015 13:01

I didn't feel sick at all. Up until 34 weeks the only 'symptom' I had was a bump.

Caterina99 · 19/02/2015 14:27

I had some nausea and food aversions (basically felt hungover) from about 6 weeks to 10 weeks. Was never once sick.

ChickenMe · 19/02/2015 14:34

About seven weeks. Bad taste in mouth, more constant nausea than vomiting for me. Need to eat right now feeling. Eating helped the nausea a bit.

Skeppers · 19/02/2015 14:36

No sickness at all here either. Now 15+4.

Count yourself lucky if you don't get any, I do! Grin

coastergirl · 19/02/2015 14:36

35+5 here and still waiting! You might be lucky, there don't seem to be many of us around who don't even experience a hint of nausea, but we do exist!

daluze · 19/02/2015 15:19

Never with DS1. Almost since seeing a positive line with DC2 (and still at nearly 14 weeks). You can't predict - hopefully you are lucky this time round!

ThatBloodyWoman · 19/02/2015 15:21

I didn't with either pregnancy.

worriedmum100 · 19/02/2015 16:09

With DCo it lasted from 6 to 14 weeks. Just terrible nausea, no actual vomiting
I'm 9 weeks with dc 2 and it's been more on and off. Ive had a few days here and there with nothibg at all.

Week 7 was very bad all the time. Week 8 not so constant but very bad waves. Have left work early today as every time I move my head it's terrible. I'm much better in the mornings but from lunchtime onwards I really go downhill.

It feels like a combination of motion sickness, norovirus, flu and a hangover. Coupled with the utter exhaustion it makes early pregnancy just lovely!

Nothing really helps. Eating whatever you can stomach little and often and lots of rest are the only things that keep it at bay for me.

Littlehopeful · 19/02/2015 17:00

Not everyone feels sick my mum didn't with any of her 6 pregnancies one including twins.

I get a tiny bit nauseated when I haven't are but that's it (11+5)

Sukie272 · 19/02/2015 17:05

'It feels like a combination of motion sickness, norovirus, flu and a hangover.'

Perfect description! That's exactly how i feel too.

RhiannonElward · 19/02/2015 18:31

I started feeling sick yesterday 6 weeks and 1 day, nothing too major as yet but enough to remind me of the horrors that may await me. I am used to not eating breakfast, but I bought snacks for the side of the bed and I'm starting to take precautions, like buying in lots of snacks to eat instead of big meals. Last time I had MS I didn't have to manage a school run so don't ask how next week is going to go. I'm going to be throwing up at the school gate, I just know it.

JassyRadlett · 19/02/2015 18:37

With last pregnancy, about 3+6. This time, 3+2, and a positive test at 3+3.

Only difference this time is that eating makes it worse, not better....
