Well do they show up that easily?! I had my 20 week scan yesterday (was not told the sex)and when we came out both DH and I said we thought we saw the testicles hanging down between the legs.........? Is that possible

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I saw a friend's scan picture yesterday and could have sworn it was a boy but apparently not... she's having a girl! All the bits appeared very swollen hence why I thought a boy.

When I had my scans they wouldn't tell us in case they got it wrong - they did say you could often tell for sure if it was a boy, but not seeing anything didn't mean it was a girl. (This was 18 & 16 years ago so things might have changed)

I have studied Ds's scan photo many times but I can't see a thing.

About the clothes - why not buy yellow or green, or even bright colours - actually my very favourite outfit for DS was a little black velvet suit from H&M: he looked gorgeous, tho' MIL was horrified.
In fact DD spent a lot of her early months in blue, having an older brother & 2 older boy cousins - no one ever said 'what a sweet little boy'

Hi everyone,

If you go to the website called howstuffworks.com there is a little mini doc that shows how the sex organs develop. Its great!

I am desperate to find out what I am having and I am only 13 weeks!

Apparently if the bmp on an ultrasound is around 140 bpm its a boy and if it is over 150 bpm a girl???

scarymaryme · 16/10/2006 09:19

Yeh, my dh and I both saw ds bits! The lady had to measure his little legs, and right on cue he was legs akimbo!!

scarymaryme · 16/10/2006 09:23

My dd1 and my ds proved that theory right wantababy but my dd2 had a really slow heartbeat, we thought it might mean she would be a boy but she was obviously just a chilled out girl!
Check the growth of your hair too, in some cases, if you are having a boy...your hair is said to grow faster (something to do with hormones)? Strangely though it worked for me. My middle one is a boy and my hair grew dead quick...I was for ever shaving my legs and bits!!!!

scarymaryme · 16/10/2006 09:30

Oh and also...go with your gut feeling, I knew my girls would be girls! not till about 7 months mind you but I just had a feeling....even to the point with dd2 I named her and called my bump it!! (admittadely I'd of looked pretty stupid if she had been a boy!!!!!)
With ds I had no idea, except we saw his bits on the scan.

HallgerdaLongcloak · 16/10/2006 09:45

All three of my sons kept their legs modestly crossed for the scan.

Ettenna · 19/10/2006 17:00

Yes had big scan yesterday and the sonographer was really sure it was a boy - even I could see a definite 'extra bit' (as she put it!)

toiletrollmummy · 19/10/2006 17:09

i remember with dd3 we had our other 2 dd's with us . we told the sonographer that we wanted to know but didnt want dd's to know so she said....

"well it looks like a hat trick !!!"

she was right

toiletrollmummy · 19/10/2006 17:09
