I'm currently 40+3 had a sweep 4 days ago, show the following day and today I have period type pains, tummy is tight but not sore, and isn't tightening then relaxing. Could this be early labour?? This is 2nd baby but 1st was induced.

So exciting Goofy. Still no signs here. How is everyone else getting on?

hannahlucyellen · 26/07/2014 14:40

Fantastic news goofy did it continue into labour?! I shouldn't grumble too much my actual due date isn't until the day after tomorrow. Currently have the period pains back, but they're so familiar now I don't get excited.

I really hope I do realise when actual labour begins (other mothers assure me I will, but then you do hear of these women giving birth in the car on the way to hospital!) PJ12 welcome- I have a sweep booked for Thursday but hoping I won't need it Grin

ilovemonstersInc · 27/07/2014 02:08

Good luck goofy! Hows things?

I had irregular contractions that were getting more intense and bit more regular then f.a Angry

goofygoober · 27/07/2014 08:00

Thanks everyone, DS4 was born just shy of midnight last night. Birth very surreal, had to have waters broken, the drip, he was back to back, got stuck. All frightening and exhilarating stuff. Threatened c section many times - but he managed to come out with a lot of pushing and eventually shoulder got stuck.

Totally exhausted, but very, very happy. Will keep my fingers crossed for you ladies Thanks.

ilovemonstersInc · 27/07/2014 09:00

Flowers congratulations. .hope you recover quickly x x

frogem366 · 27/07/2014 22:02

Sorry ladies I have no idea where the days have gone!!
Induction done.....waters broken at 12md first contraction at 2pm, DD2 arrived at 5.23pm after 8mins of pushing :) on just gas and air we had a few nights in establishing feeding and we are now home and settled.

Much much better experience than my DD1 (which was B2B) with 3 days on morphine prior to birth. This time I remember everything and am a much happier mummy post natal ..... So far.

Sorry for the delay in posting news hospital phone reception crap & home life has been busy. Hoping for a few dats rest now to get to know our new bundle.

How is everyone getting on?

Good luck when time comes xxx

Congratulations
Flowers

I had contractions every 7 mins then every 5 then nothing Hmm

ilovemonstersInc · 28/07/2014 09:45

That was last night and this morning

hannahlucyellen · 28/07/2014 10:13

frog that was quick, and a great induction story, I've heard quite a few negative ones!
goofy congratulations, glad after a trying time he arrived nice and safe! So pleased you've both got your babies now! Just us left with our false starts and anticipation!!

Due date today, so hoping I'm one of the 5%! midwife hasn't confirmed sweep for Thursday, so I may just keep quiet... I'm convinced he'll turn up :)

buttercupyellow · 29/07/2014 07:45

Yey!! Great to hear those stubborn babies were finally evicted. Frog, am so glad it all went smoothly because I know you weren't looking forward to the induction.
Goofy you super hero! Well done for avoiding the c-section. Hope I can be that brave if it gets that hard.
I've still not had anything as strong as I did nearly 2 weeks ago. Am only 39 weeks so could go a while yet. Ah well. Will keep telling myself it'll happen when it's ready (and downing buckets of raspberry leaf tea, evening primrose oil, pineapple etc)!
Congratulations on the new babies guys Grin

ilovemonstersInc · 29/07/2014 10:22

Buttercup I had some strong pain last night

was in the bath crying. Then nothing Hmm

ive been in and out of hosp this pregnancy with this and turns out im at risk of premature labour (they did the test)

dont want to go back to hosp unti they are every 3/4mins apart

goofygoober · 29/07/2014 17:04

Thanks everyone for your kind wishes.

Congrats frogem Thanks Great to hear everything was positive, so pleased for you.

We are still in hospital. Lost a lot of blood and the birth was pretty traumatic, so recovery has been quite slow. Taking good care of us though.

Will pop back in to see everyone else's progress. The very best of luck, so exciting! Thanks

frogem366 · 29/07/2014 18:20

Thank you everyone!! It's even tempted me to consider a 3rd!!! Which prior to this birth was a massive no no!!

Time will tell tho.

Congrats goofy, hope you get home and settled soon & you have lots of help to aid your recovery. Minimise visitors and accept all help offered :)

To everyone else - your almost at the end of your pregnancy journey, the last few weeks are the longest, most uncomfortable and frustrating. But you will soon have you little bundle in your arms and be able to lie on your tummy again :) awaiting labour is horrible but also exciting, and if anyone has to endure induction they can be positive. Mine was, quick, contractions strong, but over in no time at all.

Good luck, and remember breath & push!!! I'm a firm believer in raspberry leaf tea to help when it comes to pushing!!

I will check back and see how you are all progressing.

Monsters that sounds pretty shitty. How long till you're to term? Must feel like a balancing act between wanting the pregnancy over and wanting baby to stay put just a little bit longer to avoid the SBU...

ilovemonstersInc · 30/07/2014 06:50

What is term classed as 37 weeks? I term next Friday.

These pains are horrible! See Consulant today and didnt sleep all night as I was worried shes going to say theres nothing she can do Hmm

ilovemonstersInc · 30/07/2014 18:07

Not happy.
This baby will be a hard one.
I dont dilate so im 2 weeks get a sweep as theres no change today so she didn't want to risk doing too many procedures and risk c section.
I think the only thing is hes -3. Dunnoo what that means.
She doesn't think I will go 2 weeks though.

Babys measuring 40+5 weeks and im 35+5 today.

Not happy at all but as I have such a bad time in labour they dont want to chance anything else going wrong so I didnt push it.
Obv if it gets too much go triage

PJ12 · 30/07/2014 20:11

Congrats Goofy and Frogem on your bundles of joy!!! 'm a week overdue today Sad. I had a failed sweep yesterday (cervix isn't even open). So am booked for induction on Monday. Frogem your induction gives me hope as I am terrified. I really hope something happens before Monday.

Howly · 31/07/2014 09:14

Hi ladies, 40+6 here today, feeling exactly the same as others on here! Been cramping all night but managed to sleep through a lot of it, been having cramps and back ache on and off since 36 weeks so getting used I then amounting I nothing!

I reeaaalllyyyy don't want to be induced! I've got a reflexology session and sweep today, a scan to check baby on Monday night and then we go from there!

It feels like in never going to have her and it's making me anxious!

PJ12 · 31/07/2014 16:29

Howly I feel exactly the same. It feels like I'm going to be pregnant forever. I'm going to have another attempt at a sweep on Sat to see if anything has changed. If not, then it's induction on Monday.
