I am a new member and have joined hopefully for some advice and reassurance from non threatening mums! I am 9 weeks pregnant with 3rd child - have 2 boys of 3yrs and 14 months, and am in Germany with Army husband who is about to go away on operations for remainder of pregnancy and birth. I am currently unable to kick the glass of wine a day habit - positively long for it by 7 pm, after a long day with the boys. I am now tearing myself apart with worry that I have already given baby FAS. Do you think there is any point stopping now?

Thank you all so much for the encouragement - it is a huge help. I had a spritzer last night, but that's the only lapse in 5 days. Had a horrendous day with the boys today, but managed to hold it together, and that box is still pristine! Really, you guys are all so kind - I feel very humbled. I've been having the oddest dreams that I'm smoking and damaging the baby, which is really odd, as I don't smoke, but I get them every 3 nights - maybe it's misplaced guilt...

Well done really worth it in the end. I saw this thread at first didn't have anything useful to say (sorry) but am very impressed you've cut down so far. You'll be chucking that wine box in the bin soon! It's not for long you can look forward to a nice drink of something in the delivery suite! (As long as you're not having a CS I suppose!)

It makes me really angry when people are so pious about not drinking. I am 8 months into my second pregnancy (DS is 2) and some days are just plain hard work (and I have my husband around to take it out on). I can't imagine being on third pregnancy without my husband around, so good on you for efforts at cutting down and my advice would be to ignore those who clearly just don't get it (they probably don't have any other kids yet)
