Mum2FunkyDude · 23/08/2006 19:21

Well Done Kat, I'm very happy that things, although at lightning speed, worked out well.

Good on you for telling the "neighbour" to fuck off...should've given her the finger too!

hairymclary · 23/08/2006 19:25

congratulations to kat. how old IS she btw? just being nosy.
and what a star baby tallulah is, breastfeeding and everything and doing grandly. that's excellent news

CountTo10 · 23/08/2006 19:55

Fantastic news Kat!!!! Congrats on Tallulah - can't beleive last night you were pg with odd twinges and now you've got a gorgeous baby girl!!! Hope you're all ok and ignore the old bag that gave you a hard time - what does she know!!!!

Ooo how exciting!!!!! Well done you

XxXKatXxX · 23/08/2006 20:22

Hm who do you mean? Kat or baby?
Kats 14 babys less then a day!

Been to see her again and alls good the breastfeeds going slightly topsy tervy! shes not very sure or confident with it but sure she'll be fine
she should hopefully be home by sunday or monday! (fingers crossed!)

Yup all those twinges! and now a baby! who'd have thought it!?
bless her, last night she came down stairs and said "mum something wrong, i know it i just know it i keep getting twitches and twinges in my stomache and pains somethings wrong i want to go to ths hospital something is happening and i cant explain it" she was so so scared! and to think now that shes got a baby! amazing thought! and shes such a proud mum! although feeling rather lousy and tired and achy but pulling through fighting fit!

BrookeandTaylorsmummy · 23/08/2006 20:27

Ahhhh bless her, I didnt realise that was Kats age, she has done so well going throuh all this, such a strong girl and a credit to you I'm sure, fantastic that she wants to bf, if she needs any advice help etc, I along with about amillion others, will be here to help, although I'm sure you are doing wonders! I doubt I could have coped with all this and Im 26! Tell her well done again from me, she'll get sick of me soon!!! Hugs love and kisses from me and my two little angels xx

magnolia1 · 23/08/2006 20:29

Wow! I didn't realise she was so young (that isn't a put down i promise)
You sound like a fantastic supportive mum to her and I bet she will be a superb fantastic mum herself.
Is baby ok? Sounds like she is doing fantastic for a preemie, my 4th was premature and its a very scary thing to go through but special care units are fantastic

Give her my love xxxx

shhhh · 23/08/2006 20:41

btw, she was booked in for scan yesterday as she was also concerned about bleeding..did she have it.? Were there no concerns at the scan.?

Tell her to persevere at bf. It is hard and painful but so worth it in the end. Its such a lovelt bond and such a lovely time with mother and baby.
With tullulah being prem it may be harder as she is even less aware of how to bf but she will grasp it. My friends baby was prem and she bf (she expressed while in hospital for 1 week as she struggled to feed) but once dd was home she was at it like a pro ..!!

XxXKatXxX · 23/08/2006 21:22

i know shes found it very hard last night when i took her to the hospital and ben came she just broke down crying in his arms! and she was terrified shaking and worried that the baby wouldnt make it. Yes she is very young but i believe she can pull through and yup she is a credit to me! along side my other daughter (and son)LOL. The breastfeeding was ok to begin with but shes now struggling a bit but a couple of mates have been in to see her and shes to tired tonight! fingers crossed the bf goes ok!

OP posts:
shhhh · 23/08/2006 21:32

god I remember the starts of bf so so well. I remember starting to feed my dd at 10pm at night and still being there at 1am..crying and stressing. Each hv or mw I buzzed replied "you are doing so well keep it up..grrrr...I was frustrated and thought it would happen so easily. I ended up telling my mw that I was off to the toilet and I wanted dd to be given a bottle. I gave up.

My mw took dd and brought her back to me after 30 mins, lol she just wanted a love..! I was better once home as I didn't have the pressure and didn't feel "watched". I managed it for 8 months which made me v proud and dh even prouder..!

A rest and a bit of sleep will make things seem clearer for her.

Gingeme · 23/08/2006 22:42

Ive just realied something. LIttle Tululah nearly shared her bithday with her little cousin! Hows her sister and new little one doing?
Still cant believe how quick all this happened. Was telling my Mum today about Kat and tis rude cow next t her. She said wow shes not gonna have any probs with anybody is she?. Bless Kat and her little family. xxx

XxXKatXxX · 24/08/2006 10:58

Her sister and Cecily are doing great! shes getting to be an old hand at it now! (3rd time round now
) so alls going really well yea Kat slept last night but not well shes still trying to come to terms with the fact shes a mum! still stressing over the bf too.
last night she found hard (said that woman had been saying shite yet again) and she'd had enough of it as shes still a normal person with feelings no matter what her age and sounds like it got a bit nasty and it ended in tears (with kat) which was upsetting comidering how hard shes trying!

BrookeandTaylorsmummy · 24/08/2006 11:11

Morning!

Was wondering how she and Tallulah were doing, if I was nearby I'd go up to the hospital and give Kat a huge hug and tell the old bag to sod off! Its such a shock for Kat bless her and she don't need some bitter old trout giving her crap! I had an emergency c section, at 39 weeks tho, which was hard enough so my heart really goes out to her. Sending yet more love and hugs your way xxx

HellKat · 24/08/2006 11:19

Congrats hun!!!!
That's a great weight.
There's alot of us on here that have had premmies. My ds2 was 34wks & my little dd was 32 wks.
Good luck & well done xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

XxXKatXxX · 24/08/2006 11:51

Yea my ds was a prem aswell and it is worrying and upsetting and you dont know how your going to cope etc but we all do manage luckily, yea that effing woman was moved away from her as she was also mouthing off to mw about kats age and then still had the balls to come back and have a go again! saying that kat shouldn't have been so rude to her and it was unacceptable and she wanted an appologie which kat wasnt going to give as she didn't believe she was in the wrong (well nomore so then the woman) the woman actually shated shouting! and upset kats dd which just pissed everyone off so kat ended up being reallyquite nasty to her not chossing her words just effing and blinding at her! her bil calmed her down and libby (her sister) went and spoke to the woman but it wasnt the fact what she said had upset her it was that shes trying to hard and tht woman is just digging at her over her age! it was really upsetting to see her so heartbroken and in tears last night and this morning but she phoned earlier and seems to have cheered up more now and bf is going ok now! and bens parents have been in to see dd now too!
only poblem is, shes meant to be going on holiday in 3 weeks time and im not sure about it (shes going to stay with family) in jersey its only an hours flight but i dont if she should go or not, what do you all think?

OP posts:
prettymum · 24/08/2006 12:00

well done for kat sticking up for herself, she just went through a traumatic time of having her baby early!!!people like that woman should not be allowed to have opinions!!

i dont think she should go, will the baby be let home early? i think she should stay home and relax and have you around her so she can get used to being a mum

BrookeandTaylorsmummy · 24/08/2006 12:29

I think she should stay home for a bit and postpone the holiday for a little while until everything has settled. She is so lucky to have such a supportive family around her, you are all doing fab and should be proud of yourselves! Meant to say before send our congrats to Ben too!! xx
