dd was 4 weeks early, was on 3 hourly feeds, but she had to have special build up milk, she weighed 4lb 4oz at birth & 5lb 0oz 4 weeks later. That baby must be eating heaps..

what a crock of shite

Creena · 21/09/2006 18:56

I'm very new here and so don't perhaps shouldn't be commenting. I am concerned, though - I've noticed a couple of other threads where the thread starter has posted stuff in a very similar way - urgently wanting help, facts not quite adding up, seemingly desperate, certain style of spelling/grammar/prose. Maybe it's a cry for attention?

creena - think i know the threads you mean, i answered her as she posted a desperate need help NOW message - then disappeared again. she is meant to be getting a blood test result tomorrow - will be interesting to see if she posts.....i am new too and find all of this bizarre but interesting - things not always what they seem in cyberspace...

carrotcake · 21/09/2006 20:41

Yes, I was going to look out for that thread tomorrow, the blood test one. I haven't posted on it but have been watching. It seems like there's mixed opinions on whether it is genuine, and there do seem to be similarities of tone with this. Seems bizarre to me, I'm relatively new to mumsnet, joined in the last month or so and it seems a weird way to get attention. Not sure if I feel sorry for 'trolls' or not...

Bramshott · 22/09/2006 11:28

I'm so glad to read these post - this had been bothering me all night!! I had a 33-weeker at a very good weight (4lb 11oz) and with no real problems, but she still stayed in hospital 3 weeks to learn to feed, put on weight, and get her temperature / breathing sorted.

HumphreysCorner · 22/09/2006 12:08

I was truly amazed that the hospital let a 2lb baby out so soon and she was able to be BF! My friend's DD was 6 weeks early and was in SCBU for a few weeks due to being premature and weighed 4lb something.

lubella · 22/09/2006 19:30

It's all a lie.
Can't believe so many people got suckered into this one - her Mother came online the day after her daughter alledgedly gave birth, with a ridiculous story about how the woman in the next bed started calling her a slapper ???!!*? Really really strange.
Then she was home posting on the internet, debating about her next holiday with a 2lb baby home who she was breastfeeding at 28 weeks.

kittywits · 22/09/2006 20:23

I've been watching this one too and for me it just screams out 'fake' .It's not just the medical inaccuracies, but the whole tone of the thread.

lilymolly · 22/09/2006 20:51

Im relatively new too to mn too. I had doubts about this at the time, but did not want to upset anyone, 28 weeks is only 3 weeks more than 25 week viabilty. Do people really post these threads and make it all up?? I am too niave spl?

what got me was asking if it was ok to go away on holiday only a week later if I remember rightly. at the time I thought that was irresponsable, but said nowt!!

3andnomore · 22/09/2006 21:17

I there not a trollhunter on mn then...you must get one of those...they are marvelous!

lilymolly · 22/09/2006 21:48

? dont understand that last post

marypoppins1972 · 22/09/2006 21:50

i was pointed in the direction of this thread by a friend of mine, who is a member here,i cant believe how sick some people are!!

i smelled a rat within seconds of reading the thread-what a load of tripe!!! someone is sitting there laughing at you all for believing her bs,we have had stuff like this on the site i am a member on and it really upsets people and leads them to mistrust new members-which is kinda sad!

kittywits · 22/09/2006 21:51

A troll is someone who posts deliberately false and misleading threads . There aim is to disrupt and upset. They are not part of the normal MN community, they might post under many different names in order to evade 'capture' !

2plus2plus1 · 22/09/2006 22:00

Hi,

There was a message on one of the other threads from MNHQ politely asking us to let this rest.

I didn't understand 3andnomores post either [need a puzzled emoticon]

3andnomore · 23/09/2006 10:57

Trollhunter being someone who seeks out and outs trolls...it's just a jokey term!Sorry to confuse!
