mummyk I checked my bag yesterday, all I need to put in there is a change of clothes but I can always get dh to grab me some if I stay in a day or so.

my local hospital is ashford in Kent. I'm booked for my induction Friday. how long do they eave you to get on with the labour once you're induced?

Mummyk1982 · 30/03/2014 22:00

east your probably not far from me- my choices were Epsom or East Surrey- I'm at East Surrey. Not sure what their plan is til they've seen me tomorrow- I think they give any pessarys or gels at least 24 hrs to work before suggesting the dreaded drip!!.
We live at least 20 mins from hospital so need to make sure I've got all I need :-)

East1985 · 30/03/2014 22:59

I think it can be 24 hours but let's hope if I'm ready that it is quicker. I think they can also send you home but I would rather stay in hospital and be monitored tbh!

Not too sure what they do but let's hope they get things moving quickly.

Had monitor on for ages- am actually having contractions all by myself! So now awaiting doctor to review as they can't induce if I'm already in labour!! I wondered if I was having contractions- they're not painful as such, I just get backache sometimes and my bump gets tight. Hey ho! Fingers crossed we avoid induction!!!

K8eee · 31/03/2014 12:38

brilliant news mummyk! I have everything crossed for you! Smile (apart from my legs! I would like to avoid having an April fools baby!) Grin

CristaBell · 31/03/2014 18:22

That's great news mummy

Hope all is going well for you both :)

Mummyk1982 · 31/03/2014 19:11

Getting bored now. Been here all day- they've not done anything because of the contractions. Now they're still trying to decide what to do!!

CristaBell · 31/03/2014 22:32

Oh no what a nightmare, fingers crossed your contractions start becoming more regular and get stronger so they don't have to make a decision on what to do! Good luck x

How you getting on East ?

I got 2nd attempt at sweep tomorrow so fingers crossed :)

CristaBell · 01/04/2014 22:22

Any news mummy & East? Hope all is going well. x

K8eee · 01/04/2014 22:43

Anyone...? hopefully it means things have progressed and they're busy cuddling their babies Smile Grin

Mummyk1982 · 02/04/2014 16:55

Hi!

Well, they decides to give me the propess at 10pm on Monday, it then caused hyper stimulation and I was contracting one on.top of the other with less than 30 seconds break between by 2am (4 hrs later) so they removed it. Said contractions would probably stop; they didnt. On had and air by 3am. Felt like a big change by 7am- just couldn't cope. Checked me- was 4cm so got me ready for delivery suite- then as they were wheeling me round my body started lurching and pushing- delivered her with in 40 minutes of being 4cm dilated! Poor hubby didn't get there in time :-(

She's perfect though- Madeleine Olivia, weighed 7lb 8oz, born 1st April and 8.58am. Got a second degree tear- not surprised!! So rather sore, but she is worth every second of the drama that was her birth story ;-)

Hope all the other mummys are ok and there's some more stories to hear? Xx

greentshirt · 02/04/2014 22:59

I know I wasn't overdue but as I have been keeping up with you girls thought you should know that my baby arrived this morning at 38+6 at home at 5.34 after a fast 4 hour labour weighing in at a big 9lb 5! Was dramatic, home water birth, shoulder dystocia resulting in 3rd degree tear so had to transfer in to be stitched in theatre with a spinal. So disappointed to have to stay in tonight, but very thankful as with a shoulder dystocia the potential outcome doesn't bear thinking about.

Good luck to those girls still waiting!

CristaBell · 03/04/2014 10:26

Congratulations mummy and well done it sounds like you have a pretty rough time. Hope you are both doing well and recovering nicely.

Congratulations greentshirt x

I'm 41+10 today :(

East1985 · 03/04/2014 10:31

Hi everyone

Congratulations to everyone that had their babies. I was induced on Monday and also had a bit if a traumatic time. It took about 12 hours for the propess to work but eventually I started contracting. By 5am Tuesday morning I was 5cm, could not cope with the contractions so I had epidural, baby's heart rate dipped so almost resulted in c-section. Lucky it went back up and at 12pm I was told to push.

Amber Lilly came at 13.48 weighing 9Ib 5. I was stitched for 45 mins and vomiting from the gas and air (sorry for tmi) but she is absolutely perfect and well worth the wait. Very contented and chilled baby too. I knew she would be a lazy baby
