Does your dh find you sexy in pregnancy?

My dh seems to find me more sexy/attractive despite my rapidly expanding bump, varicose veins etc

It does help me to get through the bad bits of pregnancy but I also find it a bit strange. Doesn't this huge tummy with a baby wriggling about in it put him off? It puts me off! But he seems to want sex more, not less.

Just wondered what other's experiences are.

Dh loved my pregnant self... especially the fact my boobs were huge :) he used to call me "Buddha" !

Cupcake11 · 12/01/2014 19:40

I don't know if he thinks it's more sexy but it definitely hasn't put my DH off sex Smile

middleclassdystopia · 12/01/2014 19:42

Yes the boobs seem to be a favourite!

I'm worried my post is weird but i'm just sitting here pondering and although I think pregnant women are beautiful, I'm not sure if I was a bloke i'd find it sexy if that makes sense.

Probably not! Think my hormones are playing up tonight!

In my first pregnancy my partner loved it and I was really horny so that worked out good.

VJONES1985 · 12/01/2014 19:53

I thing it's partly because it's a beautiful thing to see the woman you love carrying the baby you made together. And partly pheromones ;)

Yesterday dh got right up to my neck, sniffed me and said I have smelt different since I got pg. I guess it's hormonal!

Fairylea · 12/01/2014 19:58

Dh explained it by saying seeing a heavily pregnant woman naked is one of the most sexually exciting things as it's a woman in the most feminine of states - ie only a woman can be pregnant, if you fancy women it's a celebration of the female state in all its glory really!

Grumpyrealist77 · 12/01/2014 20:17

I found my wife incredibly sexy during both our pregnancies, although it did feel like a 'different' attraction!? In a positive way of course!

DW didnt feel quite the same way about herself which I think was more her feeling self-conscious, in a 'bigger' is not necessarily better kind of way, but yeah, if you love your partner, soon to be mother of your kids, you'll find her sexy no matter what.

I cant speak for all men of course and some of my friends have found their partners pregnant state a turn off.

I find my DW's faint stretch marks are the most beautiful thing about her post baby body as they constantly remind me of the gift she gave to our DS's (and to me!), even though DW hates them!

But yes, pregnant women are more attractive/sexy.

Writerwannabe83 · 12/01/2014 20:28

I think pregnant women look beautiful!!

I'm 29 weeks and I love standing in front of the mirror in just my pants, lol - I love my pregnant body!!

My husband still tells me I'm sexy but now when he looks at me when I'm named I see a sense of wonderment and pride too, not just lust. It must be amazing as a guy to look at the woman you love and know your baby is inside her Smile

Fedup1992 · 12/01/2014 22:37

Apparently he does! My boobs are just like two sandbags leaking ones!!!

I look pale and wear bloody leggins and jumpers or tshirts

God knows why he would find that sexyx xxx

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 13/01/2014 00:05

DP says yes, but sometimes the mounting aspect is a bit challenging! Hmm Confused Grin
Mind you, after 23 years of monogamy I suppose you have to take what you can get! Grin Wink

lilyaldrin · 13/01/2014 00:10

Yes, poor old DP loves me pregnant.

Unfortunately pregnancy completely kills my sex drive Grin

PastaandCheese · 13/01/2014 07:18

I know my DH doesn't and I worried endlessly about this in my first pregnancy.

I'm making him sound like a cock which he isn't. He is loving but late pregnancy doesn't turn him on and I know he thinks I'm too delicate at this point and he will hurt me.

The good news is he got over it very quickly last time and actually found my post natal body more sexy than before. I think he saw me in a new light after watching DD emerge from me with less complaint than he'd anticipated. He thought I was superwoman which was nice and unexpected as people worry birth will have the opposite effect.

SugarMiceInTheRain · 13/01/2014 07:22

Haha, I wish Grin Our sex life was pretty infrequent pre-pregnancy, now it's virtually non-existent! I'd be up for it still, despite being 35 weeks pregnant and looking like a beached whale!

ithaka · 13/01/2014 07:25

MY DH didn't find me especially sexy in pregnancy. That large, fertile, big boobed look is not really to his taste - I am usually a sporty little elf.

He did his bit, including very tricky intercourse at 42 weeks in an attempt to shift the damn thing.

It was not a problem - I didn't feel particularly sexy, DH wasn't especially turned on, so we were in the same groove. We still had a bit of sex, because you do, but it wasn't an especially sexy time for us.

Children are older now & sex life long since back to normal (ie filthy & fun).

Tea1Sugar · 13/01/2014 07:30

I loathe my pregnant body. I've always been a skinny Minnie about 8stone so having a beach ball up my top and pornstar boobs I feel so unsexy. Dp however tells me I'm the most beautiful he's ever seen me.

Ra88 · 13/01/2014 07:41

My dp still seems to find me sexy , but I agree I think it's in a different way.

Although only mentioning sex gets him going Wink .. Kinda annoying sometimes but great too

Writerwannabe83 · 13/01/2014 07:46

Oh tea - how far along are you and have you put much weight on?

I was a bit of a Skinny Minnie too, 8st 9 prior to pregnancy and now at 29 weeks I weigh over 10.5 stone Shock I am honestly surprised at how much weight I've already put on but growth scans are predicting a big baby! I'm trying not to think about how much more weight I may gain... Hmm. Thankfully it's all boobs and bump though and I haven't gone round anywhere else.....yet! Chest has gone from. 34C to 38DD so far - I'm fed up of buying new bras more than anything [ smile]

cathpip · 13/01/2014 07:48

Hmmmm, I'm not entirely sure! Well he likes the boobs, he's not sure on my bottom (apparently I have two, one either side :)). I think he just finds it amazing how big I get. This is dc3 and he still wants sex at nearly 30 weeks, so I can't be that much of a turn off, mind you after our last session he did offer to roll me over so I could get out of bed-arsehole!!

Tea1Sugar · 13/01/2014 09:40

writer I'm 26 weeks tomorrow. Started at 8st 4lb and I've put on about 23lbs already. Just weighed myself and I'm 9st 13lb. I have a massive bump, boobs have gone from 32c to 34dd and everyone tells me it's not gone anywhere else although I'm sure my arse and bump are in a state of equilibrium now. growth scan says baby is bang on average. It's just me who's getting fat. :(

Loopylouu · 13/01/2014 09:43

Well he says he does. But our sex life is now even more infrequent than it was before, so I'm not sure I believe him.

Writerwannabe83 · 13/01/2014 09:49

Someone put up a really helpful and informative post a few weeks ago about what the 'pregnancy weight' actually consists of and not much of it is 'fat' as such. Our blood volume nearly doubles and we retain water as well as have amniotic fluid so all that extra fluid is quite weighty. Apparently the placenta is quite heavy too. I suppose the rest is the body storing up fat in preparation for breast feeding. My friend recently had a baby, well, 7 weeks ago, she was very slim to start with and put on a good chunk of weight but now she is practically back down to what she was before pregnancy which she says is definitely down to the breast feeding - the amount of calories you burn is significant!!

I also read somewhere that slimmer women are more likely to gain weight - I'm not sure what the reasoning behind it is though.

I have tried to stop eating as much chocolate but I had 2 Cadburys Creme eggs yesterday and a Terry's Chocolate Orange so I'm not doing too well Grin

The way I look at it is, I'm pregnant, I'm going to get bigger and so just embrace it. One of my relatives and best friends keeps calling me Fatty though which I don't appreciate at all Hmm DH has nicknamed me Tubby but I just started calling him the same thing back and strangely he started going to the gym last week Grin

QuinionsRainbow · 13/01/2014 10:50

In a word - Yes!

QuinionsRainbow · 13/01/2014 10:53

Perhaps should qualify that there was an implied past tense in my previous post. Haven't been pregnant for the best part of two decades.

SaucyJack · 13/01/2014 11:03

Yep, he's still up for it.

I think it's as much about himself as it is about me tho. It's his first child and the silly sod has managed to convince himself he's some sort of prize-winning stallion Grin

It's definitely brought out his inner caveman (in a good way!)

Julietee · 13/01/2014 11:15

I love the look of my round bump (not so much the fat I've put on as it's grown though!).
DH says he finds me sexy but that has very rarely translated into sexy times. So I don't know.
