Hi girlies!

Just a moan really, I'm due in 10 days time and feeling rather tired and generally poop! Not to mention that I look like a haggered umpa-lumpa!
The thought of getting all dressed up for NYE tonight is, quite frankly, foul! As I know no matter how much make up I slap on, and have brought a sparkly maternity dress, I will still feel horrific.
Anyone else feeling the same? What are you all doing to welcome 2014?
Were off to a friends party but I think I would rather be sat in my pjs watching Jules Holland with a hot chocolate in hand! What a bore!!

We're doing our usual meal out with friends and my stupid "I'm on antibiotics" lie is starting to wear thin. I think our friends have guessed the real reason but hey ho.

nyldn · 31/12/2013 12:26

I've given up and I'm telling our friends at dinner. 9.5 and I'm so over all the excuses. If I'm not drinking on NYE, they'll know anyway. Out of character for me to pass on a drink Wink Glad its only very close friends that I would tell bad news to as well.

24 weeks and I'm staying in with a DVD and Chinese. Fortunately dp is awesome and is staying in with me :)

VJONES1985 · 31/12/2013 12:37

I wish I could tell my friends but dh won't let me until 12 weeks! Seems silly as I'm sure they've all guessed.

DiminyCricket13 · 31/12/2013 12:46

Tea1sugar, that sounds like my idea of heaven!

Good luck to all of you.. How exciting if you're telling friends tonight! I guess the old 'I don't feel like drinking tonight' isn't going to work is it...

My dh said the same then got drunk at Xmas and told a bunch of people! Gotta love that he's excited, haha!

BikeRunSki · 31/12/2013 12:50

Not pg, just have a 5 yo and a non-sleeping 2 yo. NYE will be a take away and Jools Holland.

OhCaptainDarling · 31/12/2013 12:52

I'm nearly 37wks..CS in 2 wks. Haven't been feeling well at all, cancelled our plans tonight.

Have brought some yummy food from waitrose! No doubt I'll be in bed by 11pm!

VoodooChimp · 31/12/2013 14:32

37 weeks here and I'm feeling beyond grim :(

We rarely go anywhere exciting on NYE anyway due to lack of babysitters, so I'm saying in with DH and DD. PARTY ON!

Stom91 · 31/12/2013 14:44

40+10 here and majorly fed up.
It doesn't even feel like NYE
It will be a quiet one with me and dp watching crappy tv I may have a small glass of wine and lemonade but that's it really.
Feeling proper miserable. :/
Hope these babies start arriving for you soon ladies!!

SweepTheHalls · 31/12/2013 14:52

Go and party!Wine I did this time 5 years ago, and tomorrow DS is 5 Grin

Norem · 31/12/2013 15:04

Second the advice to go out and dance, dance dance.
I went to a wedding at 38 weeks with ds4, a friend had done a brilliant playlist and I couldn't stop dancing, seriously freaked a few people out as I did NOT have a neat bump :)
Baby arrived 36 hours later, go for it !

SugarMiceInTheRain · 31/12/2013 15:08

32+4 here I think though to be honest I've lost track. I can't even be bothered to see in the New Year. Christmas has been too manic, slept til 9am this morning (unheard of seeing as we have a 7 and 5 yo) but don't feel any better for it. I'd like to have a takeaway in front of the TV, but having looked at our bank balance we seem to have spent nearly half of DH's wages (paid early due to Christmas) which are supposed to be lasting til the end of January, so I guess I'll have to cook something... and I really ought to tidy as I can't see the living room floor for presents/ Christmas related tat. At least we have no plans so I won't be letting anyone down if I fall asleep before the stroke of midnight.

Stom91 hope your baby arrives really soon. And hope the others who are close start getting a move on.

TobyLerone · 31/12/2013 15:10

Oh, OP, I'm about to make you jealous.

I'm 39+2 and am staying home in my pjs tonight with DH, DD (12) & DS (14). We're having Waitrose party food, crisps, dips, cheese, chocolate and Prosecco.

Well, I'll have a glass of Prosecco. The DC will have half a glass each, and DH will manage the rest by himself, I'm sure :o

Stom91 · 31/12/2013 15:18

Thanks sugar being induced on Thursday but was hoping to avoid that!! Midwife said yesterday I'll be very unlucky if I don't to into labour before Thursday as cervix is very ready.
But haven't had any inkling at all so I think invert unlucky lol.

Got sick of looking at the Xmas decs so they can down on the 27th lol

Stom91 · 31/12/2013 15:19

I'm very *

TobyLerone · 31/12/2013 15:21

Stom, I feel your pain. I've been induced at 2 weeks over both times so far. I'm so desperate this time to go into labour by myself. I know how you feel!

Anothermrssmith · 31/12/2013 15:25

37+4 and being induced on Monday. Tonight's plans involved watching crap tv with a bottle of alcohol free cider and some party food with the husband and going to bed about 12.05am! Tomorrow we'll continue the 'celebrations' by going to buy a washing machine in the sales.

To be fair we may have ended up doing that even if I wasn't pregnant, lol.

Stom91 · 31/12/2013 15:28

toby I'm not too worried about the pessary I really really don't want the drip. The drip scares me and I don't wana just be sat on the bed being monitored all the time especially as I wanted a water birth!!
My cervix is soft etc so hoping I can get away with them just popping my waters.

TobyLerone · 31/12/2013 15:30

Me neither, stom. I had the drip the first time and that led to constant monitoring/epidural etc. It all turned out fine in the end, though :)

2nd time they just broke my waters and it was great. Fast and no pain relief of any kind. A million times better!

Good luck :)

Stom91 · 31/12/2013 15:54

Yea I don't want epidural either.
This baby is far too comfy for my liking lol

Thanks. You too :)

HoHoHopelessAtNamingBabies · 31/12/2013 17:03

Also overdue. Staying in and having a glass of champagne with DH. My MW reckons the bubbles may get things moving Wink

RedRobin1 · 31/12/2013 17:11

39 weeks today and planning on doing nothing for New Year's Eve. PJs, takeaway and fireworks on the beeb!

Looking forward to all the babies arriving in 2014 Smile

puggywug81 · 31/12/2013 17:44

28 weeks here, OH is working nights so just me in my pj's with the dog, some ginger beer and nibbles, I will be watching red dwarf dvd's until I fall asleep on the sofa!
