Am I pregnant or am I just looking for signs and trying to convince myself I am?

Hi everyone. I am a newby here :)
Hubby and I have been trying for a baby for 4-5 months (only tried really "properly" for 2 or 3 months i.e. I made sure we did plenty of homework around ovulation time!). I am 32, hubby is 40. We have no children.
My last period was on December 1st. I don't know if I am looking for signs or if I could be pregnant... For the past week I have been getting sore / erect nipples, breasts feel a bit fuller. Caught myself looking in mirror and thinking veins are really visible above my breasts too, not sure it was like this before... I occasionally feel like a "pinch" in the lower back area where I am usually in pain when I am PMS. Tummy cramps and really gassy (I am a dream come true at the minute!). I seem to do a lot of sleeping but then again my sleeping patterns are always a bit all over the place.
Today I lost the plot at hubby for no reason, got really angry and ended up sobbing my eyes out for 10 minutes....
Hubby thinks I am pregnant but it is too early to test and I don't want to be disappointed. Plus given our ages, I think maybe it is going to take longer? Most my friends have had to try for 8 months plus before they got pregnant.
This wait is unbearable, could I be misreading PMS for pregnany and try to convince myself??

Have been here. All I can say is that I would hope for the best, but be prepared for disappointment. There's no point trying to work out the odds - you either are pregnant or you aren't so you have a fifty-fifty chance every month really.

Having said this, if all these things are not things you would normally have before your AF, then maybe you are... I have my fingers crossed for you. Don't test until the day after you're due, it'll come out negative regardless and just really piss you off!

Thank you Champagne Tastes!!! I bought pregnancy tests today and thought "nope, don't do this!"... this wait is sooo annoying hehe :)

Good luck OP. I always know I'm pregnant before I can test because of gas, I sware my hiccups start 4 seconds after implantation.
The waiting is horrible. Get on the Friday testing bus in conception where you can talk to other women driving themselves insane guessing until pee day Grin
Xxx

Have you spotted that MN has a 'Conception' forum?

I think you might find it helpful to have a browse there - there are both factual and chat threads where you will find expertise and (unlike in 'pregnancy' where most posters are pg) people going through similar.

(You might even want to ask MNHQ to I've this thread to that topic - you may well get more responses).

OOOMMMMGGGG!
Been doing lots of pregnancy tests as I am feeling more and more symptoms and I have been having this intuition I am preggers from week 1.
Chucked the last pregnancy test in the bathroom bin as it was a no again. Hubby came back 10 minutes later and said "is it normal there are two lines on the test you chucked away in the bin?!"
It is a very very faint line but it's definitely there
OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's exactly what I did OP...but it took me 4 days to notice the positive test in the bin!

Huge congratulations x

Congratulations!

Chat thread for those due in September already exists and is here.

Hubbythecatandme · 26/12/2013 20:44

Thank you!!! Part of me is thinking it's not real like maybe you get a line if it stays in the bin too long hahaha!
I can't believe it's happened!
I knew the very sore boobs, water retention, cramps and going mental for no reason was unusual!!!!!
