A good friend who made a huge effort for me on my (pregnant) birthday this year is having a fancy dress birthday party with the theme 'things beginning with the letter N'.

Assuming I haven't had the baby by then, I'll be 39+2.

What on earth can I go as?! Any clever ideas? Please help me!

(And I don't feel remotely sexy or naughty so no nuns/nurses or 'naughty something' suggestions please!!)

And as my OH is going, so we could go as some sort of coupled N pair (if we could think of anything....!)

Thanks!

Big circle on your bump and be a nought!

MrsKwazii · 21/09/2013 22:11

Errrr, dress in orange with a green leaf on a hairband and say you're a nectarine? Grin

Trumpton · 21/09/2013 22:12

Nightie and your OH can wear a night shirt ?

MrsKwazii · 21/09/2013 22:12

Or a navel orange Wink

2tired2bewitty · 21/09/2013 22:14

big sign on your belly that says 'nearly'?

piemashandliquer · 21/09/2013 22:14

Wear a blue top and go as Neptune?

Bazoo23 · 21/09/2013 22:15

Netball player? Easy and comfy.

MrsKwazii · 21/09/2013 22:15

Or DH as a NASA astronaut and you as newly discovered planet?

Definitelysometime · 21/09/2013 22:15

You could go as Nessa (Gavin and Stacey) in her pregnant days - if you can face fish nets and leather!

MrsDavies · 21/09/2013 22:15

you could dress as an old woman and go as a nan? Grin

dopeysheep · 21/09/2013 22:16

Go as that big dog from Never Ending Story, you could just wear a big fleecy onesie and a mask.

SarahNoDuck · 21/09/2013 22:16

'natal, newborn, neurotic, nemo, nappy, Noddy, ninja - bath robe, baggy trousers and head band Grin

r3dsquirrel · 21/09/2013 22:17

Wear green and be planet Neptune. You could wear a headpiece with stars hanging off it and blacktights.

BunInMyOven93 · 21/09/2013 22:17

nun!! would be ironic with a bump xx

MrsKwazii · 21/09/2013 22:17

Or, or, or get your OH dressed as Nell Gwynne the orange seller and go as the navel orange!

AndThatsWhatIThinkOfYou · 21/09/2013 22:18

Nan is a good one, charity shops are brill they almost always have the matching two pieces with an elaborate matching pattern.

dopeysheep · 21/09/2013 22:18

Or just put on some geeky glasses and a waistcoat/labcoat and say you are a nerd?

cece · 21/09/2013 22:19

Not dressing up - then wear whatever you like.

WandaDoff · 21/09/2013 22:19

I went to a fancy dress party at 37 weeks as a Nun.

I didn't feel sexy, but it was just about the most comfy costume I've ever worn.
The Ex's costume was black shirt & trousers & a bit of white cardboard from a cereal box for a dog collar.
He went as the 'Father' Grin

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 21/09/2013 22:22

No help at all, but I really want to do fancy dress as a Minion!
I like the nectarine suggestion! Grin

iklboo · 21/09/2013 22:22

Get some black PJs & go as a ninja.

MammySam · 21/09/2013 22:33

Nanny plum off Ben and Holly?!
Native American
Nelly the elephant (!)
Noah off Noah's ark
Nudist (hehe sorry!)
Ooh Norma Jean Baker (Marilyn Monroe!)
Nutty Professor
Nigella Lawson (nice jumper and skirt plus baking implements and if you don't have dark hair already, a dark wig!)

Sorry I'm not very helpful am I?!

Best of luck finding something suitable!
:D

Wandadoff I love it. I feel bad I was going to suggest something along those lines.

Maybe a Neanderthal?

Doinmummy · 21/09/2013 22:40

Both dress head to toe in brown and go as a pair of nuts

TobyLerone · 21/09/2013 22:42

Definitely nun.
