Took coming off the implant on to the pill, then getting sickness bug 4 weeks later a positive pregnancy test, best feeling of my life!

Essexgirlupnorth · 15/08/2013 19:54

16 months had just been to fertility clinic and had tests done. Got BFP while waiting to see the consultant.
Already know I had PCOS so not unexpected to take that long.

roweeena · 15/08/2013 19:54

9 months with first, 2 months with second

Holly94 · 15/08/2013 19:55

Accidentally missed a pill, few weeks later couldn't understand why I was feeling so rubbish and had a vague niggle something funny was going on down there - constantly feeling like I was about to have a really heavy period but never any bleeding. Decided to buy a Boots cheap test just to 'make sure I definitely wasn't pregnant'.
Pure panic when the pink line appeared.
Must have ovulated in the 24 hours I forgot my pill!
Now 16 weeks and having come to terms with the shock very excited :)

ShootMeNowPlease · 15/08/2013 19:59

Four and a half years. We were going to start IVF treatment the next month.

ChildOfThe1980s · 15/08/2013 22:26

11 months, then 8 months. I have PCOS.

Misty9 · 15/08/2013 22:33

Umm, well we weren't really trying for ds (and had only dtd once in four months) and we've just fallen pg again when not really trying after one time in a couple of months...

I've told dh he needs to think about the snip after this one! Grin

Frizz1986 · 15/08/2013 22:35

2 weeks.. I had told Dh to expect it would take up to 9 months so was a bit of a surprise to us and others. Plus due to my last period starting on my wedding day people seem to think it's a wedding night baby as it's been 19 weeks since the wedding so am 19 weeks pg (clearly they don't understand how all the dating works)
I fully expect that it will take much longer next time and we have just been lucky.

Sleepthief · 16/08/2013 07:51

A couple of months first time, but weren't really, really trying IYSWIM. 18 months second time, despite ov sticks, regular, timely DTD and changes to diet, lifestyle etc. We weren't exactly trying (but not exactly not either) third time round, but thought it would take ages - if at all - after second experience. There are 21 months between DC2 and 3. On the pill this time, so definitely not trying. DC4 due in January Grin

charliedrinks26 · 16/08/2013 08:01

Took us 3 years !! I have pcos and dh has low sperm count!!! I was on my 3rd cycle of taking clomid! Massive shock but worth the wait :) xxxx

TobyLerone · 16/08/2013 09:25

I can't remember. Pretty much immediately, I think, but I had 2 MCs first.

Then DC2 was a surprise when DC1 was 9 months old.

This time around, it took a good few months. I put it down to my age (I was 21 with DC1. I'm 35 now), but it has since been discovered that I have a few fairly large fibroids and it was far less likely that I'd get pregnant at all.

SeriousStuff · 16/08/2013 09:28

3-4 weeks. We were planning on starting later this year, but as I'm 32 we decided to start sooner in case we encountered any problems. Seems not! Took a while to sink in...

Jojoslilones77 · 17/08/2013 22:14

Four weeks first dd in 2002 been Actively trying since 2012 doc says need lose weight even though lost 2 stones in last year still hoping at will be 37 and hubby 42 next bday xx positive new baby vibes please lol x

ListWriter · 17/08/2013 22:26

3 years, 3 ivf cycles but DS was worth the wait

princesscupcakemummyb · 17/08/2013 23:09

4-5 years but then i wasent consistent with ttc i decided it would happen when it would happen other wise i think it would have been alot quicker

Emilily · 17/08/2013 23:35

First month we tried. Nearly fell off the toilet in shock as we spent the first decade of our relationship clubbing - I'd assumed it taking us ages to conceive.

AmandaCooper · 18/08/2013 00:04

3 years to persuade DH and then first cycle of trying.

louloubellamozzarella · 18/08/2013 16:05

About 20 months... I was on cerazette and it took about a year for my cycles to get back to anywhere near normal. Both healthy - I'm late 20s, etc etc... Was habit first lot of tests for infertility then bam. You just never know...

louloubellamozzarella · 18/08/2013 16:05

Was *having not habit!

CheeseAndFriedMushrooms · 18/08/2013 16:10

6 months. Used the clearblue fertility monitor for the last two

windywoo26 · 18/08/2013 16:10

First time round implant taken out in Sept and took 9 months but had mc . Post mc took 10 months. For baby 2 we expected similar wait but was pg 1st cycle after stopping the mini pill.

Sarahmains40 · 18/08/2013 16:29

6 weeks and I am now 6 weeks pregnant

PumpkinPie2013 · 18/08/2013 16:47

3 cycles after being on the pill for about 7 years. I'm 26. 25 weeks along now and very excited Smile

Gonnabmummy · 18/08/2013 19:40

First month, it was around 3 week. Decided to try popped dates of last period in tried for a week when it said the best time was then got positive Xmas eve Grin

FatPenguin · 18/08/2013 21:35

Same as cheesesndfriedmushrooms - 6 months, tried for 4 months then used clear blue monitor for last 2 months. It was really helpful as otherwise I wouldn't have known I was a 'late ovulater'
