Bleeding this morning, advice please

Am 11 weeks pregnant and had a browny discharge this morning and again when I got to work and am a bit worried. Is it better news that it is brown and not bright red?

As it happens I have an appointment with the midwife so I can ask her this afternoon but am a bit panicky.

Can they test for a heartbeat this soon? Don't have my scan until Feb 11 and don't think I can wait and worry that long.

Yes, I'd say it's a good sign that you still feel pregnant. I had brownish bleeding at 10 weeks, soon turned red and mc confirmed. But I'd lost all pregnancy symptoms about 2 weeks earlier. So keep positive; hope things go well for you.

Does anyone know how OliveOil is?? I can't find a message from her anywhere????

handlemecarefully · 05/02/2004 09:13

She posted on the 3rd Feb under Other Subjects ('Careful in this rainy weather crossing the road' - so I imagine she is probably okay and that whilst she is still waiting for her scan things have settled down?

handlemecarefully · 05/02/2004 09:13

Bloody smiley should not have crept in there. Argggh - hate it when that happens

M2T · 05/02/2004 09:14

Quacks - She was posting a lot yesterday and the day before and seems in high spirits so hopefully everything is okay.

Thanks guys!

oliveoil · 06/02/2004 13:30

Sorry, I should have updated but have been in head-in-the-sand mode. I haven't had any further bleeding so decided not to go to the Early preg unit and am going to wait for my scan on Wednesday next week.

I am a fairly positive person so am trying to pretend all is well even if it may not be. There is nothing I can do either way so I will just have to deal with whatever they say next week.

Fingers crossed.

Me again. Final update: had scan this morning and all is well, little arms and legs wriggling about and I saw the heartbeat. Dh was over the moon and clutched the scan photo like his life depended on it.

So so relieved that everything is ok, thank you to everyone who posted their concern

Hi Everyone,
First time on this thread. Have had orangey red discharge all day. Any advice anyone it would be appreciated.

Thanks Love Diddums

Quackers · 07/03/2004 20:38

Hi Diddums, how far gone are you?? Do you have an EPU just to put your mind at rest? Or maybe you could call your GP or even hospital maternity unit if you;re far enough on. How is it now?

eyelash · 08/03/2004 08:37

Diddums - can you get an early scan to assess the pregnancy. You must be 8ish weeks now so they should get a good view of the heartbeat and the baby. If it is any consolation I have had on-off bleeding due to a cervical erosion which is common in pregnancy. It doesn't affect the baby but does cause stress levels to rise!

Best of luck.

piglit · 09/03/2004 07:30

Should I do anything about a tiny bit of spotting on Sunday morning? (I've laready posted on October thread) I called midwife at hospital when it happened and said probably ok - lots of rest and probably cervical erosion. It was watery red and only a tiny bit of blood but it has totally freaked me out. I am 10 weeks pg. I don't want to hassle the doctor/midwife but I'm out of my mind with worry....

marthamoo · 09/03/2004 07:35

Piglit, has it stopped now? Your MW is right, it is probably nothing to worry about - BUT if you are "out of your mind with worry" then you are obviously not reassured by that. Can you arrange for an early scan, just to put your mind at rest? Don't worry about being a nuisance to the doctors/midwives - that is what they are there for! Poor you, I've been there - I had intermittent bleeding with my third pregnancy (result of which is shouting in his room right now, so gotta go!) Take care xx

piglit · 09/03/2004 08:34

Thank you sooooo much for your reassurance. It was literally only a small spot of blood on Sunday morning and I'm sure I'm being over anxious but it's amazing how much that can make you worry! I've had terrible nausea and heartburn for weeks and that didn't seem so bad yesterday so, of course, I was imagining all sorts. I'm going to speak to my GP today and see if they can get me an early scan.

Thanks - will keep you posted. xxxx

madgirl · 09/03/2004 08:53

let us know how you get on piglit. diddums how are you? i had lots of spotting between weeks 5 and 8 and a 2 day period-style bleed week 5 but i am now 22.4 weeks touch wood doing fine. good luck to both of you. mg.

piglit · 10/03/2004 16:23

I had my scan this morning and everything was fine. I can't describe the relief! I also had my dates confirmed - 10 weeks today.

I hope the next 30 weeks aren't as stressful....!

marthamoo · 10/03/2004 16:25
