Hiya - apologies if there is another thread on this subject, but haven't seen anything specific!

I'm 5 weeks pregnant with my first (due 1st April) and wondered if there was anyone else in the same boat? Would be lovely to have a support thread for people due around the same time.

A bit of background about me - I'm 34 and live in London. I only got married in June, so the speed of BFP is unexpected. Thought we'd have had a bit more time to recover from paying off the wedding before saving for baby stuff/maternity leave!

Anyone else...?!

Am I allowed to join - due 1 March, but discovered late so still getting used to the idea!?

I'm 39, live in Kent, got pregnant 2nd month off the pill... So much for fertility declining with age.

Novia · 31/07/2012 11:03

Hi Panic! That's so exciting - there are at least two of us then! :)

I'm first month off the pill, so know exactly what you mean. I just thought it was my periods taking a while to kick-in post-pill! Lovely surprise though.

How are you feeling? Have you been sick?

Gx

I'm due 20th February so about 10 weeks atm, hadnt realised I was that far on until I met with my GP yesterday, always a bonus to realise its closer thank you thought!

sundaesundae · 31/07/2012 14:08

Hi I'm (by LMP) 7 weeks and a bit and due mid/late March. Feeling very nervous as this is technically by third pregnancy (had to terminate for med reasons the first, mc the second), so fingers crossed for this one!

Symptoms beginning to kick in now, I find them very reassuring! 5 weeks to go till scan and things I guess, that feels like forever!!

Congratulations gang!

panicnotanymore · 31/07/2012 14:15

Hey Novia - I'm lucky, not sick at all, quite the opposite, I can't stop eating! I keep having bleeds though so am having my fair share of upsets to date. There is nothing easy about this expectant mother lark Grin

Ratbagcatbag · 31/07/2012 16:22

Hi Novia. I'm down as April 1st too, Yey.

I'm feeling sick too, not in the morning but anytime after lunch right through to bed time and I'm knackered all the time. I found out Saturday I was.
I have a 13 yo DSS, but no sproglets of my own yet.

Hope everyone is fab, and I'm so happy to be in a gang Grin

Ratbagcatbag · 31/07/2012 16:24

Oh and I'm 29 and ave been trying or around two years, was of the if it happens it happens school of thought. DH is 19 years older than me and also excited.

Hevaniceday · 31/07/2012 16:30

I'm 26, got married May last year and we have been trying since mid Feb this year, found out about 2-3 weeks ago we're having a baby :D Just got confirmation last night that im 10 weeks, bit of a shock as hadn't realised I was quite that far on.

Reasurring that I have missed some of the most yucky time, still feeling nauseous 90% of the day and exhausted constantly :(

My DSD doesnt know yet, not sure when the best time really is to explain the situation with her, unfortunately, her birth mother is less than supportive of the situation.

Still completely over the moon and super excited !!!

sundaesundae · 31/07/2012 16:43

I'm 29, we were trying for one month (hubby got me preggers on the coil 3 years ago, we call him the super stud! unfortunately I had to have a termination due to complications of the coil).

I told my boss on Friday, haven't told my Mum yet, but my sister knows. Kinda want to see bean before we tell people, had to tell boss as I work with radiation.

My boobs are KILLING me, they are getting worse if anything.

Dogsmom · 31/07/2012 16:59

I'm 8 weeks tomorrow, it's taken 3 years of no contraceptive to get the first bfp so was quite a shock, had awful sickness, a rotten cold and huge sore boobs, other than that I feel great, lol.

I'm 37, hubby is 43 and we think we'll look like grandparents at the school gate.....

Novia · 31/07/2012 17:27

Yay - this is lovely guys, we've got our own little community and a safe place to moan/cheer! Ace that there are so many of use and exciting to have a date-twin too (waves!) Grin

I've got my first doctors appointment tomorrow night for my midwife referral. Haven't had many symptoms yet though; no sickness (not looking forward to that!) or sore boobs but I've been v tired and starving! Also have mild cramping like low-level period-pain - hoping it's just bedding in firmly!

Anyone here had the first midwife appointment yet? Want to share what happens?! Smile

My sister tells me you don't get a booking in appt till 10 weeks and that they come to you and do lots of paperwork?

I have GP appt a week tomorrow (booked it ages ago for something else!)

Novia · 31/07/2012 17:36

Grapeuk - if you download a free ap such as BabyBump and put in the date of the first day of your last period it will give you an estimate! Smile Enjoy telling hubby - how lovely!

My sister was bugging me for dates so she could calculate mine for me!

My boobs are so sore right now that hubby wants to go for a walk when he gets in and I am going to have to say no cos they hurt tooo much. Ridonculous.

theTramp · 31/07/2012 19:02

Hi there, I am 7 weeks and presently feeling dreadful. Part exhaustion and part 'the fear'.

Had internal scan last week because previous health issues meant doctors wanted to check all was well, which it was. Went from being of the - doesn't feel real, likely to have a MC school of thought to - very excited (got to see tiny tiny baby heart beat and everyfink). The next day there was bleeding. Following slightly depressing weekend, went to doctor yesterday, frankly she provided advice no better than a shrug - could be normal spotting (spotting my arse, spotting does not suggest large dark bloody stains) or beginning of MC.

Plus side - I continue to remain consistently slightly nauseous (eating seems to help, I need to learn to graze) and my boobs are sooo sore. Also plus side as yet no serious cramps.

Minus side - bleeding is getting heavier, not lighter and hasn't stopped yet.

Doctor is suggesting I call and arrange another scan at end of week if still bleeding.

Anyone else going through this? I want to get excited but feel lilke if I do I'll be in for some serious heartache.

girlindevon · 31/07/2012 19:07

Hi ladies, congrats on all your news! Can I join? I'm 6 weeks with my first, bit of a surprise in the first month of trying!

Boobs massive and so sore! Feeling sick most of the time now but don't really feel like I can moan as only early. Telling my parents next weekend eeek!

NiceViper · 31/07/2012 19:17

You really need to be looking in Antenatal Clubs if you want to get together and chat - there's a link in the "Shortcuts" at the bottom of the page.

That's where you'll find people at the same stage of PG, or with other things in common. Otherwise the Pregnancy board gets swamped with chat, and those with important PG-related find it harder to get noticed.

Novia · 31/07/2012 19:18

TheTramp - you poor thing, sounds like a tough start. Fingers and toes firmly crossed for you - really hope it's just a blip. X

Here is the already active April 2013 thread.

Novia · 31/07/2012 19:26

NiceViper - thanks the heads-up, sorry for getting in the way on the board.

Girls - I've found a thread which is relevant for the April peeps... Or shall I recreate this thread over there? Let me know...!
