Hiya - apologies if there is another thread on this subject, but haven't seen anything specific!

I'm 5 weeks pregnant with my first (due 1st April) and wondered if there was anyone else in the same boat? Would be lovely to have a support thread for people due around the same time.

A bit of background about me - I'm 34 and live in London. I only got married in June, so the speed of BFP is unexpected. Thought we'd have had a bit more time to recover from paying off the wedding before saving for baby stuff/maternity leave!

Anyone else...?!

10 weeks today, duedate 25th of feb.. This is my first and a true miracle baby as i had been declared infertile, blocked tubes, hormone issues and ploycystic ovaries..tried 6 IVF all failed and then after three visits to a Daoist physician and acupuncturist I fell preggers naturally..Amazing!! I am knackered beyond beleif, feeling utterly spotty and rather unfit and fat..but hoping for the second trimester bloom and rise in energy levels..Smile

Hey can I join? Just did a pregnacy test last night. I am about 4 weeks.
Not sure exactly when my due date is as I haven't had a period yet. Just came straight off the pill, got a withdrawl bleed and 7 weeks later I appear to be pregnant.
I also got married in June and this has all happened a bit quicker than I expected. So lucky but know it is early days so trying to stay calm.

I am 10 weeks and have my midwife appt next week. Took nearly 2 yrs of trying so very excited. I had a couple of weeks of morning sickness but it seems to have died off this week. I've also had a blocked up nose for about 5 weeks, so annoying!

panicnotanymore · 31/07/2012 22:44

Hi theTramp I'm in the same boat, several heavy sudden bleeds to date, latest was last night. I've had one internal scan (all was well), and am going in for a second tomorrow.

I have had terrible care from the GP (told me to go home, buy some painkillers and wait to miscarry), no contact from the midwife, and the GP 'forgot' to refer me for under-active thyroid monitoring. Thank god for MN, or I wouldn't have known to ask. The scans I'm having I am paying for privately as no one on the NHS seems to give a toss.

I hope Obstetric care is a bit better elsewhere as I am losing faith.

theTramp · 01/08/2012 09:23

Panic - that sounds rubbish. I think I've received far better advice & care to date than you have. I hope your next scan shows all is well.

panicnotanymore · 01/08/2012 13:19

Hi Tramp I'm so relieved, just seen a consultant (privately) who confirmed baby and placenta are fine, and I'm far along now that miscarriage risk is low. I think I may just be one of those unlucky ladies who bleeds. He was not impressed by the lack of care I've had, and has given me all the info I need so that I can go back to the GP, tell them what I need, and insist I get it.

I was lucky to see this guy, he is a friend who saw me as a favour, and for the first time I feel reassured that someone gives a sh*t.

theTramp · 01/08/2012 19:01

Panic - really pleased to hear that all is well and that you have found a consultant who has provided you with the info you need to feel better.

Being a bookworm I bought a couple of books. One is a DK book called The Day by Day Pregnancy book. It is a monster, and probably has more info than I need but it is useful because it provides context and perspective. The other is Chritsin Hills pregnancy guide, which is effectively a to do list with a bit of practical advice. It reads a little bit like it started life as US focused but it has plenty of NHS info so perhaps not. I'd recommend both if you - like me - feel more comfortable the more you know.

panicnotanymore · 01/08/2012 19:37

Thanks - I'll look those books up Smile

girlindevon · 03/08/2012 17:40

Panic - that's great news, must be really reassuring.

I am realllllllly struggling with nausea this week, from morning to night and in the night. I am moaning on here because no one knows at work so I can't say anything and DH is going to start getting fed up with me! I'm only 6 weeks, (I think, around about that anyway), I think it would be easier if I could actually be sick, then I'd think I'd feel better after?

Yesterday regular eating helped, today it makes me feel worse so I've barely had anything. Feeling very sorry for myself and then guilty for whinging as I know that I am lucky to be in this position

theTramp · 03/08/2012 18:39

girl - have you tried nibbling ginger regularly? I added some to a smoothie and have been nibbling on stem ginger biscuits when start to feel nauseous. Also I have found eating little and often has really helped.. although I suspect I'm eating a bit more than little. It has helped me, either because I am just grazing a bit more or because it genuinely helps.

Also, I have started eating a banana at breakfast which really gets rid of the morning nausea, which seems to hit me mid commute.

girlindevon · 03/08/2012 20:28

I've been drinking lemon and ginger tea which seems to help, will try and stick with little and often food - just feel very incapable at the moment!

LuckyOwl28 · 04/08/2012 08:47

Congrats to you all!
I have literally found out about an hour ago that I'm pregnant with my first, I too am around 5 weeks so due early April too. Have done about 6 tests but hoping to go into a walk-in today to get a clearer picture and hospital referral as we're new to the area.
Still in shock, we have been trying on and off since September last year and were married October 2010. Hubby in the RAF so away a lot, plus I had a few complications with my smear results which set us back 6 months.
All worth the wait now though!

angeltattoo · 06/08/2012 06:19

Hi everyone Grin

Can i join? My period was die last Wednesday, i had a very bloody wee one morning, then just small amounts of blood when wiping, no PG symptoms at all.

Bough cheap Sainsbos test yesterday to rule out pg, I couldn't believe it when a cross started to show!

I was so convinced it would be a rule out test that I hadn't even told H i was doing it, he was a bit surprised when I ran out of the bathroom, shoved it in his face and said 'oh my god, do you see a cross?!' Grin

After a cry and a sit down, we drove to a pharmacy and bought 2 more types, we tested again and it seems we are pregnant!

I'm 30, married just over a year, were planning to TTC after christmas Blush

We are very happy, not slept much though! Planning on getting some folic acid ASAP and phoning GP this morning.

I've a tiny bit of blood this morning Sad but hope to have no more.

EDD 10th April!

Congrats to a of us!

theTramp · 06/08/2012 09:35

Congrats angel. Not sure if Boots are still running the offer but they did have pregnacare on a 3 for 2, which worked out a fair bit cheaper than the folic acid tablets and provides you with required nutrients.

sundaesundae · 06/08/2012 09:46

I bought 3 for a tenner in Asda last week for the Pregnacare, so that might be even cheaper!

angeltattoo · 06/08/2012 10:21

Thank you! Sitting at Drs now (they said come today) then straight off to get the vitamins! Can't stop GrinGrinGrin

theTramp · 07/08/2012 10:18

3 for a tenner is a proper bargain.

Novia · 07/08/2012 10:24

Hello new ladies! I did try and move this thread but no luck so far! :)

How is everyone feeling?

I have had the first hint of sickness over the last couple of days, but nothing major (yet!) I have got a terrible rash though which started on my left hip and is now on my right thigh, left hip and the top of my bum. It's really itchy and annoying. Doc says it isn't related to pregnancy but I think she's wrong as it just seems too much of a coincidence. I've got Piritine and steriod cream but it's not working :(

First scan booked for the 21st September which is exciting - I just want to fast-forward to then so that the scary hope-everything-is-okay bit is out of the way!

Hi!

Im 28. I found out a week ago I was pregnant with my first due on 1st April, it was very unexpected but very happy. Though it will certainly speed up my and the bf relationship only been together 9 months and had planned to start trying for a baby in a years time but fate wanted it for now.

Not having a bad pregnancy so far, slight bit of nausea now and again (though not sure if this is more nervous excitment) and slight pain in the side now and again.

Still waiting to hear from the midwife for my first appointment, already wishing it was April ;34 weeks, 237 days seems far too long

OfficialFlyingSquirrel · 09/08/2012 15:15

hello!
i found out today, probably 5 weeks along. Going to tell boyf tonight. Didn't expect it to happen this fast and am still in shock!
