Hi guys,

I was due yesterday and had a sweep yesterday. Woke up this morning from pains in my lower back which then transferred to pain in the front, they were coming every half hr.

Just went to the loo now and my mucus plug has gone - it was flegm like and browny/redy in colour. The pains have also come back they happen every so often maybe half an hr.

Does this mean labour is imminent? What shall i do? Friend said now is the time to have sex to get it all going - isn't it dangerous to have sex if the plug has gone?

I'm so nervous!!!!

Hi everyone! :o

Thank you all for your well wishes!

Baby Leo was born 15/2 at 15.50pm weighing 8lb 4oz!

In the end i had to have my waters broken and put on the hormone drip to speed things along as 2hrs later i was still only 4cm. Managed to have a vaginal delivery though without instruments but The pain was intensified!
Also lost 800ml of blood, things did NOT turn out the way i wanted or thought i would, and the sotry gets longer but hey got a lovely squishy baby at the end of it!

Good luck to all you ladies expecting out there!
x

Fantastic - congratulations on the birth of Leo (also love the name). Have been checking this thread daily Grin!

Hope you are recovering and having as much rest as possible - stay in your dressing gown for at least a week as it gives visitors the message that you are recovering from a major event and THEY should get YOU cups of tea, not vice versa!

Congratulations- well done

Noodles81 · 19/02/2012 22:33

Thank you all so much :)

He was born 40+6 on the wed and i was booked in for induction on the Fri - well done and thank you son!!

Unfortunately the bliss is a little overshadowed by the fact that i am pretty sure he has colic. I am now worried and scared and don't know what to do and feel quite down about it. When he cries i am so distressed as there is nothing i can do but i hear it's quite common - still i just feel it's one thing after another with me.

Congratulations noodles and welcome to the world little Leo, lovely name.

I don't know much about dealing with colic but I'm sure some ladies will be along soon with the usual MN great advice.

Rest up and enjoy lots of cuddles. I totally get the crying thing, I used to think ds was so LOUD it was like it went right thru my skull, when in actual fact it was like a tiny kitten pathetic meow - we are just programmed to respond to them!!

StarlightDicKenzie · 19/02/2012 22:48

Congratulations.

You know, he might just be hungry. In the countries where babies are carried constantly they never cry but feed on average every 24 minutes. Coukd you try something like that for a couple of days?

Boomerwang · 19/02/2012 22:52

Congrachoomalashuns!!!!

I was gonna say have a rest but you know...
