Best of luck today, CODwidow

Rugbylovingmum, I also had a ceasarean last time and I was very worried about being forced into a VBAC. The midwife has also referred me to a consultant to discuss options, but I'm really leaning towards another elective ceasarean at the moment as I think it would be best for me. My midwife said that a high number of VBAC births end in a caesarean anyway as they will not want you to labour for very long in case you rupture your scar, so I think they do like to monitor you closely to see how quickly you're progressing. They also don't like you to go overdue, either.

VeronicaSpeedwell · 19/10/2011 09:57

Thinking of you today CODwidow.

Rugbylovingmum · 19/10/2011 10:46

Thanks MarKettle - I don't really have any strong feeling one way or the other about having a VBAC or ELCS but if they want me to go for a VBAC then surely they have to give it the best possible chance of working. For me insisting you go into hospital early, having continuous monitoring which hugely restricts mobility and setting a timer are all likely to mean you end up with a c-section anyway in which case you might as well just go for the elective in the first place. I see the consultant at 20 weeks so will just have to see what his/her attitude is and make a decision then. My mum and aunt both had similar first labours to me (very overdue, failed induction, emergency c-section) but both went into labour a few days early with their second and had fairly quick uncomplicated labours so it's possible I could go the same way.

codwidow - hoping for some good news for you today

Am new to this thread - can someone add me to the list please? EDD 26/05/12.

Second child as already have a 2 year old son. Both clomid babies! Am feeling absolutely dreadful at the moment (8+4). I hardly had any nausea with DS so am a bit worried about this. I know people say it's a good sign to have symptoms but it is just so different to last time....had a scan at 7+6 and bean was measuring to dates and saw a "normal" (according to the doctor) heartbeat although she didn't measure it...have my next scan at 12+5 and really hoping all is ok. I seem to be so much more stressed this time around...

Montsti · 19/10/2011 15:42

Sorry only just saw the above comments. Am very sorry for your loss CODwidow...x

lucy23110 · 19/10/2011 15:53

VeronicaSpeedwell · 19/10/2011 17:09

Very sorry to see this codwidow, I had so hoped to come back to better news. Take care of yourself. x

CODwidow · 19/10/2011 20:40

Thank you for the messages widget I started bleeding in the early hours of Tuesday and went for a scan today and baby had stopped growing at 7 weeks I guess that was why I personally had no real symptoms to speak off, has been a real crappy day but I have 4 ds's to keep me busy.

Wommer · 19/10/2011 21:19

So so sorry CODwidow, thinking of you - lots of love xxx

dobbybono · 20/10/2011 10:29

hi, i'm 37 dd age 8,9 weeks ish i think, freaking telling work-they will not be happy

dobbybono · 20/10/2011 10:31

so sorry codwidow, thinking of you x

AstroNess · 20/10/2011 10:57

I just got out of my team meeting where one of the guys exclaimed that I was glowing when I went into the room...

I feel like sh*t, so I don't know what he was looking at!

I'm telling work today. I wanted to hold off until 12 week scan, but I just feel so rotten with MS. I didn't realise that any time off for pregnancy-related illness couldn't be counted against your sick days.

It also occured to me when thinking the worst that if anything bad did happen then I would want time off for this and it would be difficult to justify without manager knowing.

Did any of you tell your work yet?

How is everyone feeling today?

CrackersandCheese · 20/10/2011 11:08

PS. Have changed my name to CrackersandCheese as this is all I can stomach at the moment and AstroNess is a bit too obvious to people that might know me.

Crackersandcheese I like the name change! I have told my boss because of MS, I'm currently off with it because I work in a very smelly shop and that was making it unbearable. You should tell yours because if you're feeling really rotten you are entitled to some time to rest. You and the baby come first =)

I had a teenie tiny drop of spotting last night, coupled with slight period type pains. I went to see the doctor this morning who said he wasn't concerned and was highly sure that it was nothing, but he has referred me to the EPAC for a scan. I should be hearing back off them this afternoon with a date. I have been told to completely rest until my scan. So I'm sat here under my blanket worrying that something is going wrong.

CrackersandCheese · 20/10/2011 12:13

hippie just call me crackers, because to be fair, I am.

I wish I was tucked up in bed. Sorry to hear about your spotting. As it's only a little, try to think positive thoughts. Do you have any cramping too?

How did your work take it when you told them?

x

CrackersandCheese · 20/10/2011 12:20

Oops- I just read your post properly and you do say you're having period pains too. [hhmm].

Positive thoughts until the scan please.x

Hi ladies! Can I join too? Got my BFP on 15 Sept and due on 17 May '12. Currently 10 weeks but v anxious following a mmc a year ago which totally floored me. Got my first scan in a couple of weeks but find it so difficult to talk to RL friends about my worries - most of whom are healthily and happily pregnant without a care in the world at the mo. Really pleased for them, naturally, just can't wait for that to be me too!

Dozeyland · 20/10/2011 12:53

Welcome anicecuppatea, you're free to vent all you want here! I'm starting to get a bit panicky as after 4 days off with migraine & vomiting last week I now feel really well and full of energy. No MS, boobs not sore, normal levels of tiredness. Only thing that's keeping me sane is that no spotting or cramp & I get to book scan tomorrow...

Anyone else feeling totally (scarily) normal?

Crackers I told work a month ago as I didn't want to have to make excuses if I was suffering. Better that manager & hr know so you can take full advantage of maternity law (time off for antenatal appointments & rest in the day if you need it etc).
