If you breastfed, when did your period come back?

Only 6 months pp but thinking about baby number 2!

DD is EBF but has been sleeping through consistently since about 6 weeks. I thought this would trigger the return of my period, but nothing yet!

If you breastfed, when did yours come back? Is there anything that will make it more/less likely? Very aware the small age gap we wanted might not actually be possible unless I stop BF DD which I don’t want to do!

15 months both times.

Just over 8 months when I went back to work long days. Never stopped feeding at night. Had one period in July past and now 18 weeks with another baby. Still feeding at night.

I stopped bf DS at 14 months (it was only a before bed feed by that point) and never actually got my periods back before falling pregnant again with DD.

My period didn't;t return until a couple of months after I stopped nursing, so when my son had just turned two. But one of the main reasons I stopped was that we co-slept and he continued to nurse like a new-born all through the night every night.

About 26m...fully breastfeeding although maybe not at night for last 2 months!

14m for my daughter. Had one period and then got pregnant with my son. Daughter self-weaned a few months later, about half way through my pregnancy. Son is now 20m, a poor sleeper and utterly milk obsessed so I’m still feeding a lot and have had no signs of my period returning.

7 1/2 months I got my first period, stopped feeding at 8 months

I EBF DD1 and my period naturally came back at 8 months PP. That month I conceived DD2.

I EBF DD2 and my period came back at 6 weeks PP which was really annoying 🙈

I breast fed until my 1st child was around 11 months old, no noticeable periods but my second child was born 14 month after the first!
Despite breast feeding, my periods resumed around 4 months the second time round.

I am 8 months pp, baby is ebf, doesn’t take a bottle or a dummy and doesn’t sleep through (3-4 feeds a night, never slept through). He had a particularly bad bout of tonsillitis last weekend that resulted in a hospital admission. He didn’t feed through the night on the two nights we were there, Saturday and Sunday. My period returned Tuesday morning. He’s back to feeding during the night again now he’s better so I’m feeling particularly hard done by!

Maybe it depends on your age too?
first baby at 30 came back at 6 weeks, second baby after long gap at 38 at 12 months, still breastfeeding both times.

I breastfed to 10 months then my period came back 5 months after I stopped.

Same here! Hence only 13 months between my youngest two children! Daughter was fully breast fed until 4 months old when I left her with my mum for a week so she was bottle fed. I expressed while away and restarted breast feeding after the week, but too late, I conceived in that week gap! Did not actually have a period until youngest was five months old.

First I think was around 11 months and even then I felt cheated!

This time around, almost 7 months in and no sign, although every little twinge of a cramp I'm worried it's about to start!

@FiloPasty oooh interesting idea! I’m about to turn 30 though so you and I definitely don’t seem to correlate there!
