katie3677 · 28/05/2010 18:01

Fuck it, the Dr has just called to ask me to go in for a GTT, so obviously there was a problem with my bloods this week. Just what I need.
Sorry, feeling sorry for myself again, this has been a crap week and that hasn't made things any better. Nothing compared to what you are going through though MoM, sorry.

Rubena · 28/05/2010 18:24

Katie, sorry to hear that

I've just had a text from LadyT - They are having a nice time except the weather isn't the best. She has been able to read some posts but unable to reply still. She wanted to say how sorry she is to hear your news MoM and wanted me to send you her love and let you know she is thinking about you.

More soon - just got to bath ds

Veggiemummy · 28/05/2010 18:34

Katie Im sorry to hear that, was kind of hoping that had all resolved and the latest stuff was all just routine follow up checking thingys. Do you have any symptoms? Gosh you've got some stress to deal with at the moment. Feel free to vent.

Mom I was going to say there are probably threads on here that can help with grief but there are lovely ladies on here who have sadly been through this so they can help. Again feel free to rant or even if you just want to talk about stuff other than your loss we're here. I wish I could make you a casserole to pop in the freezer.

traceface · 28/05/2010 18:35

oh mom so sorry to hear that. Take care of yourself.
avocadoes hope you have a fabulous time away.
Our meet-up today was lovely . It was so nice to meet Summer and her dh and little E - he is so cute! He did make us chuckle pointing at a chipmonk and saying "dada" . babyZJ was quite obsessed with the horse, and kept holding my hand and leading me around, and babyJollyBear was so friendly and kept bringing us all gifts (buckets, spades, stones...) Fab to see ZJ and Jolly too All the tots were on good form - although babySummer had a bump to the head - hope he is ok now Summer.
DH has taken L off camping tonight so I'm home alone with P - I plan to get the ironing out of the way and catch up on a bit of recorded TV. I am such a party girl

Thanks everyone. Don't let me break the thread with my sad news; chatter away and I'll join in when I can.

Katie - Sorry to hear about your fears re: your bloods.

It has cheered me up to think of some of you having a meet up. Sounds lovely.

I have been looking around some of the miscarriage threads and they are helpful, thanks Veggie.

Rubena · 28/05/2010 18:57

Trace, glad you had a lovely day - are there any photo's?

Have finally met my (new) consultant, and she is so lovely really really nice and said it was no problem at all coming to her clinic. She examined me and dopplered etc and said I definitely don't have a divarication (which dh pointed out that he realized upon properly looking at me too - but still glad I got the opinion of the pro in the field!) She said that area is fine and baby seems happy and she suspects the pain (since I've had it a month as well) is something I've done lifting ds and I have probably strained a muscle or ligament in that area which can be super sensitive and not helped that the baby is transverse. So anyway, all good and basically she advised Paracetamol if it's really sore otherwise those heat packs and not to lift ds any more than I have to then it should feel better soon. I am much relieved and she also talked me through her op procedure and it actually sounds better than I had last as she will use for the outer layer, subcutaneous disolvable stitches rather than that line with the bobbles on each end (which I had last time and the ends get a bit sore rubbing on underwear etc which is why she said she doesn't use them - great to have a lady surgeon who totally understands)

traceface · 28/05/2010 19:00

rubes she sounds ace. Glad she was better than expectations! I stupidly forgot my camera today but ZJ and Summer both had cameras so we might have some pictures on the way...

Rubena · 28/05/2010 19:04

Oh Mom, I didn't mean to post all that in such length, now that I've read back.

I hope you get some cheerfulness into you. There is a reason for this, although I know it doesn't make it any easier. I'm crap at saying the right things but if there is anything I can do I really would love to.

Rubena · 28/05/2010 19:05

Hoping ZJ and Summer will FB some?

MomOrMum · 28/05/2010 19:19

Rubes Thank you, but really...post away! I love keeping up with all your news.

SummerLightning · 28/05/2010 19:44

Hello everyone,
mom very sorry to hear your sad news. Please take care of yourself and thinking of you.
Just a quick one as on phone. Just to say that E seems ok after his bump to his head (which was entirely my fault as I tripped over with him on my shoulders). He has some scrapes down his face but is his normal self so not too worried now.
Lovely to meet zj, jb and trace plus little ones! Will put photos on fb or here or both when back home.

spotofcheerfulness · 28/05/2010 19:53

Looking forward to seeing the pix of the meetup. How I wish we could all meet up in RL. Or put all the babies in a room, run out and try to identify who belongs to who based on the descriptions we write here!

Veggie you will be cross with me but i decided to go for the guaranteed work as it is quite interesting and because I'm doing it for a project fee I can chip away at it in my own time without feeling like I'm working for nothing. Maybe an error but it's nice to know I've got some guaranteed income for a good few months.

T really not a happy chappy, he's cutting several teeth at once and his cough's got worse and more phlegmy. . Trying not to be too paranoid but he does seem to get ill more often than the average toddler. Really hoping he'll grow out of it.

DP off to get fish and chips, then a top evening of reading the proofs of my book .

LadyT and Aubs, hope you're having a lovely time in Sverige.

Oh, and Rubs great news on the good consultant, that must be a real relief to know you're in good hands.

Veggiemummy · 28/05/2010 22:00

Spot I said to go for the work with the cheeky mare lady. It will mean you'll def get the MLA thingy. Did my post come across a bit muddled. I'm a bit crap at expressing myself. Not that you should take career advice from me. I'm a SAHM/nurse.

Just watch the imaginarium of Dr Parnassus. So sad that health Ledger is no longer around.

Tonight was takeaway night, Indonesian again. It's just sooooo good.

Rubs I'm really happy you like your consultant. You were quite worried about it. She sounds lovely. Nothing against men but I do think female Gynaes make good ones. I'm not sure the same goes for MWs but I think female gynaes can be a bit more sensitive to what women would worry about, and understand their concern. Can you just see her from now on. Gosh the end of your week is much better than the beginning.

I'm so proud of DS1 today. DS2 was being a bit of a monkey and messing up things he was playing with. Instead of having a strope or whining DS1 stayed calm and either distracted DS2 himself or waited patiently for me to sort DS2 out, or he would just try to
incorporate DS2. At one stage DS2 picked up a Lego fire engine DS1 had made a threw on the floor and broke it. Still DS1 didn't freak. I think he has seen that we are trying to ignore when DS1 does cheeky things (within reason) and praise him loads when he does good things and he is kind of copying. Though he did say when I asked him 'well I love veggiebaby'. I'm bot sure if that will help him everyday but it was nice today. He also put DS2 on his trunky and he got in his little car thing and 'drove' DS2 around the back garden so was cool. DS2 loved it. He is the epitomy of the best big brother.

Veggiemummy · 28/05/2010 22:09

Yeah I just checked I wasn't very clear. I think I was trying to say it would be good for you MAP application, good for your CV and you won't have to stress about looking for work while your clackered. But if you find it annoying working for her you can get out of by claiming you can't work while on mat leave.

spotofcheerfulness · 29/05/2010 09:07

ah I see veg that is very clever!
Now I have to work out if I can justify putting T in nursery an extra morning. Hmm, I think it's that or getting a cleaner once a fortnight and I have a suspicion it will be the latter.
Soooo cute about DS1, he sounds like the perfect big brother. .

Am v excited, should be seeing Poison and her brood this afternoon!

Veggiemummy · 29/05/2010 11:19

I'd go for the cleaner once a day fortnight. If you change your mind you can always drop the cleaner and then go for the extra childcare. But it may be harder to drop the childcare if you change your mind. Shame you can't do both.

Hi to PD & her gorgeous DD.

Rubena · 29/05/2010 14:23

Hello,
I'm bored to death today. dh at work so I'm shampooing the rug.

for those of you with dc's in big beds, I have a Q. ds is fine at bedtime - ie he never comes out of his room as he is usually quite knackered. At first for a night or two he tried to but we had a latch on the door so used it but I have taken it off for a number of reasons as I think it's teaching him the wrong thing, it seems a bit mean and he never really tried to come out. But naps are a different story. Today he was fine - stayed in bed and didn't come out (as again he was knackered) but yesterday he wasn't quite as tired and came out 4 times so I just didn't try to make him nap (he had just slept 40 mins in the car to be fair an hour earlier)
As far as naps went (if you can remember) during the transition to a big bed, how did you handle it? Or should I just only enforce a nap when he's really really tired so that way he stays put? As I say nighttime is fine and he has only come out twice or so that I can think of and gone to sleep after I put him back.

Oh I'm bored today.

Rubena · 29/05/2010 15:28

hmmmm, it seems nobody else is bored today

Beans33 · 29/05/2010 17:44

Yo all. I've been off here for a bit. Had a bit of a scare with newbie this morning in that it hasn't been moving much in the night and I had really bad abdominal pains. So went to hospital this morning. DD climbed onto my knee after we'd been there for about an hour and headbutted my tummy. The newbie immediately started kicking!!! So we just left, so all ok. Came home and had an hour's sleep while DH took DD to shops with him.

Now heading down to my parent's house as they're away. Got some friends coming down tmw too. DH has already set off on his bike. It's only about 50km, but for some reason I'm worried about him. Never mind.

Anyway, Rubes - hope your boredom has relieved itself. katie - hope you're ok with everything. Veggie - DS1 sounds like perfect big brother. I hope DD is as nice to her little brother or sister next month!!!

My friend from NCT had her baby yesterday. My cousin had hers the day before and another friend one 2 days before that. All girls. I've got one more friend who's due to drop before me, then it's my turn. Holy shit. Never mind, will be fine, I'm sure - hee hee!

Off now until Tuesday, but hope you all have a lovely weekend and the weather perks up some!

xx

JamInMyWellies · 29/05/2010 21:58

Ooh Beans scary. lad all is ok.

katie3677 · 29/05/2010 22:09

So glad everything is alright Beans.
Jam, I'm with you, I think they've both had too much cheerfulness!

Rubena · 29/05/2010 22:17

I'm there too and only had coffee sadly....

Oh thank God it'ds all ok Beans

Rubena · 29/05/2010 23:22

Oh dear Eurovision.... She shouldn't have won based on just how annoying she is, however the song was the best of a bad bunch I spose. A little bit Mika-ish too.

Right, bed for me I think.... Too much fun for one night. Nice chattin with you over there Effie and Vag.

EffiePerine · 30/05/2010 07:30

I'll have you know I was on two glasses of lightweight German plonk! Thanks to Veggie and Rubes fir the impromptu FB party .

waitinggirl · 30/05/2010 08:06

back from hols and took AGES to read (skim) it all. but just wanted to say... mom - i am so so sorry to hear about your miscarriage. as someone who has been there a couple of times, it is just shit and rubbish and terrible. i hope you have lots of people around to take care of you and give you some time. although maybe having an active little ds may well be good for keeping you going. i, too, found the miscarriage threads useful on mn - but please do keep posting here, too, if you want.
