Oh bummer, Veg - expensive stuff, boilers. We're hoping to complete on our house within the month - and within a week of moving into our new place. Thank goodness!

Ate too much chocolate at lunchtime and still feeling sick. Not sure I can manage spag bol for supper. Will see how I feel later!

Beans33 · 19/05/2010 19:23

And your trip to the farm sounds great! DD would love baaing at the sheep! I'm so impressed with your cycling skills - you must have thighs of steel.

Is cycling at 7 months pregnant ok? I've been doing a little bit and it was ok, but was a bit worried that I had overdone it, despite taking it v gently!

daisydora · 19/05/2010 19:27

veggie that is rubbish aboutthe boiler. We are fortunate that DH has a mate who is a central heating engineer, so we usually get a good deal onanything like that. Wish your flat was near me and I could have given you his number!

DS has started babbling away in his owm language a lot too. Not a single word I understand but he seems to know what he is banging on about

Both DC's tucked up for 7pm tonight. My mum and dad have had themtoday and went for a picnic and nature trail. Dad bought them those little fishing nets and they have had a ball!

Oh and to really gross the thread out I found DS eating his own poo after his dinner this evening[vom emotion]. He obviously realised he had pooed (I couldn't smell it was in kitchen) stuck his fingers in side of nappy as he was trouser-less. I walked into find him licking his fingers and DD saying 'No harry don't lick your poo it stays in your nappy!'

Beans33 · 19/05/2010 20:01

Oh my GOD, DAISY! That is vile! You poor thing. Did you heave? I don't think I could have coped! Cripes alive. Feeling a bit honk-tastic myself thinking about it!

Had a brilliant bedtime with DD tonight. DH out again (!) so did bath etc myself. Usually feel too tired, but was feeling relatively perky tonight and then we had loads of stories on her favourite armchair, then a tickling fest. Put her down at 7, and was so proud of myself for the silence. Just went in to check on her and she was sitting there all proud of herself, having pulled her sheet off the bed. Had to laugh. Was v sweet.

Now ready for spag bol!

Beans33 · 19/05/2010 20:10

(despite the poo story!) x

daisydora · 19/05/2010 20:19

beans I just kind of scooped him up and took him upstairs to the bath, as he had smeared some on his leg. Seriously though it was horrid, he didn't even think it was particularly funny or anything he just had this look of complete confusion on his face. But not put off enough to stop doing it!!!

Beans33 · 19/05/2010 20:26

Oh lord - that is so horrific! I think us Mums are amazing for dealing with that sort of thing without flinching. I have scooped poo out of the bath without batting an eyelid!

DD still busy pulling her sheets off the bed. Over an hour since I put her down. Think tomorrow is time for fitted sheet and hopefully will be a bit sturdier. Grrr.

JumpJockey · 19/05/2010 20:48

Hello all, can anyone sum up the last week please?!

Just back from ILs, mostly a great time and we saw SIL who is looking very well (due in August), took dd to Loch Lomond which she enjoyed lots, and good to get DH back in the hills again

But crikey MIL made it harder than it needed to be. The house was a bit of a treasure trove of toddler hazards (glass coffee table, drinks trolley, shredder by the side of the dining table?!!!) so we spent a lot of time chasing dd and lots of tutting. She'd very kindly borrowed a child car seat, but it turned out to be one suitable for 3 years upwards so just a booster seat for the normal seatbelt And I know people shouldn't have to change their routines massively for guests, but there was plenty of general daftness like arranging for guests to come over for lunch at 2.30, and then being cross when we said we'd have to put dd down for her nap well before then if we were going to avoid meltdown.

Will post some pics on FB that my BIL took, he's got a real gift for catching a lovely photo and about a million times better than me!

Veggiemummy · 19/05/2010 20:51

Daisy he was probably thinking 'this chocolate tastes a bit off'. Really that is gross, and after his dinner, you clearly are not feeding that child enough . My DSIL woke up one morning to her DD1 tracing her finger around her face. She said it felt really nice until she detected a nasty poo smell. Her DD1 was putting her finger into her nappy then using the contents to draw a picture on her mummies face!

where do you live Daisy, I kind if know where everyone else lives but not you.

Beans 'hunktastic' that's hilarious.

daisydora · 19/05/2010 20:56

I live just outside Preston in Lancashire!

The thing is we often joke that DS would eat shit at times because when he starts eating he'll eat anything...guess we wasn't wrong

spotofcheerfulness · 19/05/2010 20:59

Where just outside Preston, Daisy? Am v nosy but I probably passed through there just last week!

Nice one on the poo. T did a humdinger that left me having to throw his vest away and immediately plink him into an empty bath but at least he didn't eat it.

Veggie that is the most disgusting thing and you have put me right off my pudding

daisydora · 19/05/2010 21:01

spot I live in Leyland, Jct 28 off the M6, call for a cuppa if you pass through again x

spotofcheerfulness · 19/05/2010 21:05

i know it! will stalk you call round when I'm next up there.

Hi JJ, sorry to hear about the tricksy MIL. I'm sorry but no summary for you my gel, you're going to have to do some serious reading tonight . Glad you had a nice week.

spotofcheerfulness · 19/05/2010 21:07

Those are gorgeous Fbook pix JJ

PinguRocks · 19/05/2010 21:08

Hi ladies
I've been away for aaaaages but have managed to lurk on and off!
So first things first, congratulations to all the re-clackered ladies. Can't believe that there are going to be new babies in a matter of weeks! Where has all the time gone....?
DD has only started walking without holding on in the last 2 weeks and the only words we have are "duck" (for ducks and birds generally), "cat" (for pretty much anything that moves but is most enthusiastically used for actual cats!) and "go get" accompanied by lots of pointing. I keep joking that she's a bit backwards and people look at me like I've said the most terrible thing....
I should really do personals but I just can't remember all the things I wanted to say. Sorry, but big hugs to everyone that would benefit from one and hopefully I will do a better job of keeping up.

spotofcheerfulness · 19/05/2010 21:12

Hello Pingu, lovely to see you! Are you still taking DD to the zoo? Wish we were still in the smoke and could hang out in the monkey zone again.

spotofcheerfulness · 19/05/2010 21:13

Can you tell I'm on my own tonight? I feel like I'm doing a Pubes and just yabbering away to myself...

daisydora · 19/05/2010 21:17

Get Jnr Apprentice on - its hilarious!

PinguRocks · 19/05/2010 21:20

I am indeed. We can often be found hanging out in meet the monkeys (where we have yet to meet any actual monkeys!). Next time you're in the big smoke perhaps you and Mr T can be persuaded back there.....
How are you finding Brighton? I keep meaning to head down to the seaside for the day and perhaps now the weather is improving I'll finally be motivated to action it!

spotofcheerfulness · 19/05/2010 21:22

oh god, those are some scary teenagers

Rubena · 19/05/2010 21:22

Spot!!!!

spotofcheerfulness · 19/05/2010 21:24

yay, come down Pingu, there's talk of a meet up here in June I think?

ACTION IT!

spotofcheerfulness · 19/05/2010 21:24

Come on, Rubena, don't act all innocent

Rubena · 19/05/2010 21:25

I do do that, don't I..... Right, conscious effort from now on. Hope I haven't bored everyone over the last few days with may step by step jabbering of my every move!
PS - I know I've covered this but my dad was born there where Daisy lives (again - who cares right?!)

spotofcheerfulness · 19/05/2010 21:27

Rubs I am referring to an afternoon a few weeks ago when you yourself acknowledged you were chuntering to yourself. Normally you are most measured and timely . Like myself.
