Flame Congratulations on Carys, but OUCH for 9lbs9oz, damn that's large for the nether regions 'winces', its a good job you gave birth, that thread nearly went onto a new one!

MRM I think you're right with the track choice, I was amused by Metallica as a dance mix track, again with ballroom blitz, all rather its the 1st time I've done 41, but we've got it till Xmas apparently, so will have time to get with it

Hi Dame, as CSWS said I've been doing the store, not much else that I can think of, have you applied for school yet? or can't you yet?

Thankfully I've never encountered a flour wevil, but there is time I'm sure.....

School got their damn plant delivery today with no forewarning to the parents again (they're supposed to tell you what day it is) so of course I had no car...thankfully Meri's dh rescued us, plus another mum and child, or else I fear my plants would not have made it home.....

mustrunmore · 19/10/2009 18:33

Dont you feel a bit daft doing the running in and out to ball room blitz, even by combat standards?!

Thank God Flame has finally had it

EachPeachPearMum · 19/10/2009 18:43

Frizbe- I don't mean to worry you... but they are in all flour apparently- the eggs are in the flour when it comes (thats a vommy face) mn is v useful though- put your flour in the freezer for 24 hours when you get it home from the shop, and they won't hatch...
Strangely enough, there was one bag of flour that had none in- it was a super-fine mill for sauces/pizza... that was also the only non-organic one, so not sure whether it's the lack of pesticides (yeah- they do have some uses) or the extra milling. Can't really use that one for carrot cake though.

Plants? delivered to school? Huh?
is this a rural thing, or a regional thing, or what?

Awww.... a leetle tiny baby girl.... how lovely.
Actually...not all that little!

Phoenix · 19/10/2009 18:54

Congratulations Flame. Lovely name, ouchy weight. Well done

Hi Dame

Phoenix · 19/10/2009 18:55

Aaaargh just googled flour weevils and wish i hadn't bothered

Frizbe · 19/10/2009 19:06

Ok where's the flour thread link, shiver....ponders if my lovely organic flour is filled with the damn things......

Plant delivery is something school do to raise themselves extra funds, they get a % of the take so as it saves me a trip to the garden centre with this bunch in tow, I've taken to taking their offerings!

Frizbe · 19/10/2009 19:06

Ooooh and yes MRM very silly!

EachPeachPearMum · 19/10/2009 19:47

frizbe- just search mn adv search for flour weevil.... you shall find several boaksome helpful threads, inc csws' from jan (v amused that you had flour from 2006 btw- I wonder what happened in 2006? )

Frizbe · 19/10/2009 20:14

Mmmm they look rather tasty EPPM I shall treble check my next batch of lovely flour!

damewashalot · 19/10/2009 22:09

Yes have done school application and high school for ds1 who sat 11plus a couple of weeks ago! how did he get that big?

Yay for new baby, v cute pics on fb

Jas · 19/10/2009 23:22

I've got the double whammy of infants and seniors coming up, too, dame
Nice to see you again.

Belated congrats on shop2 Frizbe.

FlameHasAnotherChick · 20/10/2009 01:12

My baby is sucking her thumb Never had one do that from birth

Jas · 20/10/2009 08:32

Aww, very cute. Nor have I (but you'd think otherwise if you saw the 9 yr old with the thumb in her mouth.....so NOT cute!)

Congratulations again Flame.....she is beautiful . You did really well, and I hope you enjoy her I read your birth story and note you say you are done with having babies. ReallY??

FlameHasAnotherChick · 20/10/2009 10:38

Never any more pregnancies. I like babies, but there is no way my mental health could take another run of the AND.

She's peeling oodles, you'd think she was weeks late looking at her. Not keen on latching on about to try again now.

Jas · 20/10/2009 11:24

I like babies, too, but they turn into children, and I couldn't cope with more than three of them!

She's not even 24 hours old yet, hopefully the latch will click soon....rugby ball position, or lying down to feed were the easiest for ds from what I remember.

CantSleepWontSleep · 20/10/2009 12:25

Have you given her shot with biological nursing flame (sort of lie back propped on cushions both naked and let her find her own way)? I've heard of a few people lately who have got on with this when traditional positions haven't worked.

FlameHasAnotherChick · 20/10/2009 13:07

Yup - where that was what dude did (without me realising it was a "method") I sort of assumed she would just do it, and she's not. B didn't feed for the first 24hrs though.

Boy bought me a teapot Have been whinging I wanted a teapot for ages - he likes buying me random post baby stuff

EachPeachPearMum · 20/10/2009 14:25

for teapot. Enjoy lots of lovely cuppas now Flamemama!
Am ... and I don't even particularly like babies... well, maybe more now than I used to!

Frizbe · 20/10/2009 23:56

dd1 was and still is a thumb sucker and she was a rugby ball position girl, hope you're having better luck with the feeding . I recall dd2 didn't feed much for the 1st day, I was waving my boob at her in the delivery room (as dd1 was starved when she popped out and suckled for ages, had a right wail when the mw took her off to weigh her) where as dd2 didn't want to feed at all

Frizbe · 21/10/2009 00:13

PS: if you don't hear from me for a few days, its cause its all end of term bonkersness followed by a trade show in Germany this weekend (kids to grandparents and this time they can't call me to come get the kids, as I can't get back, mwah, haha) of course it'll be hard work in Germany'mops brow' but a girls gotta do it!

CantSleepWontSleep · 21/10/2009 07:47

Sprechen sie Deutsch Friz?

Jas · 21/10/2009 10:46

Have fun Frizbe. PMSL at the image in my head f you waving your boob around in the delivery room now.

DP is a prat! He has work (at last) and is getting a lift in, so I have the van. I never use it......but today dd1 has a dentist appt in Epping (to collect new braces, very exciting), and he has taken the keys, so I am going to have to get a taxi

FlameHasAnotherChick · 22/10/2009 10:11
CantSleepWontSleep · 22/10/2009 10:12

Oh lol flame - such a fun stage .

did dp feel suitably stupid Jas?

Jas · 22/10/2009 10:15

Oh, yes. He really had forgotten about the dentist. £11 for a taxi though! We got the bus home.
