Oh tree, I'm so sorry the poor man. (and you all of course, but he must be pretty low about it)

SparkleandShine · 28/05/2009 13:34

tree - sorry to hear that. there are jobs out there hope he has some luck finding one...

moosemama · 28/05/2009 13:57

Tree so sorry to hear that. Here's hoping its the Universe taking care of you all (as my Mum says) and there is a better offer just around the corner.

Dog I'd call the GP if I were you, when DH got chicken pox last year they gave him antivirals to diminish the severity. They really helped and he didn't get it too badly as a result.

Overheard conversation between ds1 and Daddy last night:

ds1 "Daddy, you're married to Mummy aren't you?"

Daddy "Yes, we've been married for a long time, why?

ds1 "Oh, because I want to marry her when I grow up, but I can't if she's already married can I?

Daddy "No, not really. I thought you were going to marry Hannah anyway."

ds1 "I've changed my mind, because I already love Mummy lots and Hannah is such a girl! Anyway, Hannah is allergic to nuts!"

Interesting the way a 7 year old's mind works isn't it? There was me thinking he and Hannah were a match made in heaven - she's a lovely little girl - mind you I wouldn't like to be him if he did, talk about MIL problems!

juleswastink · 28/05/2009 14:01

DH didn't go to the docs, they triaged over the phone then left a prescription for someone to collect for him - might be worth a try. You poor thing, poorly yourself with poorly little ones as well.

Oh - must dash dd not at all happy this aft.

juleswastink · 28/05/2009 15:59

hi mm -

didnt do for dd1 and she is very fussy trying to do properly for bracken. following gf weaning book

poor you dog

EachPeachPearMum · 28/05/2009 17:25

Interesting jules... I am not a particular admirer of gf, but I used the weaning book with dd, and followed the order she introduced foods (rather than amounts/times etc) and dd will eat just about everything going of course she may just not be very discerning
Hope Bracken enjoys all your hard effort anyway!

moose that is very sweet.

dog I am so for you.... must be dire.... I've never had cp though

missjackson · 28/05/2009 18:41

dog you poor thing. Get on the phoe and insist on anti-virals. They are expensive and GPs don't like giving them out so you have to badger them.

got LO weighed today - 17lbs 7oz! At 17 weeks. On 91st for height and weight.

screaming now.. more later...

juleswastink · 28/05/2009 18:59

peach - intersting
she seems to be enjoying them so far!!

miss j - wow lo doing great

hongkongzoe · 28/05/2009 19:18

Tree- Am so sorry to hear about DH's redundancy, how stressful for all of you. It's really unsettling when something like this happens. How is he coping with it? I guess if he wasn't particularly happy in his job then it is a chance to look for something new. When DP hasn't got much work on, even though we are completely skint, its always nice having him about to help out (and saves $$ on nursery fees). In fact it's not so bad being skint and hanging around with DP, apart from having to go back to work next month Anyway I hope you are ok and sorry you are having a bit of a crap week.

Dog- Poor you too...hope you managed to get the gp to give you some anti virals...get well soon

Just got back from having coil fitted...ouchy ouch, but nowhere near as ouchy as childbirth!

Hi - and thanks for all the kind words. I really need them tbh.

Have had a nap so feeling more like I can face it.

AS to work - I guess I just don't know. I rang to clarify today, and I have another 2 monthly payments of £375 to come, plus the £480 maternity allowance till end of Sept.

We have found out today that the mortgage is covered for another 9 months [we have used 3 months from the Nov redundancy] so that is great news.

So I dunno really. I dunno if we can run the house on those numbers, but I hope so as I am not ready to go back yet.
There is a real chance I am going to have to beg to go full time and dh stay home. We can't go on with this uncertainty. Hey Ho.

HKZ - I know exactly what you mean about having dh about. I had him from Jan to end Feb and it was lovely really. Plus Hatts had to be held upright all night for the 1st 6 weeks so he did the nightshift and I did the days. If we could forget the background disaster of finance, we had lovely times!

You are back next month then. Hasn't it flown??

Sprry to not read the thread - have my head up my arse a bit. Sigh.

PatTheHammer · 28/05/2009 19:42

Not stopping,

for you tree. Not a good week for you guys. Hope something turns up soon. Several people I know have been through redundancy lately and come out with better jobs/jobs they prefer. Fingers crossed for your DH.

Dog. Oh no! . Get on that phone to your gp. theres only so much suffering one woman can take!

HKZ- ouch! Hope it settles down soon!

MissJ Glad Zach is not the only buster on the block, Nye doing great

Moose Ahhhh, your DS sounds so lovely and sweet, I want me one of those!

Tink sounds like Bracken doing well. DD did not get fussy till about 18mths. Think shes just coming round now to trying things that are not pasta based! Had chicken korma tonight for the first time in about a year

Busy day at the farm today, cooking dinner so must run!

dog Eugh to slug! . Good luck with house. Unsurprisingly the 'offer' that the estate agent was talking about on saturday failed to materialise so we are still stuck in this s-hole

EPPM lots of lovely things, get them all thats what I say! Just had a slight shopping accident at mini-mode yesterday, Oh and also got tickets for Angelina Ballerina at the National Ballet, sooooo excited .

Lenni and dog - be picking your brains on BLW soon methinks. Can't face pureeing again and since Zach will have about 5 million teeth by then, chunks of food sounds far easier to me!
