So how many LOs do we have walking now? I have lost count

LaT - glad the horrors weren't too bad after all

Lucky - what else did the baby fair at tescos have? Might have to check it out...

LuckySalem · 15/02/2009 20:52

They had LOADS of stuff but all I got was the box and a WELSH Rugby shirt and hat! Oh I also got her a pink blanket (£4)

I think we've got 3 walkers now but I might be wrong.

simpson · 15/02/2009 20:56

Lucky - you must take a pic of A in her welsh shit. Congrats on result BTW (and todays one of course!!)

Does A have an Everton top??

Lilyloo - sorry forgot to mention earlier re footie and DS. Think you are going to have to be tough (sorry!!) and say he either doesn't go/play again if he does it.

Or otherwise think of something else he can do (dunno code word or something) to vent out his anger...

simpson · 15/02/2009 21:05

LOL Lucky that was not meant to be a pun on words I really did mean shirt

Lilyloo · 15/02/2009 21:06

OF COURSE SHE HAS AN EVERTON TOP One of the first things that DP bought her, he keeps buying new ones as she outgrows them too

Just dug out some old pics for you Will post ones of her in her new one tomorrow as she's wearing to my mums (Mum supports Wales too but Dad supports England so I have to rub it in )

cheering Everton on in her bib (around 2 months I think)
bought by Grumps (my dad)
the old out grown top
the scarf

simpson · 15/02/2009 21:15

Lilyloo - Oops

Lucky - I have been to Goodison many years ago (well about 6) and we won

Think you had Gazza playing then and Genola (sp)

My dad can't wait to take DS to his first game...

simpson · 15/02/2009 21:17

On FB can you guys look at things on my wall?

My brother has put some pics of Dcs up...

madmouse · 15/02/2009 21:17

Lucky could not give a toss about the footie bits but how lovely to see aaliyah change and grow with each photo forgot how small they were, aaah

LuckySalem · 15/02/2009 21:22

MM - It is quite freaky. We were going through her old pics/videos and its hard to believe she was ever that small.

LuckySalem · 15/02/2009 21:23

Simps - can't see any pics?

simpson · 15/02/2009 21:25

simpson · 15/02/2009 21:34

They are deffo on my wall when I click on pics to make them bigger it says they are on my wall iyswim.

Oh well will get him to sort it for me not technically minded at all...

AngeChica · 15/02/2009 21:36

At Portman Road Simps?

Can't see the pics unless you get tagged in them, they must be on your news feed which is personal to you.

I'd say DS has been "properly" away on feet for about 2 weeks now. He can reach a lot of new places (window sills etc)... It's like he has the body of a toddler with the sense of a one year old, though . If you've alreay got DCs you'll be more prepared for it I'm sure.

He "posts" things all the time (into bins etc). Today he: ate a dog biscuit . Got toothpaste tube and opened it and started eating it. Posted Teddy down the loo (we have a downstairs bathroom).

Went to B&Q and got lock for toilet seat sharpish.

Lilyloo · 15/02/2009 21:46

Lol Ange i just noticed that M has been posting all our fridge magnets in the bin today , had actually wondered where they were all going

OP posts:
simpson · 15/02/2009 21:48

Ange - of course Portman road DS dressed his teddy in ITFC strip on Sat still didn't help us win though

Alek's "posting" reminds me of when DS was about 14mths he used to say "uh oh" and you just knew he had put duplo somewhere ie down loo, in bin, in dvd player

My bro is out tonight put will get him to tag me in tomorrow then you can see what DS looks like

MrsMcJnr · 15/02/2009 22:14

Hey ladies hope you are all well.

Ange ? we are pretty spoilt here, we can get most British food things if not locally than an hour away in Morrisons in Gib. That said, I really miss Boots, nothing like that here at all

Simpson ? can empathise on the food front, DS is eating next to nothing at the moment think you should ask about the desk how is DD now?

Lily ? glad all is ok with DP?s job, very worrying times. Madmouse is right; it?s not a great time to start a new life abroad either unless you have recession-proof skills like teaching

Madmouse ? I have a raisin packet eating baby too

DS has a new trick, grating his teeth; I hate it but don?t know how to get him to stop? any suggestions?

Hey Filly, Gingeme Hey Lucky, Mixedmama, Housemum

LaT ? sounds like you need more practice with the churros and chocolate! DS was adopted by two little Spanish sisters (4 & 7) yesterday; they let him play in their garden house until he ate the earth in their window boxes

LaTrucha · 16/02/2009 11:34

Morning ladies!

Lol at the posting, Ange. I was ata friend's recently and her toddler and others were LOVING posting things through the letterbox ALL morning!

MrsMc- Sabela does that tooth grinding too. I've no idea how to stopit though. It's really loud. Sweet about the little girls. A sign of how different Spain is is that there is a little boy across the way - my mIL talks to his granny though the window and we hold up the babies to see each other - but there is no idea of them playing together.

Lilyloo- I'm not sure I have any advice. Maybe give him an idea of what to do instead when he gets angry eg. count to ten. THat might be expecting too much though?

Lucky - cute pics!

Sabela has just learnt to pu things 'IN' too. I'll wait for things to start disappearing once she's mobile.

Any ideas here?

Sorry. DH 'playing' with Sabela next to me which is involving some heavy hints, such as 'oo give it to mummy', 'oo what does mummy say' etc...

madmouse · 16/02/2009 11:47

Nathan does not post, but is currently obsessed with pretending to offer something to you (toy, food), when you stretch out your hand he puts it in, then quickly snatches it back when you close your hand, giggling his silly socks off

He slept all of 20 mins yesterday so was overtired at bedtime and cried when I put him in his cot. I rolled him on his side and he instantly became quiet, grabbed the bar and closed his eyes it seems to be THE thing. Not a peep until a loud wail at six am (reason unknown, possibly poo related, resolved with cuddle )

Have booked tickets to go and see the much loved Martyn Joseph in March, Nathan's best mate is babysitting, he and his wife felt we needed some us time

mixedmamameansbusiness · 16/02/2009 13:29

Inspired by you ladies I have been for a total of 3 nights putting DC into bed awake and letting them go to sleep by themselves... seems ok. DS1 makes quite a fuss and upsets DS2 so i have to put DS1 in first and then when he is calm put ds2 in. He cries for a little whhile but not too long that it alarms me and fingers crossed going well so far. Very pleased.

Lilyloo · 16/02/2009 13:41

ooh MadM i could do with some of that too

LaT thanks i was thinking of a strategy to try and help him but it seems its pretty normal stuff just i have to deal with the fall out for the rest of the day.
Have posted on your other thread.

Mmama good stuff fingers crossed they keep it up!

Awen if you pop by hope you dont think i was having a go on that thread just a difference of opinion!

Well had nightmare with dd last night she just wouldnt settle at all.
Me and dp ended up shouting at each other
That just about topped dp mood off after the week and ds behaviour yesterday.
He is normally really laid back but everything is stressing him out and we are taking the brunt of it.
He is so short tempered , stormed off this morning no kisses or hugs and even shouted at dd1 for asking for a hug telling her he was late

Am really fed up and dont know how to handle him or this situation...

Hi all -

Lily - nothing like a crying baby to get the tension mounted is there? . Thanks for posting on my other thread. I'm replying her ein case the content gets me flamed! Basically, what I do differently at night is that we did CC for bed time and she took to it within 2 nights and now she rarely cries and if she does it's usually enought for me to put my hand through the bars to comfort her. She pushed me away VERY angrily when I tried this for her nap today. I really don't want to have to do CC again for naps as I don't think it is particularly good for LOs and because of the difference in the kind of crying she did then and does now for naps. Withthe CC at night, it was more kind of 'huh? where are you' crying. She also stopped it each time I came to her. For naps it is hysterical, worse when I come near her. She went bright red! Sorry long answer..

With DH I would probably say quite calmly what is wrong and then back off and leave him to it. Presumably, he's not usuallly an arse, right?

Mixedmama - glad it's going well at night.
(Lucky too - do you have the bedtime of your dreams now?)

Madmouse - no socks today. I'm sure they'll come tomorrow.

I've decided I HAVE to Spanishify my baby and pram. I just fel so odd when out walking. ALl the babies here are dressed like 1950's babies, with little bonnets and knitted jackets. Plus a huge frilly cosy-toe. Tonight was the last straw. My SIL bought me a crazy orange and pink Disney jacket. Not my sort of thing at all but I thought I'd try and think of it as 'fun'. I almost died. The looks! Tomorrow the purchase of frills, quilts, bows and knitted hats comences!
