Hi all

Lucky - am very at you helping out with horses...good for you!!

Sorry to hear of your aunt & uncles loss

LaT - don't have cot bumper here either. DD wouldn't be able to climb out yet so would be ok though and I think the same as JKS I have seen her with arms/feet poking out of cot and she sorts it out herself. Although at night time she does wear a sleeping bag which must stop feets getting stuck iyswim.

JKS - on the sleep!! Yes am going to Gingeme's weather permitting as have to get underground and 12-3 sounds good to me

Going to my mums' today for sunday dinner DH at work again so will be back at around 11ish.

That reminds me: last night there was a knock at the door at 11pm and it was the lady from next door. They had no nappies left could I give them some. Was a bit surely you would make sure you had enough nappies to last the night??!!

Also DH's nephew's girlfriend had baby yesterday at 9.30pm. A boy...no name yet...

mixedmamameansbusiness · 08/02/2009 11:34

Morning all,

Juts had to share my excitement, some friends of ours have just had baby twin girls early this morning, they are nne weeks early but are doing well and weigh 4lb and 4lb 10.

Hey to all... LaT will take some time to get used to it all.

MrsMcJnr · 08/02/2009 12:14

Very quick post as have to go out. Sorry to hear some are ill

LaT - I use bumpers because DS kept getting trapped and waking up crying but I don't use the rest of the jazz they do here. There are some ladies near you in the Overseas section of MN by the way. Any luck with www.mumsinspain.com? also, that's odd about needing the red book to register at the Drs, I took mine with me when DS had a jag on Fri but only to sync them. He had Hep B as all the kids have that here and I think it's a good idea. Might be worth getting Sabela up to date on that whilst you are here? They don't do MMR until 15 months here.

LaTrucha · 08/02/2009 13:57

Are there MrsMc? I started a thread in Overseas, but no joy as yet. I haven't tried MumsinSpain yet but I will. Sabela had her MMR early as SIL told me it was 2 years here and I didn't want that. She'll have her Hep B when we've registered. TBH I'm a bit dubious that they won;t register without the red book, but that's what my MIL says. W emay as well wait for the replacement though.

at the twin gilrs. Glad they are doing well. I know twin boys born 10 weeks early. They are 6 months now and doing as well as any other baby though they had 6 weeks in SCBU.

AngeChica · 08/02/2009 14:19

Hola MrsMc and LaT - duuno why I thought your DH was a gallego?. Lucky the stables sounds fun! I want something to do as well DH goes to karate 1 or 2 evenings a week - I might just go jogging cos it's cheap. Was thinking of doing the Great North Run. Have done it before and it was a great experience. Might help with the gut as well. Lady at playgroup thought I was PG the other week and I was yet again mortified.

Glad you had a good birthday JKS and your DH will never beat mine who once got me a new car exhaust for my birthday .

Hope coping Ok with the chicken pox mixedmama.

Just been clearing up plaster dust - not as bad as the brick dust was, but still everywhere. Still, now DS is walking nearly all the time it's just his feet that'll get grubby rather than his knees

Sought refuge at friends' overnight. Their DCs are a little older and house therefore no longer babyproof eg strewn with small Playmobil and Lego bits. Made me realise must be tricky for those of you with older DC! Also DS became obsessed with climbing their stairs. Glad to be home with stairgate.

Managed to sneak out with friends to see a film last night - Revolutionary Road. A good film but up there with things like Vera Drake in the depresso-rama stakes. Would like to see the new Woody Allen film but only cos it's got Javier Bardem and Barcelona in it

LaTrucha · 08/02/2009 14:47

Angechica - you're right - he is. Well, his mum is and his dad is from Canatbriabut they live in Cartagena now.

I think Javier Bardem is pretty yummy!

AngeChica · 08/02/2009 15:24

Mmm, he is. Also rather like Jordi Molla.

AngeChica · 08/02/2009 15:36

Oh yeah, also Eduardo Noriega. Nice Spanish men!

LaTrucha · 08/02/2009 15:40

He looks FAR too much like a friend of mine who once aked me to marry him - out of the blue! He only asked me out for dinner when I turned him down. I turned him down again! . All the women were drooling over him at my actual wedding which I loved!

He's was an alcoholic BTW - now reformed - which is why I turned him down. I've had quite enough of that for one lifetime!

LuckySalem · 08/02/2009 16:32

Well DP says that he doesn't want me to help out the horses cos its gonna cost too much in fuel. Have told him tough
As for DD as soon as she's walking, she's gonna get sat on a horse - its the "jones" (mum's maiden name) tradition I can't wait till I can take her with me and lead her on her own pony by the side of me.... It's one of my dreams since I was about 15 to be able to go riding with my mum and my daughter.

Not too sure what my auntie and uncle are going to do - was seriously thinking last night that if they can wait till after I've had no2. I'd offer to be a surogate but I the more I think about it the more I become selfish about going through pregnancy and not having a child of my own at the end....... I think I'll wait and see what they decide to do and then think about it more from there.

RE BUMPERS We have a bumper up so that DD doesn't lose her winnie out of her cot or trap her feet - didn't think about her being able to climb out

LuckySalem · 08/02/2009 16:32

Oh Yeah also - COME ON WALES

LaTrucha · 08/02/2009 19:26

psst.. Lucky! Where is everyone today?

Oh! It's Sunday... shuffles off ...

Everything ok today. Managed to find a swing for DD. I kid you not with the singular. ONE swing suitable for a baby. Still, it's in a nice little park, and it IS somewhere to go with something to do in it.

Have posted on mumsinspain. 6 people have read my post but no one has replied.... Latrucha hides her tail between he legs and gets under the 'mumsinspain' table.

Lilyloo · 08/02/2009 19:30

We have cot bumper as M sleeps with her head right at the top of the cot. She is a bit odd with sleep and likes to have her head touching the bumper and a blanket over her head! Obv a cellular one with lots of holes in.
Even when she is tired she will sit with her blanket over her head downstairs
She never uses the bumper to climb out just throws herself so haven't really associated it with that!
Just know you shouldn't use them until they can move themselves free of them!

It's a complete white out here. Been snowing really heavily since 4 o'clock! Hope schools shut tom as have taken car down to main road. It's just settling on top of all the frozen snow!

Good news about the new babies Simps and MM!

JKS lazy you

Lucky great idea r/e horses. I like Ange think i need to get a hobby on an evening getting really housebound and feel a bit groundhog here.
Sorry to hear about your aunt and uncle!

PS Rubysmom (Bluebell) if you are reading hope you are OK?

LuckySalem · 08/02/2009 19:58

LaT - I know what you mean it's soooo quiet today.

Well just put DD to bed and I must say that today that little sigh of relief I normally do after bedtime is a huge one, She's been very trying today and I know its not entirely her fault cos of her nappy rash (am going back to docs tomorrow) but [sigh] lol.

Gingeme · 08/02/2009 20:01

Evening ladies.
No bumper here any more. Used them up till baby could stand then got rid.
So glad Nathan is better
Well we have had a very busy weekend. Shopping for wellies for ds3 on Saturday came home with new trainers for ds4 wellies for ds3, shoes for me and boots and trainers for DH. All from Shoe Zone cause they are closing down. All came to £40. Not bad eh?
Went to my sil's in the afternoon which was fun. George did loads of walking
Today went to Clown Town this morning. More walking from George popped to Tesco to buy chops for dinner. Peaceful afternoon whie boys slept. Roast dinner with a glass of my fave wine curtosy of DH. Now peace again as all the boys in bed. Phew!
Right need to know exactly who is coming on Wednesday and if there are any foods I need to get in especialy for you or lo's please?
Right off to watch Larkrise now.
Sleep well all xxxxx

Lilyloo · 08/02/2009 20:01

Lucky we had another bad day here too.
She got up at 6 so bad start. Refused to eat any tea so has had porridge and tuna sandwich all day.
Then crying since 3 ish until she went to bed at 6.30!
Was greatful dp here to share the load my headache just going!
Do you think it's teeth? It's really hard i was just praying for bed time today too.

OP posts:
Gingeme · 08/02/2009 20:04

Ooh x post Lillyloo I know it sounds wierd but check at the back for teeth too. When George was crying a bit in Tesco I spotted 2 molars at the top at the back x

LuckySalem · 08/02/2009 20:06

I dont know - my mum keeps asking if its teeth but if it is then she's showing no other signs.
She's wingey, nappy rash but thats it - no flushed cheeks, her gums dont look even slightly whiter and they dont feel any harder either.

Well last night she ended up sleeping in with me at 1:30 cos I'd had enough of trying to settle her in her room as had been doing it on and off since DP went to work at 10pm.
She woke this morning at 8am cos I woke up with a coughing fit.
She was okish this morning, had breakfast etc. Then had a nap from about 12-1:30pm, from 1:30pm till bed she's been so wingey/clingy etc. I've had her nappy off all afternoon (and been peed on twice lol) have tried putting talc on her bum to dry it up and that seems to soothe it but doesn't clear it.

I'm just hoping for a better nights sleep tonight and am busy looking for a holiday now! lol - The one DP found is £258 pp and we have to pay for DD too so too expensive.

LuckySalem · 08/02/2009 20:07

Ginge - £40 BARGAIN

Lilyloo · 08/02/2009 20:07

Will check tom. I just gave her nurofen at bedtime so hopefully that will help. She has had red cheeks so sure it must be.

OP posts:
simpson · 08/02/2009 20:11

Gingeme - I am still coming to yours weather permitting Let me know if you need me to bring anything...

Don't worry about anything for DD as I will bring her stuff...

Molly been much better today although she does have temper tantrums if anything is taken off her...

Lilyloo - Had to LOL at the idea of Martha sitting downstairs with blanket over her head because she is tired

Lilyloo · 08/02/2009 20:16

I have never seen anything like it , guess she escapes the madness of our house that way!
It is really funny and my way of knowing she wants to go to bed!

OP posts:
Lilyloo · 08/02/2009 20:18

Looking at weather report all you 'darn sarf' are going to get really bad weather tom night!

OP posts:
simpson · 08/02/2009 20:24
