LS- pick one:
empty legs
hole in stomach
growth spurt.....

if bfding - you would just keep feeding (ooh, good name possibility for ds2's next growth spurt ) and not know how many oz's - just be pulling your hair out as you can't get away from baby!

LuckySalem · 05/05/2008 21:17

Lol - Yeh there is that, I didn't think of that route. If I was still BFing she would just keep going and going so I wouldn't be worrying so much. I should just chill out. I think there's a hole somewhere though! lol

Hi ladies. We all had a brilliant day at the zoo. The boys found it all very fascinating. A lovely day had by all. I did a good deed too. We sat for something to eat and a lady sitting at the table next to us got poohed on by a bird. She was so shocked bless her. I offered her a couple of wet wipes and she said I was an angel Felt good for the rest of the day.
LuckySalem can I ask how you gave lo 15 oz of milk? Just kept feeding her until she stopped or what? I think George might need to go up to 8oz but would never think he would take 15.

justkeepswimming · 05/05/2008 21:19

check to see if milk is coming out somewhere, lol!

naetha - fancy coming round and stocking my freezer?! not that i'm thinking of weaning yet, hoping to hang on as long as poss. hoping to give BLW a try, tho need to read up more about it.

LuckySalem · 05/05/2008 21:20

Gingeme - Glad you had a good time at the zoo. Did LO enjoy it? Notice stuff or just sleep as I want to take DD to zoo but DP is positive that she wouldn't enjoy it and either sleep or scream the whole way around and he says its too expensive for that.

As for 15oz yeh, I made her her normal 9oz bottle and cos she always seems to be looking for more I made an extra one which I offered to her and she necked half of that one too!!

justkeepswimming · 05/05/2008 21:20

gingeme - well done you
london zoo? i found it so expensive when we went ages ago. think ds1 was too young really anyway. did you take a picnic? was it packed?
still thinking of transport museum for next outing.

justkeepswimming · 05/05/2008 21:24

PS you can still call me kt if you want, tis my name!

LuckySalem · 05/05/2008 21:27

Ahh that's who that mad woman is! lol

lilyloo · 05/05/2008 21:30

KT (jks) what is the blw ?
I briefly caught a thread on it the other day ?
I have never gone until 6 months with others as 4 was the reccomendation then.
Do you just give them finger foods at 6 months ?

Glad you had good day Gingeme would have loved to have gone today but can't afford it so went to the park instead!

Lucky glad she enjoyed it!

Naetha lovley recipes there ds and dd loved sweet potato but interestingly i have never made it other than when they were babies

OP posts:
LuckySalem · 05/05/2008 21:32

BLW - Means that when they are 6 months you give them what your eating straight off your plate as finger food.

lilyloo · 05/05/2008 21:35

What about salt content then ?

OP posts:
justkeepswimming · 05/05/2008 21:37

not sure enough about BLW to properly answer Q, but there is a good site (think it's babyledweaning.com). you only offer them appropriate food but yes, they pick up and eat what they can.
could be easier than pureeing and spoon feeding, esp with ds1 around.
prob means they bf more for longer tho?

LuckySalem · 05/05/2008 21:38

Apparently you don't have to worry (I think) but check that site that KT put up, it has loads of info on it.

justkeepswimming · 05/05/2008 21:38

babyledweaning.blogware.com/

justkeepswimming · 05/05/2008 21:38

and hey Lucky - less of the mad woman!

LuckySalem · 05/05/2008 21:39

Damn, she noticed!

lilyloo · 05/05/2008 21:40

not really bothered about bf for longer tbh but not sure giving her what we eating is the best thing guess will have to look into this as i said both dc's really enjoyed the cubes and both have v. healthy attitude to food now!
And i hate when they 'gag' wonder if this would be worse with blw ?

OP posts:
LuckySalem · 05/05/2008 21:41

Look on the link, I had a quick glance last night and I'm sure I read something on there about gagging. Not had that with DD yet.

gingeme · 05/05/2008 21:41

My goodness lucky does your dd have hollow legs or something/
Lo enjoyed the zoo well not so much the animals but he enjoyed looking at all the different people walking around. Yes it was packed but not too bad as it was the Bank Holiday. We went on the London Zoo site and got 20% off plus we didn't have to pay for ds3 which we should have because hes over 3 but we didn't question that . No we didn't take a pic nic. I have a special going out Wiinie Pooh money box which we put a fiver in every now and then and use the money for going out etc. So we ate there and had a little to buy fifts fir the boys too
Londo Transport museum is good too. We enjoyed it and thats was pretty busy the day we went. We walked round Covent Garden after and watched all the funny acts going on in the square.

Talking of museums anyone up for the V&A at some date soon for our next meet up? Come on ladies before our lo's celebrate their first birthdays

gingeme · 05/05/2008 21:43

fifts? gifts even. Oh Im so tired

lilyloo · 05/05/2008 21:45

Would love too if it wasn't so far away (stamps feet)
I am the worst when they gag i totally over react and have countless times dagged them out of high chair and whacked them on the back!
Dp just sits their in state of amusement but i really cannot cope with it! Can't see how they can go from milk to finger food

OP posts:
justkeepswimming · 05/05/2008 21:45

lol - Lucky

Gingeme - we are up for v&a, tho limited dates. trip to zoo sounds fun.

lily - sure you have to offer something else if you have cooked with salt, etc. will read up more in the next few weeks/months.

tired me too, i AM off to bed, really i AM...

LuckySalem · 05/05/2008 21:46

Gingme - I think so! lol
Maybe i'll leave the expensive zoo till DD is a little older.
I really wanna go on holiday this year but again can't persuade DP to spend the money when "DD wont gain anything from it" as he says. hmmmm.

LuckySalem · 05/05/2008 21:47

LL - In all honesty that's why i'm not too worried about letting DD have some stuff now. I don't want to overload her at 6 months by shoving carrots and stuff at her, would rather work up to it.

lilyloo · 05/05/2008 21:50

TBH Lucky i think i agree but just holding off as we going away in 3 weeks and don't want the faff.
I have two ringing endorsements to that. DD went to feed the horses with dp today and ate the carrot before she got there
