Who was having the Chinese takeaway? How was it? (We just had eggs on toast here, perfectly pleasant but a bit of a lazy habit here suddenly)

PillockOfTheCommunity · 02/01/2008 21:08

oi octo - 19th should be ok - keep me in touch and we'll arrange something

Maveta · 02/01/2008 21:08

How annoying pesha! loved your jigsaw story on that thread, really made me laugh.

N doesn´t like porridge, I tried tonight but with every bite came this dramatic blinking, gurning and swallowing, then some nose wrinkling and coughing. All that was missing was the clawing at his throat takes after his dad in the drama department.. so gave him baby cereal which he LOVES. He went straight down but I have heard a few noises [gulp] so wish us luck, as we all know only too well..nothing is ever garanteed

Nappies nappies nappies NAAAAAAAPIES!

Octo - yes, but you see, in order to have leftovers, there must have first been a meal. We´re falling at the first hurdle, we need help. But not tonight, my Organisation and Lists were not, as I suspected, at the bottom of my bowl of ice cream with chocolate sauce so I will resume the search tomorrow

AngeG · 02/01/2008 21:10

Hello

A little crazy on here tonight I think

Both DC are still up and we have just got back from having Pizza hut for tea
Izzy is crawling round growling like a tiger and Jake is lying on the sofa under a blanket, complaining he is cold.

Not a lot else to say really!

Pesha hope you're ok?

Sexonlegs · 02/01/2008 21:13

Maveta, pmsl!! You are v amusing this evening.

Pesha, don't give up pet!

Elkie, I love fried eggs on toast - they were a real craving when I was pg with both dd's.

Hi Octo!!!!

Where is MJ today? Hope you are ok, as I know you were down yesterday. x

AngeG · 02/01/2008 21:13

Oh and no meal planning here for us either. Every now and again I get really organised and plan, but then get bored and start flying by the seat of my pants again! I really am terrible and thinking of things to eat and making them

oooggs · 02/01/2008 21:14

yes - where is mammyjo - show yourself within half an hour or I will stalk text you!!!!!!!

Sexonlegs · 02/01/2008 21:15

Hi Ange, funny, as B has been complaining of being cold. She has been going to bed with a fleece dressing gown on, followed by her duvet, with another fleece dressing gown over the top!!!! Has been like this for days!

Can't believe all these lo's crawling!!

oooggs · 02/01/2008 21:15

do you lot waste food?????

dh said he think too much goes in the bin - not leftovers - just stuff which is out of date or has gone off - which is why I need to plan to save wasted food money

oooggs · 02/01/2008 21:16

Now this is what happens when you have one of the eldest babies - Erin has been crawling for nearly 3 mths - she currently has a runny ear - it is yuk [blah]

CaptainDippy · 02/01/2008 21:20

P is too fat to crawl, her arms and legs down't touch the floor when she is lying on her tummy.

AngeG · 02/01/2008 21:22

Yes we do waste a fair bit of food, that's normally what spurs me into planning more, but then I get lazy!

has she really been crawling for 3 months Oooggs? When you say runny ear do you mean gunk?? Sorry really sensitive about ears atm because of Izzy's perforated ear drums.

tcmummy · 02/01/2008 21:22

hello!!!

Not caught up properly. We've been hiding out at home for a couple of days and switched off all the phones/internet. I had/am having/am wondering if I'm having... a bit of a burn out/ melt down and needed to try to slow down a bit.

We were away xmas for 2 nights, then back home with dh's family for 2 nights and then we were meant to have a quiet night before new year's eve when we were driving up to Newcastle for another 2 nights, but we got a phone call late sunday night and dh's dad had collapsed and the ambulance was on the way and so we chucked everything in the car including an exhausted baby and raced back. 7 years ago FIL had a brain tumour and nearly died with similar symptoms. And so we were panicing.

In the end FIL didn't need to be admitted (although the ambulance crew said that the hospital was really full and nearly on divert and so we suspect that was influencing their decision ).

Out trip to Newcastle was cancelled and we just flaked out. I'm just exhausted. Christmas has been really stressful and not at all what I hoped T's 1st xmas would be and this was the final straw. But we've had a couple of days cut off from the rest of the world and had some family time (and a bit of dh time ) and I'm starting to feel better.

Pillock - sorry I missed you. Would have loved to have met up. I have said before if you fancied meeting up at Brandon or somewhere inbetween sometime I'd be up for that. As for fb, I'm afraid it's one friend in particular who would be tracking my every move on mn and I just don't want the hassle.

Sorry for the long post in the middle of the chat!

CaptainDippy · 02/01/2008 21:22

Bramshott · 02/01/2008 21:27

Hello all!!

Have made no attempt to catch up on festive madness and / or news but hope you are all okay. Oooggs - so sorry to hear your bad news.

All has been fine here - although I must admit I have been a bit down. I think it's because N is about to turn 5, Orla is 9 months and is definitely my last baby, and it feels as though they are growing up way, way too fast! I find myself poring over pics and videos of N aged 2, and marvelling at the cute, toddling, lisping little thing she was so recently. And now look at her - nearly 5, at school, so coherent it's scary! She is lovely at the moment, and we are getting on well, so it's not that, I think I just feel that with her at school, and O growing up, a phase of my life is over. Do you know what I mean, or am I being a sentimental mush-head?! I'm sure it's also partly down to the fact I don't have enough work on - no new projects since I went back to work, and I need to find a new challenge. Still DH went back to work today and I didn't feel too bad - and that's usually a seasonal low point. Let's hope its on the up from here - I must sit down and count my blessings more.

CaptainDippy · 02/01/2008 21:27

That's right - anything runny, suck out with Dyson.

Ick.

AngeG · 02/01/2008 21:27

Must try that

Bramshott · 02/01/2008 21:28

Sorry to hear about your FIL tcmummy - must have been scary!
