Morning ladies,

Glad the birthday girls had a great day.

Katy - hope you're feeling better soon.

Elkie - hope the jabs go ok for you and Danny

Maveta - will email the Anzac biccie recipe to you, am loving the sound of your yogurt cake, will have to give it a bash.

Luce - hope the blister clears up for you. Is so hard when they want to feed all the time. Have a fab weekend away, how exciting to be surprised!

GMM - sorry you had a bad day yesterday, hope today is better for you, hee hee at the window cleaners...

WO - trekking with bubba, very impressive! Am going to attempt to sort out webcam & skype, may have to ask for some assistance as am usually rubbish at these things and you sound like an expert.

Mammyjo & other HP fanatics - am hoping Dumbledore isn't really dead either, perhaps he has phoenix-like regeneration powers similar to Fawkes? I live in hope! Can't wait to find out!

Sorry, have forgotten everything else I was going to say & L is kicking off, hope everyone has a good day. L gone strangely quiet... can it be she's settled herself? Going to check.... she has!!!! The wee star!! Now, if she'll just stay asleep long enough for me to wash my hair!

xx

Morning all.

So much to catch up on again.

CD, glad you had a good evening out.

Katy, sorry you are feeling pants. And Mammyjo, did you say you were feeling crap too. Hope you feel better soon.

Pinions, sounds like you have had a great time with Nutty and Ellie!

WO, what a hectic day! Have a good one.

Can't remember a thing else - sorry!

Feeling a tad pissed off, but wonder if I am being unreasonable.

As you know, it was my birthday yesterday. My brother, sil and their 4 children came back to the UK on Tuesday from Singapore for a 6 week visit. They are staying with my parents, 20 miles from us.
I heard nothing from him - no text, phone call - not a word since they have been back. I appreciate they have just got back and organising cards/presents is not top of their agenda, and tbh, I am not fussed about that, but I would really like to have heard from him. I have made such an effort with them with presents for all of them at xmas and birthdays, and sending emails etc.

It really ruined the day, and my dh is pissed off with him too for upsetting me.

Am I being unreasonable?

Sorry for the rant, but it has bothered me terribly.

B off for a visit to big school later which she is looking forward to. Have managed to get my mw/friend to have K, so I can fully concentrate on B, which will be lovely.

Hope everyone is well. xx

normabutty · 13/07/2007 12:20

KHIN - you poor thing...good job it's sat tomorrow

Elkie - hope Danny's jabs went ok.

erm...i can't remember anything else cos I got distracted by cloth nappies

Ellie left this morning and will hopefully ba back on here later! Erin had her second lot of jabs this morning and cried...tho she started to cry before the jabs so i think it was because she doesn't like to be held so she can't move IYSWIM .She's now asleep. Don't think i'll be going to baby group today cos she's had her jabs and it's pouring down!

Have lots of laundry to do as have another friend coming this evening to stay for the weekend...it's all go here!

I have a pic of Erin & Joe that i'll try and get on today at some point...may just email it as that might be easier!

maveta · 13/07/2007 12:28

KHIN - sorry your friends have let you down Hope the weekend makes up for the week

WO - I missed the news about your friend losing her little girl I am so sorry, I don´t think any of us can even bear to think about it. It really is just inconceivable that it could happen to you.

Mammyjo.. thanks for that recipe, need to get ingredient shopping this weekend and try out all these biscuits and muffins, yay!

SOKL - of course YANBU! You should call him and tell him off soundly! I´m the world´s worst for cards but he´s your BROTHER! and not even a phone call? very unimpressed I would be too.

N has oral thrush again so last night and so far today he´s been really fussy at eating, coming on and off and crying and only feeding for about 10mins compared to his normal half hour. I´ve got the daktarin gel now, do you think I should give him a couple of bottles of ebm just to make sure he´s getting enough food in him the next couple of days? (the bottle doesn´t seem to make his mouth hurt as much) Opinions? He´s not eating any more regularly to make up for the short feeds..

normabutty · 13/07/2007 14:41

eca · 13/07/2007 16:21

hi, not had chance to catch up I'm afraid! Wedding tomorrow (not the one where I have to squeeze in the dress ) but the one where I'm driving people round and putting up the groom & best man tonight! So anyway, as ever, lots of wedding prep going on (currently dad is cleaning the car outside - poor man!) I promise I will stop talking about weddings after summer!...

Anyway happy birthday to CD and SOKL for yesterday! Hope you had a lovely day! I had a wonderful wedding anniversary. dh bought me a digital SLR which is AMAZING!! I am a very lucky lady. And we managed a spur of the moment 4 course lunch here Lurvly.

Ok, better go and do more jobs!

NearlyHeddaslessNick · 13/07/2007 16:23

hi everyone. Haven't read the thread, have I missed anything important

I'm really pissed off today.

Hope everyone is ok and enjoying their day

Might come back later if i cheer up

eca · 13/07/2007 16:24

oh, yes, can't believe I forgot to say...

Went to see lollipop lady today, who was lovely and I've ordered 1 bamboo lollipop nappy, 2 onelife and 3 terries to try Wont be able to pick them up until after our holiday in a couple of weeks time, but looking forward to giving them a go I couldn't resist the bamboo one. Poor T was lay on her kitchen table trying on a pink one over his sleepsuit! Poor little boy...

eca · 13/07/2007 16:26

Hi NHN - I take it you're eddas????? - what's wrong?

Katy44 · 13/07/2007 16:31

Hi everyone
Eddas, have just posted on your pissed off thread!
Thanks to everyone who asked how I was feeling, still a bit ill but no worse so hopefully this is as bad as it's going to get.
Still snowed under with assignment, but T has been really good today so that's been hepful.
We've been to Tesco as we had no food left in the house and I bought him a load of 3-6m stuff which was really cute and all reduced
Am feeling a bit about how fast he's growing - he's too big for one of his 0-3 romper suits now (which is a bit of a surprise as he fits into the same ones in blue ) the next clothes I've got him are real clothes, not just romper suits and sleepsuits. Also think we'll have to take the insert out of his car seat as his feet hang over the end I know I've got a while before I worry about him smoking or getting a girl/boyfriend but still...
On the plus side he's learnt to grip properly. He can now get his hand round his toy cow's neck!
KHIN hope things get better tomorrow - you must be exhausted!
Thanks for the pics nutty - very cute, and the jokes Pinions!
Leaky - did you ask about meeting up next week? Do you mind if I see how I get on with this assignment? Would like to meet up but am feeling a bit snowed under at the moment.
Sorry to mess you around, if you need to make plans then just assume I can't, hopefully I will be able to. x

eca · 13/07/2007 16:46

catching up a bit and still not got to the jobs...

Hi Katy where's eddas's thread?

maveta - I've been looking for a yoghurt cake recipe! Can't wait to try!!

eca · 13/07/2007 16:47

ok, just found it, don't worry x

NearlyHeddaslessNick · 13/07/2007 16:48

Hiya, yep eca i'm eddas, will change my hp name soon Went tosee it last night, it was great

Thanks for posting on my thread Katy, will link in a minute if anyone wants to know. Not very exciting. Just boring crap family stuff!

Pinions · 13/07/2007 16:50

Love the straightforwardness of your post Eddas.

Would you like to expand?

Still not really here so off again.

And can't wait to try the yog cake too, calories???

The bit about adding a whole cup of oil made me a bit though in all honesty.

NearlyHeddaslessNick · 13/07/2007 16:56

Thanks!! see herewww.mumsnet.com/Talk?topicid=2724&threadid=355684&stamp=070713165117

eca · 13/07/2007 16:57

Nearlyheadless ooo, am very of you seeing the film. We're trying to work out how I can leave T and go. Just posted on your thread. No advice I'm afraid, but hope you manage to get it sorted lovely.

Pinions - yoghurt cake calories... Mmm, yes probably loads. Although I use oil for carrotcake instead of another fat. If you use sunflower the fats in it are better for you than a cake with butter in IYSWIM >

NearlyHeddaslessNick · 13/07/2007 17:00

Thanks eca, you MUST see it, it's very dark but every bit as good as the others. Some people clapped at the endVery odd!! Dh is a HUGE fan(wouldn't think so to look at him) so I had to book tickets for the first night. He looked like a kid in a sweetshop when I told him We've got the book coming next sat too>>>>
