If you have an October 2006 baby and you?ve started weaning, please don?t read the rest of this post: it?s not relevant to you.
----------
OK, if you haven?t started weaning and you?re wondering what everyone is cross about but don't want to ask, here?s a quick run-down.
The World Health Organisation (WHO) advises that babies don?t need solids before the age of 6 months. Note: this advice is for all babies, not just developing world ones.
You can find a short summary of the WHO recommendation here .
If you're feeling brave, the page also has a couple of links to quite technical papers discussing the research behind the advice.
This is just info ? it?s your baby, your decision, and no-one can tell you what to do. I was very glad to be shown this info when my first baby was born, so am passing on the favour iyswim.
Cheers and good luck.
