Hello - over here!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
pmoore · 22/02/2007 20:02

Thanks marthahm- will call tomorrow.

BENDYB · 22/02/2007 20:24

oh dear pmoore, never mind eh, i'm finding it hard stickin 2 it at the mo! & i agree with u bout the weaning by the way, why has this suddenly turned into a weaning debate??? there's enough of them on the bloody weaning threads!!!!

LaineyandLia · 22/02/2007 20:29

Hello again - thanks to the lady who put the link up in the old thread to come to this one - it took me long enough to find you on the other one!!!

llareggub - Lia is 20wks on friday and i'm interested in blw too (maybe i could use the contact feature to talk to you some more about it???). Not really considering weaning until 6 months hopefully as Lia is a dinky girl - only 12lbs at 19wks!!! She's just very laid back and been quite a lazy feeder on the whole.

Gingme - my lo was sleeping through, then had broncholitis and wanted night feeds which was fair enough. Anyway she seems to have gone back to one night feed now - don't know why, habit i guess??? It seems bad to me cos i really got used to my sleep again!!! Much sympathy to anyone who's never had a good night's sleep since lo was born

llareggub · 22/02/2007 20:47

suspect it became a debate about weaning because the thread title alluded to weaning. as you might guess this is a controversial topic here when under 6 months.

Rumpel · 22/02/2007 21:20

Goodness me! You try to be jocular and you start a controversy! Flippin' heck some folk have no sense of humour - hijackers.
Just as well we've got all these folk to help us as I'm sure our poor wee addled brains wouldn't be able to cope otherwise. Some of us just aren't fit to be Mums are we?

Well,

Glad to hear you are all coping.
Pmoore - tell us how you get on at the osteo - I'm interested to know.
Gingeme - Cats is one of my favourites. (I've got 3 and 1 stray, had to get 1 put down recently, was 4, was 5 last year!)

Taffy - wow sounds like an excellent labour and delivery. None of the endless hours of progressive labour and horrid hospital food.

Am off to bed now as I am very tired - so hope I sleep tonight.

OP posts:
Gingeme · 22/02/2007 21:45

Goodnight Rumple.
Lainey my lo has slept through once since he was bornand that night my ds3 decided to be a little sod and mess about all night.

lo also managed to roll on to her side last nite after much anger and frustration on her part it was so funny to watch!!!!

hello to lainey!!!

pmoore · 23/02/2007 10:25

Got an appointment for 3rd March with James in Tunbridge Wells- day before LO's Christening so I'll be leaving my mum to cook for it alone.
Again thanks martha.

pmoore · 23/02/2007 10:28

gingeme- sorry to hear about your grandad- it is a very sad thing- when my grandma died I just kept in my heart that at least she was out of pain.

Swizzler · 23/02/2007 16:45

Gingeme: so sorry to hear about your grandad. Take care of yourself

What was all that about weaning! Felt strangely irritated by 'proper' MNetters leaping in on OUR thread - grrr.

Lainey: I'm interested in BLW as well - have you seen Aitch's blog? We tried a bit of baby rice out of interest but William sicked it up so I reckon he's not ready yet. The big draw of BLW in no pureering - lazy mum me

Had a lovely night out - in a wine bar (v. sopheesticated). Got back to find raddled DH as W had been screaming most of the evening . He was considerate enough not to ring me though . Calpol plus nurofen eventually worked and he was asleep by the time I got back.

Re teeth, W now has two sharp lumps on the front of his gums where his incisors would be, as well as the raised lines underneath. Does this sound normal? May start a thread on the topic.

Tomorrow's mission is to buy a Bumbo - will let you know how we get on . At MIL's at the moment - had a nice longh nap this afternoon, William is playing with his granny and grandpa is cooking supper - I may stay awhile

Gingeme · 23/02/2007 22:29

Good evening and thankyou for your kind words ladies. Had a bit of a rough day today actualy. The funerals Tuesday 6th March so got to sort some flowers out Monday and dh has got to book that day off from work.
Well hope you all have a good weekend. Take care xxx

LaineyandLia · 23/02/2007 22:50

Gingeme - my thoughts are with you at this sad time

Swizzler - Where do i look for Aitch's blog? Do you 'google' it? Lia also definately has a tooth coming at about where incisor should be and others look prominent at the front so don't worry.

Youngmum21 - just been to my second swimming lesson and instructor is fab - before we submerge we have to blow hard on their faces so lo gasps and holds breath - it really works!! Don't know whether you are bf or ff but if bf have you tried 'cluster feeding' in the aft/early pm? Lo stocks up on calories and this can help them go through longer. Was also 'dreamfeeding' at 11pm but stopped last night as Lia was waking for night feed anyway - low and behold she sleeps through again!!! What's that about??

To anyone with lo not sleeping i can recommend 'The no cry sleep solution' and 'The baby whisperer' for some ideas - just don't try and kill yourself doing everything in there!!!

Rumpel · 23/02/2007 23:00

Eve' All,

Gingeme - so sorry about your Grandpa and your rough day - it's a horribloe time. I'm pretty pathetic when it comes to things like that, I just go to bits. (Hence why I avoid reading newspapers and watching the news) Why is the funeral so late?

Swizzler - I know what you mean I was really annoyed last night after reading all the interlopers views. Don't get me wrong advice is nice but within limits. I was seriously thinking of changing the thread title last night to get them off our backs!

We've had a very busy day today. Was rushing like mad to make nurses appointment this morning. I actually slept properly last night, for the first time since January, and consequently felt exhausted this morning but I had to get up for appointment. Amber had a massive bum explosion and Ihad to change her so I was late. I think I still haven't got rid of the infection I had after having her so was gertting a swab to check.
Then we had a wander, bought a hula hoop in my latest quest to exercise the weight off used to be good am now rubbish Met a friend for lunch. Had to go and oick up Dh's anti-malaria prescription £87.00 He is off to Angola to work next month. Then we went out to old work colleagues tonight. Poor Amber is shattered as she just wouldn't sleep today, she is a nosy wee thing. I am hoping she sleeps until about 10am tomorrow so I can get a decent kip.
I've managed to lose 8lbs now yippee! How is everyone else doing re weight?

Night all.x

Gingeme · 24/02/2007 10:05

I dont know Rumple thats what I said to my Mum when she told me the date of the funeral. She said thats just when they can do it.
Hey guess what? Lo slept from 7.45pm to 6.09am had an 8oz bottle then slept till 8.05
fingers crossed he keeps it up.......

majormoo · 24/02/2007 12:15

gingeme-sorry to hear your news. hope next couple of weeks go ok.

welcome lainey

re all those weaning posts-WTF!!! perhaps people think we are too dosy to make our own minds up after we were v.publicly conned by kat when we were peggars!!
anyway, at risk of being overrun with more -well meant i know-weaning advice, we gave DS some baby rice this morning. he is 4 months but both gp and hv suggested it.

got an apology from boots yesterday. oh better go -both kids yelling

Rumpel · 24/02/2007 19:17

Eve' All,

Gingeme - perhaps the funeral parlour is just very busy at the moment. Still, makes it pretty horrid for you though having to wait. My LO goes off to sleep after her bath and massage and I never know whether to leave her or not. I usually wake her about 9-9.30pm for another feed but do you think I should just leave her?

Aren't bumbos fabby? A just loves hers - she is like the Queen of Sheba she loves her grub too - only milky baby rice but she shark attacks the spoon!

How's the weight loss? I live by the sea and took A a big long walk along the promenade today, she slept through most of it but when she woke up she was awstruck at the very loud seagulls. Treated myself to a Greggs choc muffin - yum.

OP posts:
pmoore · 24/02/2007 20:45

Hi all,
Gingeme- hope you LO manages to sleep through again tonight.
Rumpel- well done on the 8lb loss. LOL at the 'shark attack' on spoon. DP calls LO 'Tigershark' now because of her shark attack on the bottle teat!

I have got back on track with my diet this week, I hope that when I get weighed on Wednesday I have either stayed the same or lost. Mind you the amount of 'bad' food I've eaten. Found myself beating myself up about it but I'll get there.

Not sure what I'll wear to LO's christening next Sunday- not looking forward to it now as people are coming that I was hoping wouldn't- loooooooooong story. I just want to enjoy my daughters christening thats all.

I love the Bumbo, well worth the money. Just wish LO's neck was strong enough to hold her head upright. Hopefully marthahm's osteo recommendation will be able to help. Not sure the link is going to work but have posted a pic of LO on her Bumbo!

Bumbo

Sorry for long posting DP watching Primevil and I'm not in to that!!

pmoore · 24/02/2007 20:49

Wow- it worked- hooray for me!! Self praise will get me everywhere!

youngmum21 · 24/02/2007 21:08

pmoore- your lo has lovely chubby cheeks i just want to pinch then lol x

Rumpel · 24/02/2007 21:26

pmoore - your Lo (Hope?) is gorgeous - she's a wee heartbreaker - well done you for growing such a lovely baby!

OP posts:
Rumpel · 24/02/2007 22:56

HOW do you add a photo - I am lost help!!

OP posts:
Gingeme · 25/02/2007 10:56

Good morning ladies just an update lo slept rhough again last night. If he does it again for 2 more nights hes going in with his big brother huray huray huray.
Took ds3 to the A&E walk in centre last night. Hes still complaining of tummy pains ans shouting in pain every now and then. Didnt wait too long fortunately. The doc said he has virul gasterenuritis (spelt totaly wrong) and not to worry if he doesnt want to eat as long as he drinks lots.
Good luck with the weight loss pmoore. I havnt realy been very strict with mine this week so it'll be interesting to see if Ive lost any.
Anyway off to Tesco now got to get lo some plastic bibs as he soaks all his other ones in seconds. Have a good day xx

majormoo · 25/02/2007 11:05

morning all. pmoore-she is lovely. I love those cheeks!

sorry-not sure how to attach a photo myself.

Poor DS has conjuncitvitus. He could hardly open one eye yesterday evening, but have got some drops and he seems better now.

Swizzler · 25/02/2007 14:48

Gosh, aren't we all busy at the moment? Well done Gingeme on the sleeping - still a looong way off for us. DS did do a 6 hours stint the other night (8-2am) unfortunately I was awake for most of it. Keep telling myself that he'll get there eventually.

Went to Argos but they had sold out of Bumbos - may have a look online.

Lainey: the blog is here if that doesn't work, the address is www.babyledweaning.co.uk. Lots of v funny photos

DS is enjoying himself at Granny's - he collected an admirer in the coffee the shop the other day, a cute tiny blond girl who wanted to talk to the baby . He exerted himself and chattered away to her, even patting her with a grimy paw . He definitely likes talking to girls - may have to watch that later on
