try Anbesol

it's a liquid you dab on gums/terth/ulcers and they will be numbed for a while

poor boy, sounds horrendous

ZingTheGreat · 04/02/2015 22:04

bonjela - check active ingredient, I'm pretty sure it doesn't have any paracetamol and is ok to give with calpol

but I prefer Dentinox gel. it works better then Bonjela or Calgel (the latter contains paracetamol I think)

GrouchyKiwi · 05/02/2015 09:09

Poor Zechariah. That sounds very sore.

Second Dentinox. I think it works better than other options. DD2 still has no teeth, but for DD1 I'd give her sticks of cucumber and apple that had been in the fridge. Cold cloths to suck on worked well too.

Thanks ickle and Snow. Children were better yesterday. Wonder if it was a full moon on a Tuesday. Wink

DD2 is still waking 4+ times a night. I'm going to cook some chicken for her today and add that to her vegetables.

icklekid · 05/02/2015 09:14

Oh dear 6 teeth at once! Yes to Dentinox- ds likes taste too

Ds only woke twice last night and was fairly easy to settle although 3.30 we co slept as he was wide awake and I was not prepared to start the day that early- he woke again when dh alarm went off at 5- disadvantage of co sleeping I guess!

AuntieMaggie · 05/02/2015 12:54

ellie You can use dentinox more often than bonjela and you can use both normal calpol and ibuprofen version but alternate them.also teething powders - I used boots own as they all have the same ingredient.

kiwi it was a full moon this week but not sure what day

icklekid · 07/02/2015 18:43

So ds has a rash on tummy and nappy area I'm 95% sure its just like a heat rash...left it for an hour and it got redder so called 111, nurse going to ring back but ds now asleep ... I don't need to worry if hes not got a temp and not itching do I? Arhh hate ill babies!

AuntieMaggie · 07/02/2015 19:06

Ooh I don't know - have you used or fed him anything different today?

icklekid · 07/02/2015 21:46

Nope nothing different at all Sad he's fast asleep and 111 nurse never rang back- if its worse in morning I'm going to drop in centre ...

NancyinCali · 08/02/2015 03:39

ickle has he got a cold? DD2 has had a viral rash (confirmed by doctor) associated with a bad cold.

She's super-sad with her cold and has gummy eyes, cough etc. Also ear infection which doctor said we didn't need antibiotics for unless she gets a temperature or pain. She's slept through for the last two nights so I'm thinking she's not in pain!

icklekid · 08/02/2015 06:44

No cold but still got croup which is viral... nurse rang at 1am but missed her as was settling ds- took an hour to get him back to sleep but more awake than upset! Rash much paler this morning so will keep an eye on it today. Did you get cream nancy? Thanks for advice

icklekid · 09/02/2015 08:22

Just to say all fine dr from church checked him yesterday morning and just viral rash. Now to catch up after about 4h sleep last night Sad don't know what was up but could do with these teeth coming through!

ZingTheGreat · 09/02/2015 14:44

got friends to do school pick ups today as most of my kids are ill. BabyZing has had a bad snotty cold for weeks and I think it's turned into a chest infection, so back to GP's tomorrow (having been 3 times already in last week and a half with 3 of them)
bf is challenging as he can't breathe through his nose and his night time sleep is disturbed - last night he was up from 11pm - 1am and just wouldn't sleep.
I'm beyond tired . I'm zinged!

I had to completely stop giving him all solids as he threw up after most meals (sick was full of snot). he is taking extra milk to compensate so not really a problem, but it's very annoying to have to stop after only a few weeks.
Angry

I'm considering putting a big H on front door and start charging for parking nearby!Grin

he is now very good at manoeuvring around on the floor and loves sitting in his "doughnut" blow up ring.
not crawling yet, but close to it.

I'll try and include a photo of him soon.

hope you are ok or if ill on the mend.

GrouchyKiwi · 09/02/2015 16:00

Aw zing. This is one reason I have so much admiration for people with big families. Having several ill little ones at the and time must be so exhausting. Much Brew for you.

Have a very clingy baby today. She has also started biting (with no teeth) and pinging my bra strap while feeding so that's fun.

NancyinCali · 10/02/2015 03:02

Glad DS is fine ickle Smile

Ugh zing having two sick kids and DH is enough. Hope everyone is well soon.

ZingTheGreat · 10/02/2015 13:21

BabyZing hasn't got a chest infection, hurray!

DS1 is still poorly, but GP checked his tonsils and he is ok to go to school tomorrow.
3 more days then half term....I can't wait.
Thanks for sympathy.

big hugs to all who need it.

icklekid · 10/02/2015 17:33

You can make it zing not long to go!

Well ds has decided today is the day that we really crack rolling yet hates being on his tummy! Lots of rolling him back, he rolls over and repeat. He's also tired as hardly slept today! 7 months tomorrow where did the time go?

elliejjtiny · 10/02/2015 19:17

kiwi DS5 holds onto my bra strap when feeding. He's probably trying to make sure I don't put him down mid feed to sort one of the others out Grin.

zing hope the little zings are on the mend now, we're just getting over snotfest over here.

Thanks all for teething advice. I think he's over the worst of it now. Ended up buying amber teething necklace in the end, much to the horror of DH and his aunty. You'd have thought I'd put him in a pink frilly dress the way they were carrying on.

icklekid · 11/02/2015 08:29

kiwi think I would prefer my bra strap to my hair Which ds likes to pull!

ellie think dh would be the same if I got one for ds- may go for ankle one if he seems in pain again

AuntieMaggie · 11/02/2015 21:07

kiwi ds eats/pulls/plays with my straps (I wear vests around the house normally) sometimes pulling my top down and going 'ahhh' on the top of my boob Hmm anyone would think I stopped the BF!

Becky2208 · 14/02/2015 13:09

Ickle DS also likes to pull my hair. And dig his nails into my cheek, gouge my eyes and stick his fingers in my mouth and up my nose! I feel quite beaten up a lot of the time!

AuntieMaggie · 14/02/2015 15:39

ditto becky :) gotta love them

icklekid · 17/02/2015 17:19

How are you all doing ladies?
Sad this thread is so quiet!
Anyone giving up anything for lent?

Had ds weighed today all this food is doing him good and he's on his way back up to 50th percentile. Lots of poos today!
How goes rolling/crawling/standing/sleeping?

AuntieMaggie · 17/02/2015 18:52

Hi ickle :)

So so here... things are up and down with me and dp...

ds has been a pain today after sleeping through til 4am this morning. He's rolling all over the place, but shuffling and crawling backwards. He can go forward with his feet/knees but not his hands... where did my baby go?

I should give up eating crap for lent but not sure I can be bothered!

what about you?

icklekid · 17/02/2015 19:18

hope things start improving with you and dp auntie AMAZING news about ds sleeping through though...hope my ds has been listening as they seem to conspire about everything else!

I'm giving up chocolate bars and cake- still allow myself to have a square of 70% dark chocolate a day but nothing else! (She says unless ds sleeping gets even worse in which case forget that!)

Casmama · 17/02/2015 21:48

My DS us the same Auntie- can't move his arms. He'll rock back and forwards on hands and knees and occasionally launch forward and land on his face but not able to move his arms yet.
I think he must be dreaming about it too because he seems to wake up rolling onto his tummy and straight up to rock back and forwards!

I was considering giving up chocolate and wine but think the will to live may go too so might have to rethink.

Glad to hear your DS is climbing up the centiles Ickle.

I suspect most people are on the Facebook page but I quite like the anonymity of MN so didn't fancy joining it.
