R spewed spectacularly all over me in Edinburgh Woollen Mill cafe. Turns out Wilton Shopping Village doesn't sell children's clothes anywhere Hmm Grumped and was clingy, cheered up after an hour or so and played with the bigger boys, happy all the way home but not hungry at tea and clearly exhausted. Because of the lack of tea I took a banana and some milk into his room for story time when we went up for his bath, he tried to curl up on his changing mat to sleep. Tried again to lie down to sleep in the bath and got upset because it was wet! So I got him dressed, went in to his room to put his bag on and he spewed everywhere again --i managed to get nearly all of it on the mat luckily). So he's been asleep in bed since 4:50, I'm trying not to worry about how shit my night is going to be. I know he's ok as he mumped for a few seconds just now. He had calpol before he spewed but I'll give ibuprofen next just in case as I'm hoping some of it was absorbed. He doesn't seem to have a temp nor does he seem in pain (although he's definitely not a "happy chucker")

Experienced Mum Friends we saw today suggested early Chicken Pox signs (a couple of other babies we know have it although we haven't seen them for a while but it's definitely doing the rounds in the area) so I'm on rash alert and won't be going to breastfeeding tomorrow nor work tonight and probably tomorrow not relieved at all If he's not spotty or obviously ill we're going out with my mum to a wonderful kids charity shop in the morning and I'll keep him in the sling and well away from others.

Oh and I left my keys in the car door at home when I moved the car seat over to my friend's car so we could go together. Thank fuck for lovely Mini Supermarket staff we share a car park with who spotted them and kept them for me! The advantages of living in the same house for years in a small town :o

PetiteRaleuse · 14/04/2014 18:27

pidj ibuprofen shouldn't be given to a child who is vomiting. It can at best irritate the stomach and at worst damage it. It should only be used if they are keeping food down in case of pain or fever. Sorry I am a tad obsessive over this

PurplePidjin · 14/04/2014 18:32

Thanks, I left it up there but he wouldn't take it so will bin it next time I go in. Watching him retch was awful, he has his water there. I rubbed his back for a few seconds and he went straight back to sleep, hopefully I can eat my pizza and wash in peace - I've had no lunch and can smell sick in my hair Sad and missed my bath last night as it went stone cold while I repeatedly settled him. I smell

ValiumQueen · 14/04/2014 18:44

It sounds like a tummy bug to me PP

ValiumQueen · 14/04/2014 18:46

And I completely agree with PR to avoid brufen. It should only be given with food and not to a vomming baby. Have the squits started yet? They may well kick in soon.

PurplePidjin · 14/04/2014 18:52

No, but he pooed at 5 and 7 this morning which is unusual for him (well, the first one. 7am is normal)

Passmethecrisps · 14/04/2014 19:47

Poor wee R pp. I hope you get a peaceful night.

Fuckingfucks have no idea what they are missing out on vq. And I get what you mean about feeling pressure. I am glad you got some quality feedback though.

P is in bed now having been dosed up on AB. Actually, we got sent a photo from one of our lunch guests - p was all cuddled in to him and she looks really poorly. Fingers crossed she stays in bed all night. However, if she struggles I will just go with it and snuggle down with her in her room. Poor DH slept on her bedroom floor with nothing nuht the changing may for comfort.

PurplePidjin · 14/04/2014 20:33

Poor wee babbies Wine

R has been quiet for 2 hours. I feel like a whole new person now I'm clean! Nappies are on the airer to dry, clothes from this morning are in from the line and the sicky stuff plus a few leftover nappies are in on 60, I'll rinse those in the morning when there's a bit more airer space and i don't want to wait up for them

BigPigLittlePig · 14/04/2014 20:40

Hope you have a settled night with R, Pidj. Poor mite, and poor you. Glad you feel better after a shower.

VQ fuckers. Have felt similarly to you re: career thing. Swearing definitely helps Smile

Pass I hope P is better soon, did you find out what the Abs are for? Chest?

Have had a good day. F has only been awake for 7 hrs of theday, bless her. she had a long nap after lunch so I sat in the garden and read my book and got sunburnt for 2.5 hours. Was lovely to do something entirely for moi, for a change.

Tomorrow we go to my parents for 3 days Smile

Elizadoesdolittle · 14/04/2014 20:59

vq absolute fuckers

pidj hope R is much improved tomorrow

And pass same to P. hope the abs kick in.

lovely day with nct peeps over. Both girls knackered and in bed by 6:30 Shock

Passmethecrisps · 14/04/2014 21:00

That sounds blissful bp.

The AB's are for her chest. She rattles when she breathes. Just came from nothing in the airport on the way home. Hope the meds work quickly. How soon before we should see an improvement do you think?

Passmethecrisps · 14/04/2014 21:01

Qq. Anyone frozen Spanish omlette before?

PurplePidjin · 14/04/2014 21:06

No Pass but an ex went to a Little Thief once and ordered fried egg on his breakfast only to be told they'd run out and could only do scrambled Hmm apparently it came preprepared and we assume frozen Hmm

Passmethecrisps · 14/04/2014 21:24

I was once told that a 'fried egg was the hardest thing in a kitchen to cook'

BigPigLittlePig · 14/04/2014 21:27

Usually 24-48 hours Pass, ie. feeling better in oneself, temp settled. The cough may take a good while longer as will be ongoing inflammation - just hopefully no infective shit.

It was blissful Smile
It was also the first book I have read, start to finish, since F has been born. I used to devour books like they were going out of fashion. Think 3 a week or thereabouts.

PetiteRaleuse · 14/04/2014 21:46

pass DD1's first cold was after a flight. The fun planes in the sky hold bugs for lo's. Hope the abs help fight off the nasty froggy bugs. When in doubt, blame the French. I do :o

ChasingDaisy · 14/04/2014 21:46

I was the same with books pig. Still haven't managed to finish one since O arrived. I wish my commute to work was longer than 9 minutes, so that I could read. It sounds blissful. You deserve it x

ChasingDaisy · 14/04/2014 21:47

PR go to bed!

PetiteRaleuse · 14/04/2014 21:55

Going...

Not sleepy enough. Maybe will wander round AIBU for a bit. That's a fucking sleeping pill.

YellowWellies · 14/04/2014 22:15

I was reading 2-3 books a week on my tablet when BF. I've read over a hundred since he was born looking at my tablet library. Sadly I've finished one since I weaned him Sad . I do miss cuddling up with him and a good read (of my choice! not the Whale and the fecking Snail Wink ) at bedtime and nap times. Even though bedtime is quicker and more business like now and I'm downstairs by 8 I did love 40 minutes of feeding, cuddling and reading on a night.

flouncymcflouncerson · 14/04/2014 23:27

3 wake ups already..... Sad Sad

GTbaby · 15/04/2014 00:02

Have a moany moody day.
Decided a nap was more important then getting dinner ready. Woke to H crying out for me from his cot. As I totally over slept. And H had to have left overs for dinner. Well actually he didnt in end. Rather then eat his roti with dal he had roti with custard. He didnt eat lunch either so just wanted to get some food into him Blush
And other weird food combos yet? Or is it just my baby.
A is on 3 meals a day now. Feel like all I do is the feed milk sleep cycle.

Must sleep. He will be up soon.

GTbaby · 15/04/2014 00:04

I tried reading when bf. end up on MN or FB more. Although have read two books since A. Currently trying to start 12years a slave.
