As we have all our gorgeous babies now, welcome aboad the 5th Gemini bus.

Drinks and previously banned foods supplied in bulk, Car seats installed, slings and prams at the ready, as we head into parenthood, and all the excitement, and sleepless nights our little ones will bring along the way.

We do have a video monitor so maybe we just need to try that and just watch him.

I'm such a first-timer Blush

kittykatsforever · 29/07/2013 10:52

Pear did you get any feedback from your monitor?

peardrop2 · 29/07/2013 10:55

Yeah Kitty you're right :-( I keep forgetting that its different for baby p. I'm expecting too much of him aren't I :-( His reflux over night has really got bad. I really can't handle the yelps he makes. So sad to see him in such pain. I hope he feels better soon Sad

peardrop2 · 29/07/2013 10:56

They haven't replied. Although I think I was expecting too much from the video monitor too lol I have high expectations Wink

kittykatsforever · 29/07/2013 10:57

Me too, you really can't leave them to cry if they are in pain or distress at all,I've been their though where it feels like itl never get better it your doing something wrong. He will get it in his own time when the meds etc are just right for him, poor baby p

kittykatsforever · 29/07/2013 10:58

Did you want HD pear?Grin Lol

peardrop2 · 29/07/2013 11:00

I was expecting HD quality! Amazing zoom function as well Blush

FrussoHathor · 29/07/2013 11:47

I don't blame you pear of all the improvements in technology since dd1 was born, monitors haven't improved.

peardrop2 · 29/07/2013 12:45

It is strange isn't Frus!

Just received confirmation that my NuK bottle is arriving tmz. I may start the testing tomorrow night...eek! Do not fancy pumping in the middle of the night though :-(

kittykatsforever · 29/07/2013 15:20

What went wrong when you tried at 10 pear?

peardrop2 · 29/07/2013 15:40

Kitty ~ I can't quite remember but I remember I blew up like Jordan?! Oh yeah I think it was that one time that baby pear slept a long time and I was kept awake in agony.

peardrop2 · 29/07/2013 15:41

My sister has just recommended the NUK latex dummy. Why has it taken almost 10 weeks to tell me this!!!! Ahhhhhh! I can't buy anymore dummies...I really can't Shock

kittykatsforever · 29/07/2013 16:31

Lol pear I think if they don't like dummy's they just don't like them I'd give it up
Surley they would have been worse if you hadn't expressed? The only time I didn't do mine last wk kitten slept til 5 and I started leaking at 3:30 Hmm if I express they've been full at that time but not bursting

FrussoHathor · 29/07/2013 16:57

I've given up on dummies. I think if we've got to 11 weeks without one, we can do it now. this is a huge deal for me since dds had them from early on

kittykatsforever · 29/07/2013 17:15

That's my feeling too frus, we've done the hard bit!
Ive always been glad since that dd1 rejected one

FrussoHathor · 29/07/2013 17:35

Oh my goodness. I have a possessive piggy. Just expressed 5.5oz.
Had a rather full side so start expressing, ds woke up, because he can smell milk a mile off so I offered him the other side and carried on. All the while he's looking between me and the side he doesn't have, with a look that seems to say "Oy, that's mine" he has now claimed possession and is making funny little noises to it. he's probably telling it off. He's so funny.

FrussoHathor · 29/07/2013 17:37

It's the boob he's claimed not the bottle. That's safely store in the fridge now.

kittykatsforever · 29/07/2013 17:48

I'd love dd to take that much frus, she has alot for breckfast but so far in the past 2 weeks has had less then 2oz before bed Hmm

FrussoHathor · 29/07/2013 18:01

I don't know how much he took. But I took the excesspammy away and he emptied me out. So he must be getting at least 6oz a feed.
He has taken 6oz of formula and then had both sides too. (He's a piggy) but if I'm in the house he'll refuse the bottle. And sometimes he won't touch it at all.

FrussoHathor · 29/07/2013 18:02

kitty how do you work out how much they have in a feed? Or is that from a bottle?

kittykatsforever · 29/07/2013 18:19

In the morning I can tell my boobs are very full and when I express I can get 4oz a side and she will have both but at night she has a bottle, she can be sucking away for ages then I pick it up and only an ounce has gone Hmm it seems to take forever!
I'd love her to have a big feed

bringonthetrumpets · 29/07/2013 18:42

Fwiw, I can never fully empty a breast when I express milk and I express about 4 oz per side, so I know she's gotta be getting more than. But, she usually one takes one side per feed, maybe both in the afternoon/evenings when I'm not as full enormous

Lorelei353 · 29/07/2013 19:47

My DS only takes one side per feed, except sometimes before bed when I don't have as much. Even in the evenings it gushes out though.

kittykatsforever · 29/07/2013 19:49

Bring I can't either, they are much more effective at getting every drop arnt they!
Just gave kitten formula for the first time, just wondered if the sweeter taste might entice her... And it did to a point, she wolfed down an ounce really quick then the year went in and that was it, she refused to let it back in her mouth and did the side suck, you girls all know it, they turn their heads into your boob and attempt to suck out the milk through the clothes part of me was abit pleased though as I don't want her to prefer formula over me

FrussoHathor · 29/07/2013 20:27

kitty breastmilk is sweeter.
I know the side suck, ds would suck milk out of my arm given half a chance.
It's odd how some babies like one boob per feed, and others 2. And piggys like ds would be happy if I had 4. (I've had one of each)
