Our first thread has almost finished so I thought we'd need a new one!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Pascha · 28/03/2013 17:16

Feed and doze was us til very very recently. We're about the same age so hopefully the end is in sight? DH asked me last night if this was it, the 12 week point where everything is supposed to settle down and have we turned the corner at last? God knows. I hope so.

birdies · 28/03/2013 17:35

I think the 12lb rule might be true as by then they have enough reserves to sleep through. merignue how much does he weigh?

Lora1982 · 28/03/2013 20:52

So the wonder weeks thing are people going by the due date the scan gave you or the due date you worked out? If i use theirs hes going theough the 11 wk thing if i use mine hes not. In real life... Hes DEFINATLY going through it

lollipoppi · 29/03/2013 06:41

I can't quite believe im going to write this ..... But DD slept from 7.30pm until (drumroll please ) ..... 5am!!!!!!!
Had another feed and went back to sleep!!!!!!

Now I'm up worried that something is wrong, temp is fine but she did have a very "awake" day yesterday

Lostbobbles · 29/03/2013 07:13

Right that's it, I'm sending mine back, she's obviously faulty. Worst night, lost count of number of times she woke up, resorted back to crook of arm from four as needed some sleep. Hmm.HmmHmmHmmHmm

CreepyCrawly · 29/03/2013 07:30

Sorry lost bit that made me laugh. Hope you have a better day today.

After being very upset last night following her jabs, Nancy slept 9-5 and is back sleeping now. I've had a lovely long shower and now I'm hoping I can dry my hair before she wakes. A quick tidy up would be lovely too!

She 11lb2 at her weigh in yesterday, and above average height. With her dad being 6'6" it's not a surprise really.

Hope ya'll have a good day!

Angielka · 29/03/2013 08:55

Hello everyone [waves] I've only just found you lot. My DD2 was born on 18th Jan so is ten weeks today.

We had a few nights of 6 hours but recent nights have seen a max of 4 at a time Sad still, she's a cheerful soul and smiles at 4am make up for some of the sleep deprivation. I haven't read all the threads that came before, but would love to join in now Grin

Any of your little ones sucking their thumb? Mine found hers yesterday and is now refusing a dummy...

Pascha · 29/03/2013 09:19

Oh poor Lost Grin! Its crap when that happens.

Hi Angie and welcome to our little throng!

Dan is 12 weeks today and is finally settling at night - Hoo-bloody-ray. Asleep last night in his crib by 7.20pm, woke at 2am, 4.40am. If we can just lose the second wake-up I will be happy. DS1 didn't drop it til around 5 months though so I think we still have a few weeks of twice nightly wakings.

Today is the day we convert DS1's cot to a bed. DH is off to argos to get a bed guard and also a second monitor as he's unwilling to let DS1 go without one yet.

Louise85 · 29/03/2013 09:35

Hi Angel I wish my LO would find his thumb since dummy is driving us insane!!

Had a shocking night with DS - he's full of cold and his nose bleeds when he sneezes Sad...Dh took over at 5, but since we have visitors I can't stay in bed all day - it might be a llllooooonnnggg weekend. Just taking 10 minutes to myself before I become sociable.

Very Envy at those who LO sleep lots - Ds is 14lbs (9 weeks - he's on 91st percentile)...gggrrrr

CreepyCrawly · 29/03/2013 09:39

Welcome Angel! Our DDs share a birthday :)

Nancy's very close to finding her thumb, if she'll only remove it from the 'got your nose' position

happyhow · 29/03/2013 09:53

Welcome Angie!

Bailey just likes to stick his entire fist in his mouth! He also adopts the 'got your nose' position. We've never used a dummy with him - he seems to like his fists! When he sucks on our fingers, we know it's hunger and not comfort.

We are def going through the 11 week wonder week. He's been a right grump the last couple of days. Our sleep has also gone out the window - back to every 4hrs through the night too. Hmm

Got a kids party this afternoon - will let me know what my life is in for now... (Hubby is very glad that he's working!)

CreepyCrawly · 29/03/2013 09:58

Hope your DS is better soon Louise. We're just getting over a cold here. Thank god for the snot sucker!

Good luck happy!

Angielka · 29/03/2013 10:57

Thanks for the welcome!

Isn't it funny how things change when you have kids... I was so anti-dummies before but now, with a 30 month DD1 who has eczema and a constantly red raw thumb from sucking it, I now see them much more positively! Molly has always wanted to suck loads, and although she's ebf, I ignored the friend who said to shove a boob in her mouth instead of a finger/dummy when she wanted to go to sleep. She's already a monster baby bit of a chubster at 15lbs (up there on the chart with louise's) so no need for extra milk when she isn't hungry!

Sorry about your night Louise, it's so rough when they're ill and so little. creepy we're also getting over a cold although we haven't got the snot sucker out so far... enjoy the party happy - there's a special kind of crazy that accompanies kids' parties. pascha how old is your DS1? Our DD1 took a bit of convincing to go in her 'big girl's bed' but now she loves it. The best bit is that she doesn't seem to have realised she could get out without waiting for us to go in and get her up... long may that last!

Pascha · 29/03/2013 13:44

DS1 is 2.6, about time we did it as he will have to sleep in a bed when we go away in May.

We've just got the 3-6mth clothes out and I've finally packed away all the little tiny newborn bits. can't quite bring myself to give it all away yet so its gone up in the loft for now.

Off to put a chicken in the oven...

CreepyCrawly · 29/03/2013 15:07

Today I have been mostly sniffing my baby. How do they smell so scrummy?!

birdies · 29/03/2013 15:43

Welcome angie!

Creepy I know, I could gobble her up for lunch!

pascha are you a bit of a chef?!

We tried baby sensory today but I think I may leave it a few more weeks as she got very sleepy towards the end.

My diets gone wrong by the way everyone. I'm a chocolate eating fatty boom boom. It is Easter though....

Pascha · 29/03/2013 15:44

feed, sleep, cry, grump, feed, sleep, cry, grump, feed, sleep, cry, grump, feed, sleep, cry, grump, feed, sleep, cry, grump, feed, sleep, cry, grump, feed, sleep, cry, grump, feed, sleep, cry, grump, feed, sleep, cry, grump, feed, sleep, cry, grump,

All. Day. Long.

AppleCrumples · 29/03/2013 16:31

Ooh that yummy baby smell :)

Welcome angie! I was the same about dummies then ds1 arrived and his dummy saved my sanity. Sadly his brother and sisters all refused dummies :(w

Pascha some days are relentless aren't they? Hope things a bit more settled now.

Dd1 has an infected stye so had to get eye drops today after waiting an hour to see dr yesterday. Poor thing the styes been thete ages but hasn't been a problem til now.

Ds1 went to his first disco last night. It was wierd dropping him off, the kids are all growing up so fast! I remember most of his friends at nursery and now they are all 9. Shock

Pascha · 29/03/2013 16:37

hahaha bit of a chef?!

The bird is stuck to the tray and the potatoes were parboiled too long so it looks like we're having crispy mash instead of proper roasties, surely I can't get the carrots wrong...

Meringue33 · 29/03/2013 17:01

Hi all, welcome Angie and congrats!
Sounding really like the end is in sight then I am very cheered! Did the bath routine with him last night and not too much sleep in day, he slept peacefully on us in evening then went down midnight to 5.45am. At last weigh in he was just over ten pounds (9th centile) so maybe we will have a little longer to wait for an all nighter but great to know it is on the way... He has napped a lot today tho so slightly apprehensive about what tonight will bring...

Meringue33 · 29/03/2013 17:03

He sucks his thumb too it is very cute! It is tiny though compared to a dummy/ my nipple, so can't be very satisfying!

Lostbobbles · 29/03/2013 18:25

Welcome Angie

Birdies- Easter calories don't count Wink

Meringue - my dd has no excuse I'm sure she is about 12lbs now and the days she doesn't sleep much during the day and I silently get hopeful for longer night just gets blown out the window Hmm

Bunny222 · 29/03/2013 18:40

Welcome angie.
My little one has been suxking his thumb on off since week three. So cute!

Was amazed last nite he did 9hours straight, from 8am til 5am. He is 8 weeks, am very proud. Not sure whether its a one off, hope not.

Want to take him swimming now he has had his jabs. How has everyone got on with swimming?

woody2313 · 29/03/2013 18:52

Louise my DS was 14lb at his 6 week check! Shock

Lora1982 · 29/03/2013 19:38

Ok so if hes 12 weeks on monday shouldnt i have heard about the 12 wk jabs by now?

Ive started making a carrot cake for the christening buffet im doing baking tomorrow but i made real cute baby carrots out of icing they look so realistic. Mums informed me because i was distraught that he wasnt allowed a carrot cake christening cake she bought one to go with the sponge one so there will be three different cakes on the table plus a loadof cake pops. So not a buffet in the sense that theres a variety of food stuffs more like a shelf in a cake shop.

Ive started to learn the art of multitasking because my boobs are rarely free i was doing nothing so today i was designing a website with one hand (for a cake maker-no wonder im still fat my lifes got too much cake in it)
