Our first thread has almost finished so I thought we'd need a new one!

Woody - wow - but chunky is so cute - love it!!

How much do your LO sleep during the day? Ds sleeps 8:30-10, 11:30-2:30 & 4-5 (well, kind of - often more) - I can't keep him awake for longer without him becoming a nightmare overtired screaming baby...

Dreading tonight with him being sick. lora you seem quite the domesticated lady doing carrot cake - yum!!

seems like we all back on the straight and narrow diet track after the weekend - I've got family staying that LOVE cooking delicious meals (but incredibly unhealthy - am now like a beached whale on the couch Blush) ... diet from Tuesday Wink

Lost - don't spoil it for me, I must stay positive :-)
Pascha, sorry about your day, mine was like that yesterday :( Today he was mostly sleeping on DP while I ran round packing for our hol
He hasn't had his 9 week old jabs yet, he had a fever then so was sent home. Slightly nervous about taking him on hol without them. My dad is in hospital, would love to take him to visit while we are there to cheer dad up but worried about hospital germs.

Angielka · 30/03/2013 00:02

Ooh apple you sound like a bit of a mummy pro - I am in total awe of anyone who keeps going after two kids.

pascha how were the carrots? Grin

bunny 9 hours?? Envy share the magic secret. Please?

woody2313 · 30/03/2013 03:48

Louise - he is in a routine so should sleep from 8-9.45, 11-12.45, 2-3.45 and 5-5.30. He is usually good at the first three but the short nap at 5 is hard work - he doesn't really like it so refuses to sleep then gets overtired and we often end up bathing him and putting him down to bed early (bathing at 5.45/6ish). This means he's had his last feed by 6.30/7 and will sleep for a good 5/6 hour stretch after that but will always wake for a feed 3 hours after that - 3am/4am - and then again 3 hours after that which is when I get him up. Selfishly I could do with 2 long stretches in the night so I only have to get up once (I go to bed soon after 10!) but LO is still only 8 weeks old and he always (hope I'm not tempting fate) goes straight back to sleep after a night feed without any fuss which I'm really grateful for!

milkand2sugars · 30/03/2013 08:00

Hello ladies I was on the jan13 antenatal thread but never made it to the 1st post natal thread.
Amber will be 9 weeks tomorrow. She sleeps through most nights (9pm till 7am) but has no routine during the day. Some days she constantly wants to feed and sometimes she's just not bothered!
During the day she just sleeps whenever she wants sometimes for a few hours but other times no longer than 10 mins and I have no time to do anything.

She had her 1st lot of injections on Tuesday can't believe how quick time is going!

Hormonalhell · 30/03/2013 10:04

My little one sounds like yours Louise, he never fusses during the night even if he's wide awake because he's had a nappy change. He will happily just lay in his basket until he falls asleep and then his morning feed at 6 he goes straight back off too Grin it's bliss!

Thro day different story he sleeps when he feels like it and feeds the same way ??

AppleCrumples · 30/03/2013 10:31

Angie thanks tho tbh we were 'done' at 3...we call Ivy our bonus baby :)

Reading through thread and thinking my baby must be wierd as she seems to like tummy time. She pushes herself up and her legs go crazy, i'd almost swear she wants to get going!

Reading article in paper about the lady who had a 15lb7 baby. Hes massive! Makes me wince just thinking about it (she hae him naturally) Imagine trying to feee him. Ivy needs feeding all the time and she's only around 14lb (at 12 weeks)

Louise85 · 30/03/2013 19:06

I know Apple - crazy huge and ouch!!!

Hope you all having a lovely Easter weekend x

lollipoppi · 31/03/2013 08:43

Apple, I saw that too! Ouch ouch ouch!

DD has had a few really good nights sleeping from 7pm - 5am!
Poor DS1 has got an upset tummy and running for the toilet every 5mins - may have to postpone the Easter egg hunt until he is better.

Hope everyone has a lovely easter weekend x

Bunny222 · 31/03/2013 08:54

Happy Easter! Have got the cutest rabbit hat which will be trying to get LO to wear today, he he!
Angie the nine hours was a one off! Were back to 7 hours straight which I shouldnt complain at. Our routine is super simple, from 7pm a bit of quiet play, nappy change, warm bottle in a darkened room and he normally drops of between 8 and 8.15.

AppleCrumples · 31/03/2013 09:25

Every 2 hours! Every 2 fricking hours! she is 3 months tomorrow surely we should be sleeping a little longer?!

Hope everyone enjoying lots of chocolate. Dcs behavee terribky yesterday and were told if they carriee on then no eggs. Guess what they did?! So now told them if they can get to lunch time without incident then they can have them. Really don't want them to miss out but need them to behave

Rant over. As you were :)

Hormonalhell · 31/03/2013 21:09

I'm sure Charlie is teething n he only 11 weeks Shock

He's drooling, chewing his fist furiously and when I put my finger in he gums down on it

Anyone else's baby teething early??

Louise85 · 31/03/2013 21:21

Sorry Hormonal - didn't know they could teeth that early, although I'm sure Dd drooled for about 4/5 months before her first tooth :-)

Joined Weightwatchers - anyone else doing it? 1st April is my 1st Jan - starting the year again now that I'm starting to feel human after the birth Hmm

Lostbobbles · 31/03/2013 22:16

Happy Easter all

We are staying in a hotel tonight, visiting family. Currently trying to get DD2 to sleep longer than 5 mins in travel cot. Luckily her moaning has not woken DD1 yet. Feel bit bad making her sleep in it as she is coming down with a cold and coughHmm typical crap timingHmm

Apples I feel your pain, longest I have had in 11 weeks is 5 hours Hmm.

If sleep deprivation wasn't bad enough, I now have reflux to deal with. It's seems to be a laundry prob not medical (I.e not bothering her) but at least three projectile vomits a day at mo and always one in middle of the night, soaking her and the crib Hmm

PS I think I have eaten my own body weight in food today

Lostbobbles · 31/03/2013 22:17

Hormonal forgot to add DH cousin baby was born with teethShockShockShockShock

Hormonalhell · 31/03/2013 22:34

OMG really lost bobbles ??

AppleCrumples · 31/03/2013 22:54

Hormonal all mine have started teething at this point and i am pretty sure Ivy is too. She is drooling and chewing her fist a lot. Has also bit me twice (yes whilst feeding..that was the end of both those feeds)

Lost the constant laundry sucks dosen't it? Some days i feel like it is all i do. My ds1 always projectile vomited feeds which drove me nuts. I'm fairly sure it got better around 4/5 months

hope everyone had a good day. Made the dcs wait til after lunch for their eggs and they played nicely which was good. I did them a treasure hunt with mini chicks all round the house.

AppleCrumples · 31/03/2013 22:56

Forgot to mention though they all started teeething quite early ni teeth ever showed up til about 6 months

Meringue33 · 31/03/2013 23:45

Fist chewing means teething?? Uh-oh!!!

Louise I am definitely joining something. Weighed myself today and I am 13 stone - same weight as when pregnant!!!! I knew I still looked chubby and have been comfort eating to deal with stress if a newborn, not good. I am going to join Virgin Active, they have a crèche, and force myself to go to the park with pram every fine day.

Happy Easter all :-) We are currently chilling at my mum and dad's - it's great! X

Angielka · 01/04/2013 01:20

Hope you are all having a good Easter. We're at my parents' and DCs having a great time but Molly is either having a growth spurt or wonder week or developmental spurt or something please please let there be a reason because we seem to be constantly feeding during the day, or fussing, and the 4/5 hour night sleeps are turning into 3 hours... Shock my lovely calm smiley baby has turned into a cranky wailer and we're not having much of a relaxing break so far; I'm even more knackered now than when we arrived! Still, we're here all week and I intend to let the grandparents hold the baby while I nap as much as possible Grin

Happy Easter!

Meringue33 · 01/04/2013 01:42

I was wondering about growth spurt... LO slept from 8.30-11.30 then had his nightly bottle of formula... 200ml wasn't enough for him so he demanded a bf on top... Has not been to sleep since and is currently back on boob for round 2... Shock

Lora1982 · 01/04/2013 01:55

Well im sat here with achey boobs. Trying to pump some ot (measley 2ounces so far) we had his christening today so he must be tired because he hasnt woke up for his last feed. So it looks like il get about three hours sleep tonight because i stupidly stayed up waiting for him.

BuntyCollocks · 01/04/2013 02:41

Happy Easter all.

Dd has finally decided she likes water - hooray!

Also, have read fist chewing is developmental - they've discovered their hands so love a good chew. It's a precursor for everything being put in the mouth - that's how the little buggers darlings learn about the world.

On our 2nd wakening tonight. If I hadn't been so fecking lazy at the first I could have avoided it, prob, but the lure of seeing if she'd sleep on one boob was too much when this tired.

mrsbugsywugsy · 01/04/2013 04:39

dd is 14 weeks and still doesn't go more than 5 hours at night - which is from start of feed, so actually means four hours where I can sleep. at least she usually goes down again quickly.

she also does the drooling and fist chewing thing - is it teething or just what babies do?

she has been in a real grump today - hoping this is a growth spurt or something.

forgot to shut the bedroom door last night and woke up to find my furbaby cat curled up on my tummy.

happyhow · 01/04/2013 08:47

Bailey has always chewed his fists although the drooling has only started in the last couple of weeks. It's a mixture of developmental behaviour like Bunty said and also the beginning of teething but it could be another 2/3 months before they cut their first tooth.

Louise, I'm doing weight watchers online. Lost 2lbs this week! I'm the lightest I've been for quite a while and I intend to get lighter and keep it that way!

I've got 2 lots of coffee with friends today. That's if Bailey would like to stop feeding so that I can have breakfast and get ready...
