Congratulations Loopy - he sounds a dream!!

Well done to scream's A and nom nom to eggy bread biscuits!

Good family trip to a theme park this am (one with a certain bossy little pig... :) )

Dropped the 13.30pm feed today (offered her just formula in a beaker). To say she was angry would be an understatement... She didnt seem to notice until 15.00 when she went BALLISTIC. Had a massive amount of tea at 15.30 and then went to bed....

TooImmatureTurtleDoves · 09/09/2012 17:30

Poor Pomme, that sounds traumatic. Ooooh, wine. Is it worth opening a bottle of wine when I can only have one glass? Sad

M sat on her own! In a much longer stretch than she's done before (previous record 5 seconds), witnessed by both DH and I. She's a clever little sausage. Now, what can I feed her for dinner? Scrambled egg, maybe?

OP posts:
jaggythistle · 09/09/2012 17:44

why only one glass? Grin

good sitting M! R is still much too wobbly and also does the pushing to stand up thing.

is it a good theme park pomme?

PetWoman · 09/09/2012 19:30

Evening all! What a beautiful day it's been. :)

Have you seen a doctor Scream ? Really hope you've got a diagnosis and some treatment, and the pain is going already.

Wish I could see everyone's photos but I only MN on my phone. Anyone know if you can access them on an iPhone?

Hello Loopy ! Congratulations on the birth of A! He sounds gorgeous. How has DS1 responded to his baby brother?

Wants I'm afraid I can't answer either of your questions, but I hope you don't mind me asking why have you got a mattress in your kitchen?

Biscuits if you make eggy bread again, can I request a slice for everyone here?

I made a bramble and apple crumble (blackberries picked by DH) and some chocolate cookies yesterday.

In other news, I left DS at home when I went to church today as he was fast asleep. I left 4oz ebm in the fridge. When I got back DH said DS had cried so hard when the bottle was empty, he had to give him a bottle of formula. He drank a whole further 7oz! Shock (He has spent the rest of today puking merrily though.) I think I'll have to get him weighed tomorrow to see if one top-up bottle a night is enough, or if we need to add another one during the day.

Biscuitsandtea · 09/09/2012 19:35

pet to look at the photos I go through safari and open the main website (although it's a mobile version) and you can link through and click on a person's name to get into their profile. Hope that makes sense.

I'm also intrigued as to why there's a mattress in Wants's kitchen. I wonder which member of the family has been banished to sleep there Confused

DreamingOfPeace · 09/09/2012 19:58

Thanks for well wishes for DD everyone. She's had a lovely day- her favourite farm park this morning and a little party with 5 friends this afternoon. My friends mum made her cake and dropped it off on Friday in between packing up her family to go to a wedding in devon, leaving on Friday night!! She's amazing. DD has got some lovely presents and i feel quite emotional that my baby is two.

Boys have been quite good today, but Dh and I feel destroyed after last night. It was one of the worst since the boys' birth and I'm feeling quite low about the sleeping here. Think b has hit 4 month sleep regression a bit late, maybe as two weeks early? Dh has been off for a fortnight, and has said he's cancelling his fortnight he'd booked for next May, only wants a week now as its too relentless at home and not a holiday at all so I'm also sad he's almost happier in his stressful job but away from the constant, constant demands of 3 littlies. We were horriblev to each other in the night, each swore at each other and told each other we were like a fourth child. Ashamed. So, all that on top on DD being 2 today has me feeling a bit weepy. Oh, and i got stung by a wasp before on my neck and it hurts!!!

Still, could be worse, my boobs are ok. Have you seen ooh scream? Sounds terrible.

pet, the ferret feeder nighttime-toad of a baby S cries with solids too. I don't always know if its for more, or because he's full or what. Hmm. It'll pass, quickly I'm hoping sure. Hope his weight is good tomorrow.

Go E!! Good eating. Thick, but how do you make eggy bread?! Is it literally just eggs and bread in a pan?

pomme, nice try getting that past A Wink . Hopefully it'll be easier every day. Did she drink the beaker?

Huge congratulations loopy! He sounds delightful! sleeps miles better than my 5 month old So glad the birth was s positive experience Thanks . I was in horror at how sore I was on day 4 but stopped all but paracetamol by day 6 so brooking for a similar amazibg leap in pain for you.

Forgotten the rest
Oh- except gorgeous, gorgeous boys jaggy, and your Dh did really well with the garden.

DreamingOfPeace · 09/09/2012 19:59

I mean hope your ds weight is good pet, not mine. That post read badly...

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 09/09/2012 20:15

Congrats to Loopy!! Welcome welcome our latest little A. No brooking for a speedy recovery.

Huge hugs to Dream, what a stressful night Sad No brooking for equilibrium to be restored in the Dream household asap.

My DH was of the same opinion as you ladies, so I did go to the OOH GP this morning in the end. Even though I didn't have a fever, because the lump is so hot to touch the doc thought it was already infected and prescribed antib's. Then this afternoon I suddenly became really shaky, dizzy and sick. I'm just soooo grateful I went and got the meds earlier, because I feel absolutely rubbish now all over. I do feel like I've caught this infection right at the beginning though, so fingers crossed it'll pass soon. The lump is insanely painful still, in fact my whole left boob aches now. V grateful I already have the pills!

Currently at my parents' house curled up under a blanket on the sofa watching crap tv while my sis looks after little A and DH sorts the naming ceremony invites. Grin

Sorry will name check properly when I get home. Also can't see photos until then unfortunately!

jaggythistle · 09/09/2012 20:23

glad DD had a nice day dream.

DS2 has been really unsettled today. after a wee nap this morning he's not really sat and played much at all and cried a lot unless being cuddled or fed. ended up giving him some Calpol in case his teeth (well gums) are really bothering him. has almost conked out feeding on my knee.

a bit of an exhausting day today. is it really pathetic that i still have days when i can't get anywhere or get anything done even though DS2 is nearly 5 months old? we just seemed to go from nappy to sick to toilet all day and i felt completely useless.

trying for a super early night tonight.

jaggythistle · 09/09/2012 20:27

glad you got seen ok scream, fingers crossed the antibiotics work quickly.

Wantsnomore · 09/09/2012 21:27

Ok,ok- I have a mattress in my kitchen because we are having to store the contents of ds1s bedroom all over the house while the building work is carried out! The bed frame is in pieces under the table and we moved the bench to stand the mattress along the wall! The bench is now in the hallway. I have a changing unit, desk and numerous boxes in the living room!I feel like the woman in "A squash and a squeeze":)

Biscuitsandtea · 09/09/2012 21:37

Scream glad you have the ABs - hope they kick in quickly. Did the docs say what it was? Mastitis? Whatever it is I hope it is gone quick smart. Also hoping you and DH are doing ok Thanks Did you manage to squeeze in a counselling sesh before your hols?

Jaggy I have days like that all the time! Today in fact. The only time I got anything done was if I stuck DS1 in front of the tv or let him go on the computer. And that's with ds1 being nearly 4 and not in the middle of potty training!

Dream to do eggy bread I just beat up an egg, and some milk sometimes if I need it to go a bit further, then soak the bread in the egg mix on both sides and fry it. Normally I cut the bread into triangles first but I tried cooking it in whole slices today and it was all a bit hard to hand and get falling apart so my top tip is to cut it and then cook it rather than vice versa

Biscuitsandtea · 09/09/2012 21:40

So where does ds1 sleep Wants? In the kitchen with the mattress or under the table with the bed frame? Grin

jaggythistle · 09/09/2012 21:52

thanks biscuits. It's not quite as easy as it was to stick DS1 in front of Cbeeies when I'm watching for wee! only accidents today were wee bits in his pants where he managed to save most of it to the toilet. for the last one he even said "daddy i need a pee pee my pants are wet!" so he seems to get what's going on. i am dreading the first poo accident...

in bed and DS2 asleep in cot. night night all :)

scarletfingernail · 09/09/2012 21:56

Wants I have to say I am so impressed that you've not complained or moaned on here once during your building works. I understand completely what a mess you must be living in as we went through it while I was pg with DD and I moaned and grumped about it on here daily.

Dream aww your baby girl is 2. So pleased to hear she's had a lovely day. I found the progression from 2-3 (with DS) unbelievable. This time next year she'll be have full on conversations with you Smile. Sorry to hear you and DH been arguing and he's decided to re-think his holiday plans. I'm brooking for massive sleep improvements for all of you between now and then and he will end up having his 2 weeks off after all.

Scream Ouchy ouchy. Relieved to hear you went to OOH GP. You could do with getting the anti-b's finished before you go California wine sampling.

Jaggy love the pic of the fangs. Your boys are just gorgeous.

Cute picture of the cat Jen thanks for adding me.

Busy, busy weekend here. We went to our nearest John Lewis store yesterday to collect one particular thing and ended up spending nearly the whole day in there! How is it though that DH came home with a new laptop, DS and DD came home with new winter hats and I came home with FA? I'm planning to go back without DH and DS one day soon and I will treat myself. 3ish weeks until my birthday so I reckon I deserve something nice.

Swimming and shoe shopping for DS today. £60 spent in Clarks within 5 minutes Sad We've kept every single pair of shoes that DS has had (all Clarks). Some of the earlier ones are in mint condition. DH reckons it's not cruel to make DD where them. I draw the line at girls wearing boys shoes. My DSIS has already told me off for DD using DS's old sleepsacs which are blue with cars on Hmm DSIS is the youngest so she has a bit of a problem with hand me downs anyway.

scarletfingernail · 09/09/2012 22:28

Oh! Blush Of course. Huge congratulations Loopy So pleased it's all going well and lovely to see you over here. Love the name Alexander.

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 09/09/2012 23:39

Finally home!

Jaggy your boys are just delicious! Soooooooo cute! Loving the new garden as well.

Thanks for your kind words everyone. Scarlet luckily it's a one week course of ABs, so should finish before we fly out Grin This lump is just so very very ma-hoo-sive I'm tempted to post a picture to gross you all out! (Don't worry, I won't!) It's just ridiculously large, even the doc commented on it. It literally looks like a second nipple. Can't wait to stop being a pained freak :(

Biscuits yup it is mastitis - same infection as a blocked milk duct even though it's in a slightly different location. I'm desperately hoping the blockage will clear on it's own soon, because of course the ABs won't solve the underlying issue and even feeding DD has no effect when it's not a milk duct causing the problem :(

Anyhow, got to get DD to sleep! Night night ladies!

Wantsnomore · 10/09/2012 08:19

biscuits ds1 sleeps in the loft!:)

scarletfingernail · 10/09/2012 08:36

Wow embarrassing grammar and spelling mistakes in last night's post. I did go to school, honest!

Wantsnomore · 10/09/2012 08:57

...... Not amongst dusty boxes and spiders! The loft was converted into a 'hobby room' a few years ago! There is a drum kit, ds1s guitars,a tv and a sofa bed bed up there!
scarlet we have been really lucky with our builder and the disruption has been kept to a minimum! It is so close to finishing now!

NinjaChipmunk · 10/09/2012 10:06

Aloha! Sorry for my massive and prolonged absence recently. RL got in the way of my MNing (boo hiss).
I have read up on quite a bit of the thread but since its been well over a week since I last posted I haven't managed to read everything.
scream glad you got the anti-b's and hope you feel much better soon. When is the naming ceremony?
dream happy 2nd birthday to your dd! But very sorry to hear your dh is being a complete arse about things. ((hugs)) to you and a Brew too.
rubber I couldn't see your cat but I could see your dd. Can I be your mate too? Grin
Huge congrats to loopy on not so little alexanders arrival. It sounds like much more relaxed birth this time around, wishing you a speedy recovery.
Big high fives to all littlies who are doing their poos and wees on the potty and toilet. We have the tommee tippee toilet seat which cost about a fiver and a v cheap step from ikea and they were ace. Never bothered with a potty as I am too lazy to clean the poo and wee up.
Please do fill me in on any gossip I may have missed. On the subject of bras, I usually wear an unwired sports bra. Supportive and oh so comfy. I must go bra shopping though as all my old ones are just that - very old and looking a bit sorry for themselves.
There is a pic of dd on my profile for anyone interested. Off to get her weighed this morning. Right must sterilise her bottles before we go so they are ready for the mid morning feed. Oh and twice in the last 3 nights she has slept till 6am! She has a last bottle about 7.30, falls asleep an hour or two later and thats it. Long may it continue (although I highly doubt it).

NinjaChipmunk · 10/09/2012 10:07

Oh and ds is now a fully fledged YR schoolboy. Sob!

jaggythistle · 10/09/2012 10:19

aw hope DS is enjoying school ninja!

DD is v cute. :)

a huge poo in the toilet today, woo! we are going to start tackling weeing 'like daddy' now, to make getting out a bit easier.
any not getting wee all over everything tips brookers? Grin

jaggythistle · 10/09/2012 10:39

just spotted DH away to take DS1 outside to play and reminded him that it was a good idea to go for a wee first. We have now achieved our first standing up wee. It's thrill a minute this parenting business eh.... Wink

NinjaChipmunk · 10/09/2012 10:54

my best tip for getting ds to wee like daddy is to get get daddy to teach him Grin. Is he standing on a step to pee? That initially helped ds, I have also read that a ping pong ball in the loo for them to aim at helps too although its not one we tried....
