yeah but we discuss politics stuff all the time, getting a 'politics' section just makes it feel more forced iykwim

I don't come on here to be either cheered up or depressed. I come to chat about a range of topics, some light and some more meaty. Actually I'm rather glad we have an area where we can discuss something as important as politics - we are allowed to have an opinion on it after all

It's not as depressing as "Bereavement".

Or "Pramaholics".

I love the politics section. Just ignore it if you don't like it.

OP I disagree. Yes it all got quite heated in the run up to, during, and after the election, but it has been good fun.
Better to have it largely confined to one section so that people who really aren't interested can stay away. Although a few rogue threads did turn up in AIBU

I loved the politics section. It showed me I was not the only sad muppet who enjoyed the whole debacle.
