We should have a special MN coalition thread where as a sticky on the politics section where Lefties and Righties can bury the hatchet and commiserate.

As a Tory I am happy about the Lib-Con coalition and its intent on tackling the deficit and restoring civil liberties but unhappy about the fact that its leadership appears to have gone AWOL and joined the Green Party. I need to cry into my beer with someone who feels just as miserable.

OK grammar aside, I tend to agree. It sort of clashes with the In the News section - there's too much crossover. Could we have the politics/ in the news section conflated?

Can this thread be deleted and reposted with "have had" so only people interested in the thread open it. It will otherwise get bumped up with people/pedantslike me who shuddered at the title. Thank you.

Nope its not working ... and now they have announced the public debt is all do much worse than we thought but we stil want to build windmills to generate green electricity at 5 x the cost of normal electricty.

Its absolutely essential the UK builds renewables. To think otherwise is just madness. Sadly this debate should have been had about 30 years ago. Instead of spending £17bn (up front costs, will be a lot more imo) on Iraq and Afghanistan we could have dramatically reduced energy costs in the long term in this country...

Well I went to the pedants section and didn't see a single necklace I liked
