Heres what a hung Parliament will do

WE have been there before, with both Wilson and Heath.

No one can rule with a minority government. Its an abortion. Nothing radical, nothing decisive can get passed into law. Nothing gets decided, no real advancement can be made, everything is fudge and a compromise.

IF we get a hung parliament, Labour will retain power (as the incumbent governments right to), completely unable to do anything decisive about the economy, and eventually, after being defeated in multiple votes government will collapse with a year, and another election will ensue. You only need a major bill such as the Finance Bill to get destroyed by the opposition, and thats thats.

Meanwhile, the militant left wing unions (UNITE and GMB) will set about ejecting Labours Blairites and Brownites from the party , (as they have promised they can and will), and whilst labour struggles along in the minority in westminster, civil war will rip the party apart as the unions seize control and force the party back to socialist far left. Policy making and decision making will cease within the government

Meanwhile, the worlds financial markets will see the political chaos, pull the plug on our credit rating and that will be it, game set an match. The economy will collapse, and the World Bank will be forced to step in, as it did with the Wilson Government. We will then be a prime target for the EU vultures to take further control of us.

THis is not speculation, this is based on previous times in our history when we have been in this position. We are the 5th largest economy because we always have had majority governments. If you want examples of what happens to countries with minority rules, look at places like Italy, Argentina, Brazil. 3rd rate counties because they cant be ruled decisively.

No one is asking for facts though

Alouiseg · 20/04/2010 19:08

"If Dp ever answers a question seriously explaining her views backed with facts/reasonable argument I will eat my hat"

You did noddyholder

Fliight · 20/04/2010 19:14

No, she didn't, she just said DP never offered them. That's not quite the same as demanding them.

Alouiseg · 20/04/2010 19:21

She is undermining Dp's views by pointing out that she never backs them with facts. I pointed out that hardly anyone does as a matter of course. NH then said nobody was asking for them, after she had drawn attention to them.

You can't have it both ways fliight.

Fliight · 20/04/2010 19:26

I think I'll let you two fight it out between you. I'm totally confused now. First someone posts a foot long rant about me being an amoral labour voter, I dunno, this thread is hard to follow.

Alouiseg · 20/04/2010 19:27

Who's fighting?

ahundredtimes · 20/04/2010 19:28

I think you're being a little literal here alouiseq

In the context of what was being debated, I would look over the / at the bit about reasonable argument. No? If the context were different then perhaps lurking on the left side of the / around the word 'fact' might be more appropriate.

However in the context of Heathen's question - which wasn't really asking for facts but further elaboration on how DP hopes to organize life in such a way that nobody tells her children that it's okay to be gay.

Seems that DP offers her opinions and some people disagree with them.

When invited to expand on her opinion or how she might put it into practice - as in this instance, re Heathen's question - DP doesn't.

It appears that Noddy has oft noticed this to be the case.

Picking up on the word 'fact' and running with it is removing it entirely from an exchange which was asking for elaboration, not facts.

God, this really is exhausting

QED.

OP posts:

So why did you pick on me, then, Lincs? There are loads of lab voters on the thread.
Didn't you realise I'm not one of them? I said it several times further down the page.

Fliight · 20/04/2010 19:38

By the way, I'm sorry that I was rude to you.

I hope you can understand that it is your views as expressed on here that I find very difficult to accept, and didn't intend to insult you as a person.

"morality comes from the top down in society"

spoken like a proper subservient fascist. subservient to the state their betters. unable to take responsibility for their own lives, always asking for handouts from their betters. servile, frightened, insecure and weak. "

Bullshit.

The leaders of a society lead by example, or should do.

When you were in school, you had to follow the moral and ethical codes set by the staff, by your parents ,your employers and the people in authority, it didnt work the other way round. Similarly, if the people who run the country are lazy corrupt and dishonest, the people follow the example. Children learn from there parents, not vice versa. Adults follow there heros and role models and leaders, morally. This is so clearly evident I presume your post is a straw man argument.......

actually I always thought parents learnt an awful lot from there children too...

EggyAllenPoe · 20/04/2010 19:51

morality comes from the top down in society"

and from everywhere..it's just not as simple as that. though it is easier to be moral whilst ones basic needs are being met, and not under threat of torture - the person that does the right thing in a just country is probably not having to risk as much to be moral as someone in a one-party dictatorship.

It is interestinto note, that at that time most vaunted for its high moral values, the Victorian times, 1/10 houses in London was a brothel..an unjust society even with strong moral champions does not produce morality.

You can do, But you dont generally learn morals an ethics from them. By the time you have kids, you've already learned your set of moral codes.

Why do you think we have so many chavs? because so many young people look up to Posh and Becks, and Jade Goody, and Paris Hilton, and Lily Allen, and Jordan, they are all the essential chavs, and set the chav's example. Chavs learn chav morality. They dont learn any better morality because they dont admire anyone with proper morals - apart from the fact almost anyone in power hasnt got any these days. Morality is also learned from TV, but thats another thread........

arghhhhhh

linctash you think that the english are a RACE

you are nuts!

you profess to only want clean upright upstanding honest MPs. you admit that libdems probably fit the bill the best. but you don't support them.

there is something in your view of women seeking to emulate the worst of men...i agree, but then the oppressed tend to do that!

the english as a race thing is where you just completely unravel as a coherent poster though!

Fliight · 20/04/2010 19:59

Ok so I'm evidently too immoral to accept an apology from.

Well, at least I tried. I'm going to bed, goodnight.

DroosieCat · 20/04/2010 20:05

Totally agree with too many people looking up to Katie Price but Posh and Becks when I have seen them interviewed (and not "quoted" in the Press) come across as very nice people - far from "chavvy". In fact a friend of mine has a severely disabled child who benefited from a specialized bed donated by the Beckhams. There was no Press and I am only aware as she told me where the bed had come from. She was so utterly grateful as her child now sleeps comfortably as a result. So to dismiss them as "chavs" is not very nice.

lincstash · 20/04/2010 20:05

Its a debating board, Fliight, nothing here matters in the grand plan of all things so no apology is necessary. I dont take internet debate seriously, neither should you. Its just a big video game...........

"I have not got MH issues"

"I don't really know what's happening around here"

Yeah, the two are connected fash-girl.

"DP has some reasonably controversial (for mn) views but in no capacity does that make her wrong."

God you fascists whine on, pathetic malcontents, being left behind by the rest of the world.

Trouble is, the problems in your lives aren't about gays - and why do you obsess over homosexuality you weirdos, does it get you off - or immigration, they are about you.

You blew it. Take responsibility for your failure.

Coolfonz · 20/04/2010 20:11

"Adults follow there heros"

You are both a servile moron and an illiterate fascist halfwit. It's not a strong look.

daftpunk · 20/04/2010 20:12

Really aitch...when was that then...?

Can you link me the thread or post where I admitted I was trolling..

You have had it in for me ever since I turned up on you "career women make bad mothers thread"....

Get a life...

Fliight · 20/04/2010 20:14

I take it seriously enough to apologise if I am out of order.
I think that's important but if you don't, well, whatever. I did it partly for my own sense of morality.

You are beginning to sound very much LIKE daftpunk, if I'm honest.

Well coolfonz falls about at moronic name, your a brainless cretin bigot with no morality and even less intelligence. You resort to insult when your arguments run out, which take about 30 seconds, and even then you dont even manage to excel at insulting either.

The only thing you've shone at so far is internet fail..........
