As for how much, no idea. My guess would it would cost the same as it does any day of the week for any PM. At most a bit more overtime being paid out to the Police who normally do it.

I doubt the UK government recruited a new protection squad of ex SAS so the PM could go for a run. The usual drain checks and seals etc would have been done anyway.

Does it matter? I don't think it's his first GNR and I'm boggled that anyone could criticise someone running for charity. It's weird.

Yes of all the criticisms that can be levelled at PMs, modelling being healthy and active and raising money for charity seems an odd one to fixate on.

Andy Burnham has been an active runner and race participant for a long time. Loads of public figures do races.
