As an American I would like to personally apologize for this. On the flip side, I have been telling Christians to leave the church for a LONG time; because Christian Nationalism has relabeled the faith. This guy, is definitely out of timeouts.

I think he is mad, I actually find him chilling, more of a bogeyman than Putin at this point. He is an old man, a mere mortal, who knows he is running out of time. He can’t gaslight Father Time. Megalomaniacs like Trump and Putin can’t stand the thought of the world carrying on without them in it. He is as thick as mince, childish, loud and crass. He is the anti Barack Obama in every way. He is the anti statesman. I would liken him to a Hitler figure at this point, he is straying into that territory, placing himself at the centre of the world. As much as I think the UK has been ill served by the calibre of its political leaders of every political hue in the last few decades, we have not sunk this far.

If he claims it shows him as a doctor, why isn't he administrating bleach?

I honestly couldnt care less about the image, or what he said about the Pope. But it does show Trumps stupidity, because plenty of people he counts on and support him care about that kind of thing.

Quite right. Jesus’s teachings were the absolute antithesis of what Trump stands for. I think Jesus would have had very strong words to say about him.

It will be interesting to see if there’s a backlash from the MAGA brigade. 60 years ago The Beatles were almost banned from the USA after John Lennon described them as “more popular than Jesus” among young people. It caused a huge furore at the time.

Don’t know about anyone else but I’m never surprised about his rants online or his claims to be some kind of supreme being. His rhetoric is all about shocking people with big and bold statements.

It’s a huge concern this man and others like him have access to nuclear codes.

I completely disagree, I've met people in their 80s and 90s who are far more cognisance than others much younger.

I do agree that all people in such positions should have an annual assessment of their physical and mental well-being by truly independent clinicians, not someone paid by the testee.

I think committing him to a psychiatric ward would be extremely unkind to the other people in it, who presumably have their own troubles and really don't need him added to them.

A nice private en suite room somewhere, with the lock on the outside of the door, would be better.
