Karoline Leavitt am I wrong to love her bluntness 😆?

I don’t really know much about her (going on an evening google hunt) but listening to her speech earlier and how she handled the press I really like her confidence/bluntness to some of the questions answered.

No flip flopping with her answers like our UK politicians.

What’s everyone’s thoughts on her? Is she well liked?

She's the mouthpiece for a man so blatantly careless with the truth that it's embarrassing. She has no sense of honour or integrity and is part of the toxic rot in US politics.

I think she's awful, any decent person would not be comfortable being a spokesperson for such an awful, greedy and unkind pig of a man....standing with Russia and South Korea against the entire free world. Just awful the lot of them.

She's an excellent communicator, exciting to watch, she seems so clever.

I did find it impressive how she kept a straight face when saying that the power to decide which journalists were able to "ask questions of the president" by being in the White House press pool would be given "back to the people" by now being decided "by the White House press team". I'm sure that generally when people hear about a power returning to the people, the president's own press team is exactly what they picture.

What do you mean? She said, when asked about the administrator of DOGE, that Musk wasn't the administrator, and that she would not reveal the name of the administrator, but that they've "been incredibly transparent about the way that DOGE is run". The question came about because a lawyer for the Trump administration was asked in court who the DOGE administrator was, and didn't know.

The administrator of DOGE has now been revealed, but by someone who told a reporter on condition of anonymity. But maybe Leavitt doesn't know what transparent means.

@JoyousEagle i listened on the radio so didn’t see it, I think that was part of the interest as I didn’t know what she looked like but imagined she was young (which she clearly is)

im not saying I agree with Trump et al - but I liked her bluntness of reply, if she wasn’t going to answer the question she said I’m not going to answer that rather than pretending to then not which is what I find our UK politicians do. When questioned on his actions she simply replied that was in his pledge so why are you surprised.

At least Zelenskyy had a free press conference welcoming right wing American media ask him critical questions.Trump and Leavitt are banning critical media from his conferences. There’s more free press in Kyiv than DC.

Very many years ago, when I was young, there used to be a comedy on the wireless called 'The Navy Lark'. One very foggy day the ship set out from somewhere like Portsmouth with Mr. Phillips in charge, probably going to somewhere like Cornwall. 'Right hand down a bit'. 'Right hand down a bit it is, Sir!' After rather a long time the fog cleared a bit and Mr. Phillips asked Chief Petty Officer Pertwee if he could see anything in the mist. CPO said he could see something that looked like a bint with a dud torch in her hand. Yes, he was talking about the Statue of Liberty and it was very funny because they'd got lost and fetched up in the USA.
Since then I have known an American whose parents went to the USA in the 1920s and he set great store by the Statue of Liberty and it's message. I take that absolutely seriously but I can't erase from my mind Mr. Pertwee's words when he first got sight of the Statue.
Thank you for the reminder of the word. I don't suppose it is considered as acceptable nowadays but there we are.

Smugly and rudely refers to critics of policies as 'low level' politicians or 'low level' judges/lawyers etc. Rarely checks the real facts and spouts the Republican agenda. Usually fact-checked by genuine reporters, thankfully, but not often live. A despicable human being.

Poison Barbie is no more a Christian than I am a sausage. Republican Christians would really have hated Jesus, I find their avowed Christianity so strange and patently false. No actual believer could act as they do because they would (rightly) fear for their souls, if they believe in a God who cannot be mocked. They just think it adds respectability to their sexual violence and abuse of the sick and poor. America as a whole has lost its soul.

To be honest, I am shocked that there is anybody who doesn’t know who she is. Or who thinks her adherence to the party line is anything but terrifying.
However, she is an excellent communicator and maintains an admirable calm.
