Puerile, personally.

Still nothing of substance from Starmer

OneBadKitty · 04/06/2024 22:02

The whole thing was just tiresome and dull. Neither had anything of substance to say and the format of 45 seconds per question was ridiculous.

Houseplanter · 04/06/2024 22:04

Load of bluster. Have seen better on primary playgrounds

Tell us HOW you're going to do things.

Joob · 04/06/2024 22:04

Very poor. They were both weak. I thought the format didn’t help- they should have been given much longer to speak uninterrupted rather than so long just barracking.

None the wiser.

I think Rishi won that one

wotsitallfor · 04/06/2024 22:11

Dreadful format, they hardly had a chance to talk. Heard more of the presenter.

Rishi interrupted the most if that’s the winning criteria !

No he was embarrassing, the audience laughed at him a couple of times.

I agree. I so wanted Starmer to wipe the floor with him, but he just didn’t. He had so many opportunities to say how he’d do things, but said a lot of nothing.

What? "Don't mention the past" Rishi? They've been in power for 14 years and destroyed our country and he thinks we should forget that and look to the future. He's a disgrace. If he tried saying that on a board of directors, that they shouldn't look at the complete fuck up they've made, but should look to the future, he'd be thrown out.

Edited

I think they both were rude and interrupted each other. The presenter seemed to tell Rishi off more for it though, not that I minded.

Nope.

Houseplanter · 04/06/2024 22:15

I actually found Starmers hair gel more fascinating than the debate.

MissyB1 · 04/06/2024 22:15

And Rishi kept on about Labour raising taxes repeatedly. Reminded me of Boris just shouting "oven ready" over and over.

Cantgetausername87 · 04/06/2024 22:16

RS made a complete idiot of himself - the audience laughed at him twice- once about the NHS waiting list and again with national service. I'm not saying that KS shone brightly though!

kitsuneghost · 04/06/2024 22:17

Looks like rishi won that one.
Starmer said nothing

🤣

Though we know that Rishi’s is waterproof.

I think Farage won that one

Catlover1705 · 04/06/2024 22:17

I was hoping to hear some good ideas from Sir Keir but heard nothing.

They both have a strong hair game for men of their age. 🤣

vincettenoir · 04/06/2024 22:18

I was disappointed by Starmer not answering questions directly and Rishi did a good job of pointing that out. Although he came across as belligerent and the audience were literally laughing at his desperate new policy ideas. It was a bad format. I expect the BBC to be a bit of a better set up and I expect they will both perform a little better.

Peakypolly · 04/06/2024 22:18

"We're doomed" (in a Scottish accent)

Onand · 04/06/2024 22:23

Madness that one of these two absolutely pathetic excuses of men are going to be leading the country, are they really the best we have to offer? How the fuck did the UK end up in such a mess? Are the electorate just plain stupid? It beggars belief. We are regressing at such a rapid rate, depressing doesn’t even scratch the surface.

Yeah, shame. A missed opportunity. Let’s see what the next debate brings.
