Fed up of the ConDems robbing the poorest and most vulnerable blind? Sympathetic to the squeezed middle? Have you eyes that can see the horrors that await the dismantling of our welfare state and all that is great and good in UK?

Then you're a frother. This is our safe-space to rally, vent and get organised. You are also welcome if you want to be better informed and/or do something.

#Frothers don't join - #frothers ARE. Check out the blog for information and actions you can take, like us on www.facebook.com/frothers Facebook for bite-sized chunks of frothiness you can read, like and share, or get ye to Twitter and tweet your frustrations using the #frothers hashtag or follow us @TMC_frothers.

Right. Back from school run and feeling a bit better.

That was strange though. Maybe connected to my sore shoulder and back (from coughing I think).

Have retired to the couch wiht a Lemsip and have called off my LNO with friends.

Hully

(whooops, almost wrote Huffy there, freudian slip perhaps?)

Where is your pome? Did I miss it?

TeWiharaMeriKirihimete · 15/12/2011 16:06

Hello sorry I was relativing and DD had her first nativity today (simple pleasures help when the froth takes over I feel!)

Really glad to hear DS seems well Kate.

I like Jack's newspaper thingy being called Frothers!

And finally... what happened at HoL yesterday? I got totally lost and muddled.

HedleyLamarr · 15/12/2011 16:44

Hi TeWi, the gubment lost the "spare room" vote. Good.

Hully, am I too late for your pome? Smile

TeWiharaMeriKirihimete · 15/12/2011 16:45

Oh good - that is one thing at least then!

HedleyLamarr · 15/12/2011 17:12

It's a start at least. One Tory lord voted against. Lord Newton (I think).

MmeLindor. · 15/12/2011 17:20

For those working out the disabled benefit cuts

Fact check have checked Cameron's claims at PM QT.

MmeLindor. · 15/12/2011 17:21

Has anyone see a full list of those who voted against? Can we email / tweet them?

AvadventKalendar · 15/12/2011 17:23

The only one I have seen named is Lord Newton.

RatherBeOnTheMulledWine · 15/12/2011 17:34

lubeybaublely · 15/12/2011 17:34

So where the frig exactly have the government found £450m for this twatty idea then?

How utterly ridiculous.

Good idea in theory, if they could make it not so patronising, and implement it by funding social services/surestart more... but as it is, it's just a plain insult, waste of vital cash from other areas and will help no one (imho)

SantaIsAnAnagramOfSatan · 15/12/2011 17:48

they will have incentives to get people working? great. cash bonus's for people who force fucked up individuals with problems coming out of their ears into a job that they'll last ten minutes in due to the continuing problems they face.

just give SS the money ffs - they are massively underfunded and you wanna bring in some fucking salesmen with targets to pretend to do their job? grrr

MmeLindor. · 15/12/2011 17:52

Eric Avebury on Twitter

Veronica Linklater is patron of Epilepsy charity

Not many of them on Twitter that I can find

OpinionatedMum · 15/12/2011 17:54

"So where the frig exactly have the government found £450m for this twatty idea then?"

Clearly the are funding this gimmick with the cuts to housing and disability benefits.

I agree, the should fund mental health and social services better if they are really interested in helping.

Hullygully · 15/12/2011 18:08

Fabbo blog post, MmeL

MmeLindor. · 15/12/2011 18:10

Thanks Hully. Whar's yir poim then?

The troubleshooter plan is ridiculous. Cameron lived in Cloud Cuckoo Land, doesn't he?

AnyFuckerForAMincePie · 15/12/2011 18:26

Hi All

Been at work, so sorry for being AWOL today

I think it's great that I'malrightjack has used the Frother word for his daily news

I luuurve him (or her). I shall twitter thaks, forthwith.

Great new blog posts Could someone explain to me what hashtags are I can use twitter but only for straightforward comments. I messed up lastime i tried to do a link, and when people say "use" a hashtag, what does that mean ?

AnyFuckerForAMincePie · 15/12/2011 18:27

OMG, what happened to my sentence construction there ? I am distracted by moaning children.

AnyFuckerForAMincePie · 15/12/2011 18:28

We should simply hug all the problem families

oh ....

TeWiharaMeriKirihimete · 15/12/2011 18:56

The two posts today were both really great, DP an dI had a big chat about yours MmeL, interesting how it's okay to bunch all benefit claimants together in discussion but not all the 1%?

Hullygully · 15/12/2011 18:57

Apparently the troubleshooting thing does work (one keyworker rather than 28 agencies acting independently), but the er, money is a bit of a prob (today's grauniad, maybe yesterday's).

Pome is with Shirl, MmeL, tis just a small thing.

TeWiharaMeriKirihimete · 15/12/2011 19:01

I understand having one keyworker. But why wouldn't that be a social worker?

It's odd.

garlicnutcracker · 15/12/2011 19:03

AF, hashtags are just - er, tags. When you put #frothers in your tweet, it's recognised as being about us. Amongst other things, that makes your tweet show up on the blog.

Twitter keeps track of what hashtags are used often so, if we're really really prolific with our #frothers, it'll show up as 'trending' and people will want to what it's about :)

AnyFuckerForAMincePie · 15/12/2011 19:10

Garlic, if I put #frothers in every tweet then, it will help to get it noticed ?

or is it #TMC_Frothers ?

I have forgotten, sorry

TeWiharaMeriKirihimete · 15/12/2011 19:12

There is some big tech problem and lots of people can't read anything on MN. As an explanation if everything gets very quiet tonight!
