Helloooo - flying by late at night to send greetings to all my old friends on this thread. I feel awful about having disappeared so suddenly after five years or so of daily contact on MN - though I do lurk occasionally, to see how you all are.

Mary, I can't believe that your dd is struggling for friends at school. She's a superstar! If you can tactfully send her a huge hug from Oxford, say that we were just talking about her/remembering her visit to us, and what fun it had been, today.

Still hoping that I might get back to this thread more often, but it isn't looking likely yet, I'm afraid. However, I did offer yesterday to lead a session as part of our Exploring Prayer series at our Church - once a month - on praying via the internet!! So if you are all around on the second Sunday in February 2011 (first second Sunday I have free!!!) then we may borrow a classroom at the school next to the church and all log in to say hello!!!

CaptainDippy · 08/05/2010 09:20

You are all fantastic at praying, you know. My work situation with one charity may have a solution. Monday will find out what it is. Keep praying, please...

Prayers aplenty for each of the posts above as I read through your words.

DutchOma · 08/05/2010 11:48

It's not us that's fantastic at praying, Amber dear, but God, who knows our needs before we ask in answering them.
Will keep praying though.

May I add a request for my friend Kathy, who is staying with her parents at the moment. She is not well herself, her mother has just had a pacemaker fitted, her father is a bit awkward (just a bit) and she has just heard that her newborn grandson is in Great Ormond Street hospital with an underdeveloped heart valve.

CaptainDippy · 08/05/2010 19:29

Prayers for that family DO. xx

Oh, how horrible CD! Praying.

DS2 definitely seems to be wheezing less with the inhaler, and coughing less too. Now just need him to remember how to sleep again.

DutchOma · 09/05/2010 21:17

That's just so horrible Dippy. You must all be so upset. Was it arson or something else? I can't find any news about it.

ZipadiSoozi · 09/05/2010 23:10

CD - How awful, hope there was nobody hurt!

Had a lovely day, dc on 'Water Spheres'(balls) and all of us on pedloes, although ds1 and dh struggled to steer, had to steer opposite way to boats travel, so we were going in circles, I had to take over the steering, spose was a laugh!

DutchOma · 10/05/2010 15:30

Oh Dippy, that's just awful.
Praying that some good will come out of this mess, God is good at that.

MrsCadwallader · 10/05/2010 16:42

Dippy - that's dreadful!

Prayers for all. Still reading and praying, but very busy!

DutchOma · 10/05/2010 17:51

Just an update on Kathy's grandson, five days old, his name is Morgan.
He is at the moment in Great Ormond Street Hospital where they attempted to insert a balloon to help with his heart problems.

Unfortunately this was unsuccessful and he faces surgery tomorrow.

amberlight · 10/05/2010 19:00

Meeting survived! It went really well. I think they want to help rather than cancel the project. Oh my, I'm tired...but so relieved. Thank you everyone.

Prayers aplenty continuing for each message.

Hermya321 · 10/05/2010 21:37

Hello praying for you all!!

I'm waiting on the results of my Quad test, I'm praying it'll be be good news.

I've got a bit of a prayer request for a friend of mine, they were involved in an accident. It's being looked at as to if they're going to be prosecuted for it. I'm really praying that they won't be, they don't know God but am praying for a positive result on this one for them. As if they do go to court over it, it'll have such bad consequences for them in regards to jobs and future prospects.

CaptainDippy · 10/05/2010 21:58

Well Done amber, glad it is over

Prayers for your friends little boy DO, do keep us updated. Praying surgery is successful. xx

PositiveAttitude · 11/05/2010 06:58

Captain has a new venue been found? God can certainly use these situations to give a whole new start and a bigger and better future. A local church was burnt to the foundations a couple of years ago. It is now a lovely thriving community centre/church/cafe and they incorporate so much for the community that the church has grown and brought many new people to Christ. After the fire, when everything was looking bleak they were unsure whether there would ever be a church there again one lady was given a vision of a beautiful flowering bush growing out of the ashes. God has been good and has fulfilled this prophecy. Prayers that similar happens in your area.

Glad things are going well for you amber.

Prayers for your friends little boys surgery. DO.

I am excited here today as I FINALLY move into my new church office! By this time next week I am hoping that I will be all straight and stress-less!!!

We have had some very positive reactions to DH leaving his job. Strangly it seems to be a real witness that he has done this and that we are trusting God for our future. I never thought that people would see it like that. I thought everyone would think we were mad!

MaryBS · 11/05/2010 08:46

So much to pray for... have read and prayed...

Am feeling pretty rough - last night I had a high temp and was achy/shivery - the kids felt like that for the whole of last week. Am supposed to be taking a church service tomorrow (prob. have to cancel) and preparing something to be used for a service on Thurs evening (can do that at home, even if I can't make the service). Am also supposed to be taking a service on Sun, and preaching twice! I don't have TIME to be ill! Oh well, if God wills it, I guess he can make me better, if not I'll crawl into a corner and whimper quietly .

DutchOma · 11/05/2010 08:48

PA Foolishness to men, but wisdom to God. I'm so glad though that people around you are seeing it that way too, being considered 'mad' by your friends is very hard.
No news about little Morgan, keep praying.
