Dear God, if you exist and I think you do, please help my friend tonight

This is diffucult and not something i would ever have seen myself doing, but please can anyone who reads this say a prayer for my friend who is tonight fighting for her life in hospital.
She was admitted 5 days ago with what seemed like a bad flu virus and her condition has worsened and she is not responding to any treatments. Her family are gathered tonight at the hospital.
She is in her late 30s, she and her DH have two DC. We grew up together and i just can't believe this is happening. My mum is with her mum as she cannot face the situation at the hospital. 10 days ago we were all at a Christmas party for all our the children, why is this happening?
I am clutching at straws here I know, but perhaps the power of collective prayer will prevail.

Oh Weeteeny, an awful awful thing.
Keep hoping maybe the antibiotics will kick in and pull her round this corner.
Will pray and pray.

Post here and say all the things you want to and let it all pour out. x

DutchOma · 30/12/2008 15:06

It is perhaps the most clever thing you could ever do Weeteeny, to ask for prayer and to put your hope in God. Be assured that whatever the outcome, God will be there for the children and for you too.
We may never understand why bad things happen to good people, but God can bring good out of even the direst situation.
May you yourself feel the love and comfort that only God can bring in this situation.
Every blessing

I hope your friend gets better soon. x

Thinking of your friend Weeteeny

potoftea · 30/12/2008 15:52

Weeteeny, I am crying reading this thread.

How awful for the family, and especially at this "family" time of year.

I too will pray for this lady and her family. That's all anyone can do, but it really is a lot.
I honestly feel that my ds would not have lived through a bad time if it weren't for all the lovely prayers said for him, even though at the time I was too angry with God to pray myself.

Keep us posted on how she's doing, and take care of yourself.
