What is the most interesting/amusing/significant thing a deity has communicated to you?

SorcererGaheris · 19/06/2026 18:06

For those who actively engage in communication with deities, what are examples of the most interesting things they've said (or otherwise communicated) to you?

My communication with deities has been very limited, but one recent experience that amused me was after I made an approach to Aphrodite, who told me, "You're unkempt". (She wasn't wrong.)

I speak with Christ Jesus every day, several times a day. 😊 God communicated to me (and everyone who wants to hear) a very stern warning: "I am the LORD your God ... you shall have no other gods before me. You shall not make for yourself an idol, whether in the form of anything that is in heaven above, or that is on the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth. You shall not bow down to them nor worship them ..."

100% this. There is only one God. The rest are counterfeits. 🍿

I'm glad that you have a fulfilling relationship with your deity of choice. 😊

This nonsense is frankly worrying.

Overtheatlantic · 20/06/2026 02:32

Don’t let it worry you. People are free to worship how they see fit.

Justmerach · 20/06/2026 08:50

Myself, I am a Christian and think that messages from Christ ministry are the authentic ones through the Holy Spirit. I have got messages before but they was not authentic and God showed me so. God often doesn't name a messenger by name, messages will usually be given by the Holy Spirit and sent to your spirit and they will share with you and it will support/be approved by Jesus Christ ministry.

Once at 19 to somewhere I went once on recommendation I never asked questions and they recorded it. I listened to it decades on and it was nonsense and just good advice what they said which came from me. Telling them I don’t go out much and then saying just general advice. They said I would get married and this was a lie and recently God showed me that was not me. That was not my first encounter was fake messages.

Some have caused divisions by telling family members wrong things and these didn’t come from Jesus Christ ministry.

Messages that are from and reflect Jesus Christ ministry can be authentic I think. I have had some of those for me as well.

God has showed me some very nice things through the Holy Spirit gift that he gave me, mainly visions God has shown me through this gift. It hasn’t been used a lot in my life and it is for protection and safety and supports Jesus Christ ministry.

Two that I like, one was a Zebra running free gathered by children standing with a man and this meant look to spiritual freedom in your life.

Also, they showed me a succession of church elders one after another which then led to me after getting healing through Eucharist for a nervous condition. I think that they claimed that one.

I like in 2014 that they also showed a whale and I was on it like transport and got off and this reminded me of the Jonah story.

@Sweetpea333

If you actively worry about it, then it might be best that you avoid this thread. The thread is directed at people who have developed their psychic/spirit communication abilities enough to have experienced some form of communication with deities and it doesn't sound like you are one of those people.

And you’re ok with being ordered how to behave? A form of control?

Thegreatestoftheseislove speaks for themselves. I read what they wrote first as literally and I was thinking it is quite rare I think for Christ to talk directly to people when he has messengers and the Holy Spirit which he gives people. Writing Lord it seemed like it was direct. It seems like the talking to Jesus is a prayer and the message given is a commandment in the Bible.
Faith is a choice and we all have the ability to make that choice. I have read a post by Thegreatestoftheseislove that they rekindled their faith in their adulthood so it is their choice.
You have your choice to be an atheist.
Talking personally it is a choice for me to.

Moving on I find conversions stories from the Occult to Christianity quite interesting-

You may find it controlling @Parker231 for me, I am grateful for the warning. I would be grateful for a warning notice telling me 'beware of the cliff: do not jump off it as there will be consequences'. You are free to ignore the warning and metaphorically jump off the cliff if you want to, so it is hardly controlling.

We have 'spoken' many times on matters of the Christian Faith, so we both understand our mutual ways of being are not in alignment. On this matter I doubt if either of us has anything new to reveal to each other. 💐

Being as @Justmerach has chosen to talk about me 😊I will say directly to them that, I would hope that anyone born again in Spirit and Truth would heed the same communication (it is in the Bible, afterall). I also confirm that yes, I speak with Christ Jesus many times throughout a day. It is interesting that you find that to be rare. 🙏

Yes people can talk to God outside of prayer but some may take that as a two way conversation that Jesus is speaking to you one to one when you talk to him. It is most likely to be through the Holy Spirit that happens and to be approved by Jesus Christ. Jesus has many messengers to I imagine and can use them. I think that he can converse to people to, but I would find that a bit more rare.

It is there in my first post on the thread - the warning that in your opinion is controlling and that I was being ordered what to do and how to think.

@Justmerach Talking to God is prayer, surely. I know some folk are religious about it and that is fine for them. For me, my relationship and my conversing is constant - just like talking with my best friend when I am with them.

Thank you, I understand. Some people set aside time for prayer but one can be in a situation and speak to God, like they can say God help me if in need and but not actually be in a prayer as such and may be out an about even and say this silently to themselves etc. People can speak about God to and thank God and not actually be in a prayer.

I do not fully agree. 😊 There is no special formula for prayer, hence me saying simply talking to God is prayer - this can be done internally or verbally. Whatever works for you is good enough. For me, it almost a constant internal dialogue unless I am with others 'in prayer'. But we are in danger of straying off the subject started by the OP.

I think that the intention of this thread was to post personal experiences which can be supported by scripture of course.

I will add another one. I am a Christian.
Once at church the readings covered a reading on anti-slavery which was (Isaiah 9). The church paper they use at church is plain my minister said. The Holy Spirit my minister agreed put an image of anti-slavery on the sermon sheet. To me this showed that the faith was anti-slavery which I already knew already. It gave me a surprise the picture at first. I do still have the picture. This could have been for those who attended that service.

I was once rescued from a flood by one of the Welsh pantheon!

It was a few weeks later during a guided meditation on a completely different subject that the penny dropped as to who it was. He found it very funny and I still remember the laughter and a rather sardonic "took you long enough" to this day.

Provided it's not harming other people or violating their rights, then yes. And entering into personal communication with deities of choice is doing neither of those things.

Ah, which one was it?

I'm thinking maybe Manawydan or Gwydion, but those are just random guesses.

That was your inner critic speaking. You split the thought off into a category you labelled Aphrodite. This is the road to psychosis. You are playing with Intrusive Thoughts and gambling with your mental health.
Find a healthy hobby instead.

That was your inner critic. Laughing at you cruelly. Give it enough rope and you’ll be agoraphobic and depressed. Don’t play with your mind. Respect sanity or potentially lose it.

Myoldbear · 08/07/2026 15:39

Well, I do believe in God, but prefer to call God Love.

Mainly I have communication which is from both me and beyond me. I see that as the product of relationship.

It says 'Trust' when I panic or life is hard.

Just a word, but it is right for me because it helps.
