Genesis 9:3, "Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you".
1 Timothy 4:4 in the New Testament, the Apostle Paul states that "God created them [meats] to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth"
Jesus himself ate meat, including fish at the Last Supper and a Passover lamb

Suits me just fine 😊
I love the smell of bacon in the morning…

While you've got the book open, head over to Leviticus. All kinds of fun there.

That’s the Mosaic Covenant. Christians are in relationship with God under the New Covenant, inaugurated by Christ.

This sounds like that poster who’s saying Jesus is due back soon & wants everyone to move to the country & weave lentils, but is ignoring the point that given the current state of the property market we’re unlikely to all be able to get there in time - let alone get there & start up community-run bus services.

I don’t like bacon, & didn’t even like it before I went veggie. So there.

God bless you for trying but I would caution against it. This is just the latest in a long line of goady posts from the anti-Christian brigade. I washed my hands of it long ago.

The New Testament teaching is that you can eat meat if you want, but it’s not compulsory!

The choice is yours.

Agreed.

"But @IloveMeat is a spammer"

Well spam is meat after all...

LaurieFairyCake · 07/09/2025 20:04

There are 480 rules in Leviticus, you should cheerfully not follow any of them.

Im not a vegetarian but you can certainly make an argument for vegetarianism and veganism from the stewardship of the world edicts.

LaurieFairyCake · 07/09/2025 20:05

Apart from don’t fuck your brither in law, never a good idea Wink

Ooh damn, I forgot to do this last month 😬🤣🤣

It’s hard to know whether to eat them or release them. It’s very confusing

Fairyintheforest · 07/09/2025 22:21

Hang on some moving things that live are poisonous not food. Take it with a pinch of salt. Not sure eating every moving thing that lives is great advice.

GroundControlToMajorTomCat · 25/12/2025 21:56

Good to know?

StripedPillowcase · 25/12/2025 22:09

The Bible also says you should make burned offerings at the Temple. I'm not sure my local church would be too keen.

CATomas · 26/12/2025 01:41

The Bible also describes a great big flood that destroyed every living thing on the planet except those on the big, really big, boat. All because God was having a temper tantrum over human behavior.
