My son is not christened - not even so he can get into the nearest catholic school.

He (and I, of course) am damned to hell fire.

Is it possible to top that in the bad parents league?!

And to go back to your original post, a whole group of my friends went to a mass baptism or whatever Catholics do, to get their kids into the Catholic school. They told the priest they weren't terribly religious, but he seemed to think it was counteracted by their nice middle-classness in an area with a challenging (shall we say) catchment area. Don't think the church specifies belief as a requirement when counting new souls in the parish...

No, I think it's all about demographics these days
